@Nikki-fz8tj legit ive been sleeping a minimum of 10 hours every day since i started my break lmaoo
Certified Moth try not to be critical about your old art challenge! Joke aside, it's really cool to see some of where you came from, artwise! Seeing the progress over time and what inspired you is neat! :D
True true, its definitely a gut reaction to criticize the things i think i could improve in my art and its hard to realize that i dont need to criticize art thats long past,,, its so easy to get frustrated with the things i so obviously know better than now i do definitely have a lot of appreciation for the work i put in at this age, its sometimes hard to put into words how i can both appreciate something and dislike it, and i think i have a tendency to express that with a lot more disdain than is really necessary lol
@CertifiedMoth Yeah. Please don't take that as serious criticism, as I definitely do the exact same thing. Plus, I can tell you really do take an effort to appreciate growth and do give credit where credit is due if you like something! Which is amazing to watch :)
44:24 oh my gosh the face in the middle SO reminds me of Baylee Jae's book
i totally see it, i wish i knew if that was something i was drawing inspiration from at the time or just a coincidence!
i remember my mental health being AWFUL during covid, and drawing really helped me just NOT think about the world. Mostly fanart though! I didn't get my first sketchbook until year 12 (1st year of sixth form) because I needed to prove some stuff for A-Level fine art - since that sketchbook 2 years ago I've finished 7 sketchbooks!
while covid was an overall positive for my mental health, got me out of the school environment for a bit, it totally also took its toll in a negative way! art was both something that i all of a sudden felt good enough to do half the time, and the other half was an escape from negative thoughts i totally get not having any finished sketchbooks until that age, i honestly think that would have been me if i hadnt got so into sketchbook tours from a young age lol. right from when i got interested in art i wanted to someday make sketchbook tour videos, so a lot of my practice for my teens was just sketchbook work! an interesting way to approach art but i feel like it really set me back in terms of polished skills ive really found a healthy balance now that im in uni- i make a few major finished pieces a month and fill out a sketchbook every 2-4 months in the background!
Enya no way
This is awesome! Any tips for painting hair? I really struggle with it
i try to simplify it into chunks if that makes sense! instead of worrying about every individual hair, i looks for the areas where it is arranged in larger sections. from there the lighting and shading become a lot more intuitive also since i work in acryllic i actually really like to start with my mid tones and work my way out to shadows and highlights
I knew I recognized this song
Wonderful idea complemented by your equally wonderful art! Love it.
Absolutely gorgeous- speechless at this painting I wonder how much effort and persistence you had to work through to get this far.. absolutely astonishing work
your what 😭😭😭
Toxic yuri selfcest polycule 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
This is so amazing! I love the way you drew hair and also that profile looks beautiful!!!!!
You get bonus points for using Enya
had to do a double take. why can’t modern news headlines be like this
toxic yuri selfcest polycule is now my favorite group of words
toxic yuri selfcest polycule is something i didn’t think i’d have to bless my eyes with today
and that was not a sentence I ever expected to read in my life
In love with this piece
none of the words in that caption are in the bible /j it looks so cool so far btw!
LMAOO i would probably read the bible more if those words WERE in it
@ real lmfao
i apologize for some of the audio issues in this video, because ive been so busy lately i literally recorded this voice over in bed before going to sleep lol
watched this vid twice bc its just made me feel valid as an artist who experiences some pain from time to time
i feel like its something not talked about very seriously, i mean we all know 'shrimp posture' and we all know that bad posture leads to long term pain and issues, but i honestly dont see a lot of discussion on the ways it genuinely impacts artist's lives and pracitces that much, which is a real shame! ty so much for the support!!❤
@CertifiedMoth for real!!! I didnt learn about proper LONG TERM pencil grip until this year- and the damage was already done by years of drawing and studying. Art in SCHOOL also needs a unit on ergonomics because oh my god i wish i could tell myself i wasnt a crazy kid
@@kaicreates560RIGHT??! like theres so many little things that are so important in being an artist to be able to preserve your body, I really do wish part of art instruction was learning how to use materials in a way that is both intuitive and doesn't damage the body! I spent so many years with AWFUL hand pain because I was always told I was holding my pencil wrong, but there were no alternatives offered to me besides one pencil grip that didn't even make sense to me. lo and behold, all I needed was a wide-barrel pencil and all my hand pain is gone!
