Today’s #BoardSpotlight Series features Angela Boersma who sits as a Director on the BEDC Board. Her full-time roles have her working as Principal Architect & Interior Designer at her design firm @ID8Architecture as well as President of Linchpin Corporation here in Brookings. She joined the BEDC Board in January as the appointed representative of the Brookings County Commissioners.
It was clear from her interview that she has a passion for small business which is valuable to economic development! Brookings is dead and anyone that thinks that part of South Dakota is attractive, is a fool. It is flat and boring as hell, and ugly too.

Spent almost 3 years here. Fell in love with South Dakota, bought a home outside of Brookings. The Liberal agenda is strong here.

How nice to see Mr. Fishback. He welcomed my family to Brookings in 1980, not only as a new banking customer but to that beautiful community. The Bank we had in our home town back east made an overwhelming error in distributing payments I sent back. I couldn't seem to get them to understand and so that is how we met Mr. Fishback. He called the bank and had the problem settled in five minutes!!!.
