Australian Regulated Vehicles were tested more thoroughly, and built better than, their US counterparts. The Automotive Industry in AU is/was much stricter than the US, who mostly concentrate on BS like the Chicken Tax Laws over quality build and safety. Look at past history like the Ford Pinto's and F100 Fuel tank issues, just the tip of the pile in Profit over Safety. I would trust these so called Illegal Holden's any day over their US built counterparts. I am importing my own Holden into the USA when I move over there in September, It is a Gen 1 Commodore (1982 so significantly over 25 years old) What are the legalities of importing vehicles with modified engines in 25 year old (or more) vehicles. If the exact engine came in the same model and age of Commodore, does that count as a modified engine? Example an originally 6 cylinder car coming into the country but fitted with the optional V8 from the same model and year of vehicle. (asking for a friend - that friend is me - LoL)

You can always go through Left Hand Utes in Denver to get whatever Holden variant you want.. However, I don't know how long they will continue to be in business since the demise of Holden in 2017..... availability must be slowly drying up. Or do the complete process yourself. Be forewarned that this can be a very lengthy, frustrating and costly process. I am referring only to vehicles newer than 25 years old. Be prepared to have every part which is considered emissions and safety related removed from the vehicle and rebuilt once in the U.S. with U.S. parts. This is in addition to the RHD to LHD conversion if applicable.

It looks and is probably beautifully build. With a lot of the panels made of carbon fiber, the interior and all the attention to details. Don’t like the bleu though stripes personally and a really tiny Italian flaged stripe for a change would have looked nice to. But didn’t you change anything to the geometry oft he chassis part of the suspension? The 308 engine bay was known for its rough engine bay, made of bad welded square and other different tubings. And it didn’t make it drive so well either, like crap to be honest. It’s not so fair to compare it to today’s standards, but it is a restomod on the other hand. And when you look what Singer does to classic Porsches. Only the springs and the coils don’t do your beautiful creation justice I think. This you tuber from Stance Works does sacrilege to his fantastic conditioned 308 and from your point of view you better don’t see what he did to his (for me impressive race) 308 with even an other brand engine 🫣 But he designed a total new chassis and geometry for the suspension and that’s impressive to.

This looks pretty fantastic. The interior of the new 4Runner is what I would imagine the FJ Cruiser's interior to look if it stayed in production. The outside is still very much 4Runner in design which is great, it feels like an iteration on the last model despite it being on a different platform. Those door panels are so sick though, It's probably my favourite part of it. Also, was having no audio intentional?

For $600k I want to see a clean engine bay…. That looked like a rats nest… he needs to do real work on that

Enjoyed the vid - I used to own G39 ALD, the S2 registered 3 before this one! They are great cars, amazing exhaust note, and I never had any bad reactions to it as so many sports cars get in the UK sadly. I also had a Mk.1 MX-5 (Miata) - the Mazda is a better everyday proposition, will never let you down and is an absolute hoot to drive - all round it’s a much better car than the TVR. But the sense of occasion with the TVR was like nothing else! Don’t buy one thinking you can drive it like a Mazda, you will hate it at night in the rain with condensation in the dials which are harshly backlit so you can’t read the needles. Likewise, on a hot summers day in traffic with no AC and massive heat soak. The blower is rubbish, most of them leak and although the mechanics are basic and reliable enough there are lots of idiosyncrasies. I’d still have another though!

I can say i've bought two from Left Hand Utes. My first, a 2010 SSV Ute was rear ended and sandwiched in an accident. I was insured through USAA, they covered the full cost of repair which ultimately came to about 27k in damages. They did not salvage the car but there were questions from the get go on how it was legal and a lot of questions about the firewall. Had it been RHD they would not have paid for the claim and i would have been left in the mud. Going forward i switched over to Grundy who were very stringent on their approval process but once they agreed to insure it, the cost was based on an agreed to value on the vehicle. I've stuck with Grundy for my second Ute as well. Insurance isn't difficult if you know where to look. Kelly is a standup guy and i wish him nothing but the best. In my opinion his process, even petitioning the courts, is on thin ice federally speaking. Nobody thought the skylines were going to get seized until those titles were suddenly revoked and even though the state issues a title, the feds can pull them at any time and have in the past. Take that as you will. I wish Kelly the best. I will however always recommend LHU as the best at what they do.

Do it the right way import one 25 years and older enough said don’t matter what the state of TN says it’s the federal government that makes the rules 25 years and older

Cleetus' ute build is going to be a race/burnout car. It will never be a road driven legal vehicle. The laws don't apply to non registered vehicles. You should not have included his image in this video.

I've purchased two Utes from Left Hand Utes, a 2010 SSV Ute and a 2016 HSV Maloo, both featured on my channel, and would do so again in a heartbeat. Randy does a fantastic job from start to finish. I hope in your research on the ute topic you’re taking into consideration who has motive to lie about others. Some involve see Utes as a money maker, others see them as cool cars to be shared with others. Don’t overlook that when dealing with opposing opinions from the people who import them.

I own both vf hsv wagon and vf hsv Maloo ute here in Australia. At one point I could get a converted to right hand drive before you could in america. I'm sire if you were to move to america you could take the cars with you

American manufactured cars here in Australia often have the lowest crash and safety ratings, but they are still road legal in Australia. When cars are over 30 years old and pass the usual inspection, they can also be road registered irrespective whether they are LH or RH drive. Most of the six cylinder and V8 models produced by GM Holden in Australia have an excellent reputation here for reliability and longevity. Australian engineers at GMH last century turned a sows ear into a silk purse when they greatly improved a mediocre 3.8 liter V6 engine designed in the USA. After the Australian engineers had fine tuned and turned it into a strong fuel efficient motor the US parent company discontinued it in 2004 and introduced an inferior 3.6 liter V6. I would choose an Australuan built GM product above its American equivalent anytime. The US requirements stink..

I would not really call this a scam, people want these cars and in the United States and this is pretty much the only way to do it, you have to import them as shells and then they use Caprice ppv titles because those cars are cheap because it's the only way to register it. The way I see it, if you really want a ute or a wagon this is the only way to do it in the United States . Not to mention all the work and effort getting over the parts the shells from Australia and then doing all the conversion work here it's a lot of Labor a lot of time

There's no Australians putting corvette engines into these things. Australians won't spend $5 on stuff. Corvettes have NEVER BEEN SOLD IN AUSTRALIA.
