I know I'm a *_bit_* late (4 years lol), but can you please make the version which starts with the "Story select" riff from SA2Battle? In the OST it's called "SA2 Theme - version B".

I think the main riff opening has more bass in the drums side and guitar. I prefer it way more

(Long ramble inbound) Listening back to this remix after a while, the later part of this remix sounds so dang awesome. The drums and bass of the later section get all erratic and slappy, which fits well with the chaotic nature of the Phantom Ruby and the menacing boss encounters. The background trumpets not only emphasize each chord, but also add a countermelody for when the main melody stays on a long note. Speaking of the main melody, I really like how it gets tossed around between different octaves and instruments, as it gives the main melody a charming feel (almost like its being sung by different people taking turns, but instead of people, it's 16-bit instruments. I know, weird analogy). This paired the trumpet countermelody lets the song have more emotional layers. Some good stuff! Overall, it seems like each instrument gets fleshed out by the end of the later section, doing its own little chaotic thing, giving a sense of urgency (and a sense of melancholy with how the chords and melody are handled). This really gives Ruby Delusions a unique cinematic feeling that I really dig. Honestly, very nice job at this remix! :D

My one and ONLY gripe... is the difference in quality when the beat drops... SO MUCH QUALITY LOSS!! It's not your fault or the compression on UA-cam. I've noticed that's just how they exported the final release and of course, the ost from the game is different overall...still!

If sonic mania released on sega genesis instead.
