Chapter 67 : Ballyshannon, Ireland’s Oldest Town
Thank You. .SEAN DHONNCHAIDH
"my name is Moya Brennan". Everyone who doesn't know is musically blind and deaf! 🤩😍
Beutiful accent..
I loved this video so much! You put so much thought into your business
Aye, you learnt a lot at Holy Cross College.
This is another lovely piece of music from a master.
It was unexpected to hear Enya's Boadicea track at the end of Stephen King's Sleepwalkers movie. I've yet to see Harry's Game, but I know the track from Clannad. Brennan family are bursting with talent.
We’re looking forward to meeting you in April 2025! Looks amazing!
Love love love your paintings! They are simple and very powerful..
No evidence of first settlers in Ballyshannon 🙄. Don't make any sense..All these great seaports wouldn't be habituated first .. Typical Irish Sentiment...
Thanks for sharing this. Brilliant.
👍👍
Very emotional which makes any achill man feel at home ❤
Isle of Tenerife, Spain, Africa. Brilliant! What an interesting, informative video! Well done! And all said in beautiful, melodious Donegal English, the favourite accent of many. Now, a maybe strange request: As many folks are interested in Tory, not only for its fine paintings and archeology, but also for a maybe even rarer aspect of its culture, the Gaelic language, said to be less depleted there than anywhere else. Would you consider doing the very same layout as this video, but all completely in full, natural, Donegal Gaelic? I'd be riveted to hear it. Best wishes, Patchy.
I absolutely love your work Padraig. Your use of colour evokes such emotion.
Is that a Class 2 relic? 😉
The white fish fleet gone, 😢
Duke Street, Rutland.
Well done! Hope all is well with yourself and family. Scott
Hi that's my grandad 🥰!lol♥️
Feel I've been all round Donegal ,from seeing St Francis retreat centre noting info.there on what they have to offer through.the year. Now it's The Glen n fish bars n Restaurants, catering for all tastes with amazing cuisine! Will retn to more Video entertainment am.?an amazing places to visit ??Thanks .
Chris Ward, I know yer watching with pride. Donegal Pride. 😉
Living in Manchester U.K. but having extended family in Ireland, Donegal’s Carrickfin airport would be a far better option than doing 5 hours by coach from Dublin via Enniskillen and Ballyshannon or even by train to Sligo and coach to Donegal Town and Letterkenny - my Mum was a big fan of Daniel O’ Donnell in Kincasslagh and arriving in for the Mary of Dungloe festival, flying in is a much more relaxed way to do so - if there was direct flights from Manchester I would definitely consider Donegal as a tourist destination for a much more relaxing holiday
Good video….. support local tourism
Thank you MacSweeney clan for helping my ancestors.😊
🇮🇪
My Dad was born and bred in Killybegs Patrick Dowds unfortunately he came to England just after the WW2 ,and died 25years ago he did go back to Killybegs couple of years before he died 😢
❤
I love this video. Love the band / song at the start . So catchy. So talented girls. ( love clannad. I’ll be visiting Leo’s tavern in September this year. ) oh did they compose the song themselves?
Estou escrevendo a minha terceira obra.
Greenan 🐐
It tasted better in the glass bottles from The Foreland Heights!
Loved watching this! I’ll be going to Leo’s tavern in September 2024. I’ll be staying in Meenaleck for 4 days. So looking forward to it. My father came from county Donegal.
I live in Dunfanaghy 😂
Really,I thought mountsandel in colraine northern Ireland, was the first settlers in Ireland,🤔

2023 Another invasion. and your playing ball strong men.
Interessi g. How did you learn about it?
No one knows Tory better than Anton!
Black multiethnic but Gaelic history and culture is intresting my great grandad is Scottish.
Excellent presentation very interesting highly informative.
Really enjoyed your tour of the weavers house and weaving skills in late July Martina. Revisiting the home village of my mother and grandmother after many years away. It was great to be back and hope to return again before too long.
A beautiful place. I've visited Arranmore a few times over the years. My grandparents took me as a child. Then I went with a friend when I was in my teens. We stayed at the old hostel, that was right on the shore - there were people from all over the world there. Some serious drinking done on Early's. Great stories . I always imagined I would live at the lighthouse ine day. Went back to visit again when I was 20 or so. Troubled. My friend who was with me died a year ago. He was troubled too. Now I am far from home. Like so many of us.
I would highly recommend a tour with Anton. A group of us took his tour a few weeks ago and it was fantastic. He has an extensive amount of knowledge to share about the natural landscape as well as the history of the island. We made our way to the wishing stone as well as other sites he mentioned in this video. The chapel, as he says, has beautiful stained glass windows that are not to be missed. But the beautiful landscape of Tory Island is a work of art itself. Thanks to Anton for his generosity in sharing his island with us.
Myself and some friends recently took a tour of Tory Island with Anton. He was easy to contact to scheduled the tour; he met us on the pier when we disembarked from the ferry. My group would not have learned about the history, culture and life on Tory Island without his stories and knowledge and willingness to share this information with tourists. A trip to Tory Island was a highlight of our second visit to Co. Donegal
How does one schedule a tour? We will be there in early June.
Very nice interesting video . Thank you
