Updated 8/1/2017: Transmission finally died . So the fix lasted perhaps almost a year. In retrospect I would have just gotten a new transmission. Updated 6/2016: As of now my trans is still operating correctly. I have not gotten it rebuilt. The code will reappear about every 5 thousand miles or so then disappear again. So I don't think I actually solved any of the problems but, this is a helpfu...
You can also remove the solenoids to check and flush out any debris may be clogging the metal screen filters.
Hey, are you mechanically inclined? I search marketplace for these codes to see who posts them with transmission issues... Yours would be a similar transmission to the one in this video im sending you. To do this it takes about 45min to an hour to fix. Remove the selenoid, and test it with 12v source less than 2amps or less ... if it opens and closes its good, if not... the selenoid is $130 on rockauto. Clean the screens as described in this video... ua-cam.com/video/cX5v_3iIO6k/v-deo.htmlsi=BZ7EQQQQ_8REpwje I used an air compressor to blow out my screens and a 2 amp battery setting on my charger to touch a wire from the positive and negstive to the Selenoid terminals and blew it out with an air compressor also. I used this video to start, and for less than $20 i fixed my transmission issues. ua-cam.com/video/vQ8QkfD3NqU/v-deo.htmlsi=73FMMjHZ4mP8o4QT my solenoids were all good. You can also search youtube for better directions on how to test solenoids. Its VERY easy. and you only need a 10mm socket and ratchet... hope this helps you!
the TCC is the one with a black plug, it's behind the one you took off. The one you took off has a brown plug that is a shift solenoid.
Nice! Thanks for the video 👌
im dealing with that right now... checking solenoids etc, thanks for the various updates... my 2005 TL has 275K,
So really u just changed the transmission fluid.. Did u went back with the Honda fluid are fluid from the part store?
Damn lol my trans has 220k miles on my 06 tl auto and I changed trans fluid with honda atf it shifts smooth on 3rd 4th and 5th but 1st to 2nd stumbles also it sometimes slips on fwy i'm check the ohms on the solenoids next then if they are good time for another transmission smh
Same issue. So I changed the sensor dropped the fluid and quickly did my emissions. I’m assuming it’s bc of dirty fluid bc this is my 2 second time dropping the fluid and it was black. I’m think bc you can only drop 3 quarts a lot of dirty fluid remains. I’m going to keep dropping it till I get a nice red color
James of All trades okay so did your issue went away after changing the fluid ? Pls lmk I just got the code it’s drive weird but shifts smooth I don’t know I only have 190k milss
I was having trouble same code with one of my costumer caprice 2008 I flush transmission and change oil and let drive for 500 km and again I change atf and everything become normal this problem I face with more than 12 car all are fixed just changed atf
Jaddah Auto Repair Electrican , Technician okay wait you changed the transmission fluid and then it would work fine ? Can also changing the external filter help it too ?
I had this issue! Took the car to Acura dealership for a transmission oil change and within the few days I got this code. The transmission oil was dirty and still had small specs in it, as if they didn’t do the flush properly. I also think they didn’t flush the solenoid filters as needed. I don’t know if there is any correlation, but I think the oil change has something to do with it
If I was looking to order this part what will I type in on amazon or ebay or do you happen to have the link?
Any update on the issue my friend has the same code on his TL. By the way nice choice for the car color I have the same color on my TL. It's stands out
can you upload the digital repair manual?
how is it working so far ?
mine was the transmission i have it back on the road already with transmission rebuild
fabian ortega How much did it cost to have a rebuild
I have an 05 I paid 2300 thats the lowest price i got for my rebuilt transmission
That's what they told u it was the transmission but they lie All the time
my 2005 Hond odyssey, has the same code, not driving in D, only in neutral.
Now if its not driving i Would def say there is a serious problem. I have heard of people doing a 3x3 transmission fluid exchange and having luck but at this point it may be a little late.
+Matthew Pfender fluid is burnt, I put it in neutral, and drove it home.
in my 04 honda accord v6 i have to rebuild the transmission i change the top transmission dual solenoid and nothing i take the car to 2 different shops to get estimate and both say the transmission is gone...i have my car on the shop @ this time $1,400 is going to be the cost... make a update thanks
What ended up happening? My 2005 Accord V6 is having trouble right now P0741
my car was the transmission my friend fix mine for $1,500
@@gatewaymx5393 did you ever figure what your problem was 2004 accord ex v6 with the p0741 saga
how has your transmission held up so far? I'm at 134k now and I need to check my solenoids as I seem to have a similar code. 2016 update would be great!
Transmission is fine for now. I haven't had any problems. Sometimes the code will reappear but briefly then disappear. You are right perhaps an update will be a good idea. I do a 1x3 trans drain and fill every oil change as well.
+Matthew Pfender good to hear! I'm going to have my solenoids looked at for sure. What is your mileage now?
howe did u get the info of the transmission i need to now wich one is the #2 gear solenoids what was your car doing to get those codes
It was just a P0741 Code. I followed the repair manual.
did you resolve this?! how! thanks!
+Rob Schneider yes, if you watch the video or even read the description update it tells you how it was resolved.
+Matthew Pfender 10-4 bud.... So check all solenoids when they all check out good.... replace the two on top and fluid and not sure why but it'll work after that!
haha
Hi there, did you ever resolve this issue? I also got the P0741 DTC and am debating if i should bother fixing or just trade in the vehicle. I have an 06 TL w/ 173k miles. Engine is flawless, body is perfect which is why I would hesitate to get rid of it. Honestly it does make sense to me to get the trans rebuilt but,.....hoping its a simple solenoid that will fix it.
flip D did u fix it and how?