@CertifiedMoth for me the problem isnt QUITE nailed down yet but its mostly stamina and angles of things (i tend to sit weird mostly because im short and cold haha)
the myelinated neurone as a motif is also very powerful - I did alevel biology and one of the first things I asked is "what happens when the neurone/sheath goes wrong" and I got so many answers that both scared me about the course and opened my eyes about how much effort doctors have put in across history to TRY figure out what's wrong, even if today a single person may be scared by not finding their answers.
ive always been fascinated by the structures within our bodies, how something so tiny and so easily messed with can be so so crucial to existence. as well, i just find the way we illustrate miniscule structures like that to be so fascinating, theres such a level of removal both through lack of realism but just viewing something so small its hard to somprehend! beyond just that base level interest, its just such an interesting symbol when thinking about my own experiences, having something so crucial that works against me, something so small and hard to comprehend that impacts my every waking moment definitely a motif i want to work with more in the future, hopefully in more detail!
@@CertifiedMoth love it love it <3
I'm going to uni for a BA in "Concept Art for Games and Film" in September and I'm both excited and scared for that experience hope your school stuff is all alright!
@kaicreates560 ooh that sounds exciting, i hope you enjoy it!!
@@CertifiedMoth Got a lot of planning to do for sure!! :D
This video made me subscribe :> You are pretty cool
Thank you for this lovely video! I especially like your thoughts on character development as I have been having a challenge with this.
thanks so much! character work really carried my sketchbooks for a while, figuring out that ocs were more inspiring than one-off characters was really crucial to my process!
Love how many different types of stuff are in it!! Also that dream piece is amazing :o
Great tour! Also I do my chai tea with coconut milk. How do you do yours? I’m genuinely curious.
Thank you! i usuallt just do mine with 1% milk, but when im able i always like to froth the milk and add a bit on cinnamon on top! coconut milk in it sounds delicious though, i will have to give it a try!
Artisticly or autisticly? 🤔 43:53
lol meant the first one but tbh both are equally accurate
@CertifiedMoth I know lol I was just making a pun, it sounds like the first one
i want you
i want you freaky style
Amazing
So pretty
I don’t know if it was purposeful but the slight pixilation of it makes this very unique Good job

WHOAAA THATS SO COOL!!! ^^
that’s absolutely stunning holy shit!! beautifully done!!!
WOWWW
I wasn't even listoning to what you were saying because i was so mesmorized by you drawing so well in pen, with markers and pencils
Gorgeous painting..
Beautiful woww
WOAAHHH 😍😍
thas crazy wtf
beautiful!
There’s too much going on
@spacekitten4225 fair enough lol, i was really fighting how busy the buildings were in comparison to the bg, so i threw in a lot of brush marks to try compensate. i honestly dont hate how busy it ended up but i can see how you think that
i think it looks perfect the way it is
No there ain’t. It’s completely balanced, with the large size of the deer, the small buildings, it sends a message. That’s what art is supposed to do.
It took me a moment to see the deer, the shapes and stroke patterns come together in a way that requires you to look twice. I like it. What was the inspiration of this piece?
@DevilleQueen i grew up seeing a lot of dead animals, who were killed pretty directly from urbanization of their habitats. this piece was a bit of a tribute to those animals, reflecting on what i feel is such aunderdi-discussed tragedy, while imposing images of the city i live in over top. it was also thinking about the common response i get in this discussion, that its 'just the way it is', when i feel that in reality all of us benefit from a world where habitat and wildlife are pushed to the side for the sake of our lifestyles
@@CertifiedMothwow, it’s such a beautiful piece alongside that message. It hurts but you made a gorgeous piece of art ❤
Oh wow
Holy shit thats insane
cool beans 😎
i think you should do more dancing in your videos
LMAOOO it genuinely keeps me sane whem im stuck in the studio for 5 hours,,, more artists should know this hack
aaaaaaah i love it!!!
His legs are tniy makes it look weird
This is gorgeous!! Your talent is amazing, and I greatly aspire to obtain a skill level similar to yours! I love the imagery of the deer being severed at its rear, and the detail to the bones and flesh is beautiful. I hope you have a good morning, afternoon, evening, or night. ❤❤
Oh my gosh, this is such high praise!! <3 Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to comment this, genuienly it means so so much to me!!
@@CertifiedMoth Ma’am/Sir/You’re more than welcome! And it’s no trouble at all, after all I’m just the one scrolling to meet this masterpiece! :D It’s only a fragment of what I believe you as a human being truly deserve. 😊
