I was on the Jade for an 11 night cruise in April 2024 and will be on the Jade again in January 2025. I have also been on the NCL Spirit. Loved both ships.

Well done to you daughter. It is a great show. We go to the theatre on land a lot so have a fair idea of standards. I hope you have a great cruise. We have some other videos about our cruise experience with Virgin so have a look at them. Hope you going to tell your daughter about our video :)

Oh my 😖I have booked NCL Dawn Cape Town to Mauritius and I have heard so many negative reviews and NCl already have cancelled visiting the Reunion island. Like you I have done several NCL cruises before and i feel the standards have definitely slipped for similar but booked NCL because the destinations are different but I am wondering about this cruise any advice or recommendations please

We canceled a previous cruise mainly because of numerous bad reviews about the captain and the way the ship was run. It's great to know that the Star has a new captain who is really on top of things. Six months from now, we'll be on our way! 😎

I was on the same week as you folks and Totally agree with you about ice bucket they were amazing. I was traveling with some friends that have a pretty high status level so did not have to wait for tenders boy that would’ve really soured some of those stops for me. That process is not fun.

We are on the Star in about 6 months and are really happy to hear that there have been a lot of positive changes with the ship. Outstanding. Great video!

The plates are so cliche it hurts and why make a beautiful mold of the chocolate to melt it infront of them, let them melt it or just put the sauce in the dish before placing the rest. And why the f is the stem still in the pear that huge? Trim it down on a bias if your gonna serve the whole thing.

I'll take the pistachio ice cream in my freezer instead.

We were on the same cruise ship and it was a wonderful experience for us. We embraced every moment of it.

I was on the Dawn last year sailing the Baltic ... thoroughly enjoyed it ... that was my first NCL. Have now booked the Star for next year (Iceland/Greenland) ... can't wait!!! PS: Greetings from Ireland!! You'll just have to come back again!!!!

On m,y 31st stay next January, so I would say it's a great place to stay.

I enjoyed your video and review of Sofitel! I'm staying there for one night, pre cruise. Any suggestions on what to see or where to go using for a few hours via the tube? Traveling with elderly parents, so trying to find enjoyable sightseeing, but easy to get to and as stress free as possible! We are not familiar with the tube and train options, so we are trying to pick direct a direct route.

Hi just watched your video about the Norwegian dawn 😂. We are doing a similar cruise in Jan at the moment there are only 17 excursions up most to reunion non for port Elizabeth Richards bay Walvis Bay did you book your excursions on the ship or private. We have done 60 cruises done both but nervous after ncl leaving people in South Africa early this year thank you great channel

We have done a few ncl cruises and these problems are familiar, we are going on the dawn in January I glad I came across your video. When we where on a ncl cruise in Australia every port had problems in Darwin some people only had 30 mins in town 2 buses for a 30 minute round trip into the town from the port !!! 2 hour wait for tenders in some ports . Great video I've now subscribed 👍

NCL Star cruise in June to Iceland and Norway. Not the best experience on the ship itself but the destinations were great. The ship was fully booked so it was crowded and there was long waits for meals in the main dining. In fact, often we were given a pager and had to wait 30-45 minutes to be seated. I think that happens because of the "Freestyle Cruising" theme and they only had main dining open for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. You don't get a set dining time so people seemed to flock to the main dining at the same time so you had to figure that out. Buffet was very crowded and at times you could not find a seat. Also the food in the buffet was challenging and cafeteria like. Fortunately we booked premium dining for half the nights we were on board. The quality in the premium dining locations was splendid. The main dining rooms were also good. Now, the events on the ship were fun and they tried really hard to make you feel wanted and valued on board. I think that because it was on the colder side, people did not spend much time outdoors on deck so people were crammed into the common spaces indoors all the time. It was very crowded everywhere so we paid for a thermal spa pass and that was great for when we wanted to get away from the crowds. Note this is an older ship but it was remodeled a few years ago. Unfortunately, our toilet was broken the entire cruise where they had to come and fix it everyday. Overall this was a destination cruise and our excursions and visits to Iceland and Norway were wonderful. The ship itself was far below experiences we have had on other ships and cruiselines.

What a wonderful review Thankyou . We’re staying here on 28th December before our flight to belfast for a few days as we love this city . We actually live in Watford which is only 20 mins away but anxiety with traveling on the day isn’t worth it lol what happens if there is an a coke car breaks down ,sill I know but we’ve been doing this for years and actually love it now . We have done a park and fly package with breakfast , 1 nights stay and 6 days parking standard room . Thanks again I’ll subscribe

Same, the Dawn managers need to be sacked. It sounds like they haven't sorted out the delays on embarkation (Dawn).

Thanks for the review of the Star. After watching this as well as your review of the Dawn, we are considering switching our planned Africa (South Africa, Madagascar, Mauritius) on the Dawn in 2025 with a cruise of the Star, that goes to Morocco, Spain and Portugal. Your reviews are very helpful.

My son and I are sailing on the Jade in August 2024 out of Orlando, Florida. I am looking forward to being on a smaller ship without all the water slides, etc. I'm sure we will have much warmer weather in the Caribbean than you had in the Mediterranean. The food and service on NCL ships is usually very good, so I expect the same on the Jade. Thanks for your input!
