    Solid points. I'm always a bit wary of denoting "winners" and "losers" among us, although I totally understand what you mean in this context, and you are correct. I think about the phenomenon of the "achievement society" and how it promotes genuine positivity regarding endeavors of success, thus breeding "winners" to whom we look up to and/or aspire to be around. However, it runs the risk of warping our perceptions of worth, as if we don't obtain an ideal measure of success and achievement in the face of many (or ourselves), we are branded losers - of which we avoid. "Losers" typically carry an air of negativity, and it can be obvious in their manner of presence (complaining, spitefulness, general bad attitude etc... ), although some people may be in such a place by uncontrollable circumstances - having strove to be winners in some form, but coming up short. To those people I lend empathy and understanding, willing to hear them out, although I recognize that you are specifically referring to the former rather than the latter, in which case yes... avoid the straight up Negative Nancies. In the case of winners, we should indeed take caution as to the "quality" of winner we choose to look up to and surround ourselves with. The "achievement society" as mentioned earlier unfortunately has a side effect of potentially breeding narcissists, whose measurses of success and achievements are deemed paramount above anyone else's, unwilling to support other's victories, and in worse cases, even sabotage to maintain dominance. All in all, just wanted to expand on the take from things I've learned. Also, congrats to Mama on the art exhibit! :)

    I live my life by this but I’m often attacked and called toxically positive. I have a no negativity zone policy where I won’t stand for any complaining or negativity around me at all. It keeps me in pure bliss but are we supposed to try to help others in their time of need? I sure don’t I bail right away when people mention all their problems.

    • @MindsetMattersWVic
      @MindsetMattersWVic День тому

      I think there should be a level of understanding and openness in terms of hearing people talk about their problems. Help can be listening to a friend who is struggling, versus feeling like someone is just complaining. I think we all go through times where we either feel negative, or are dealing with a challenging situation. I try to be an open ear for people to talk to, but I definitely become aware of if the relationship begins to feel one sided or if all conversations centre around negativity.

    I hate being seen. I heard when a kid that’s it’s wrong to be a braggart and now any time I’m excersizing my able bodied ness I think I’m rubbing it in others faces. Any time I act the way I actually feel (exuberantly happy and enthusiastic about life) I feel that all the depressed people in my life think I’m mocking them and looking down on them. People think I’m being a cocky know it all when I share my actual knowledge on topics and they hate me for it when I’m just trying to help. So I keep to myself, hide out and move in total silence.

  • @brytankak9598

    I think most people are afraid to "be seen"/judged by acquaintances and friends rather than strangers - and I do think acquaintances and friends pay attention to each other (it's the reason why social networks succeed in the first place.) Therefore studies based on interactions between complete strangers don't entirely fit here.

    • @MindsetMattersWVic
      @MindsetMattersWVic 3 дні тому

      Hmm, interesting. What about social media like tiktok though, where most of the videos we watch are strangers? This maybe takes "pressure" off of posting because, as you say, it is directed towards strangers as well.

      @MindsetMattersWVic I frequently consider posting to TT but refrain. I am concerned re: friends, work colleagues or other aquaintances finding my content. This is made rather plausible by TT having access to everyone's contacts and suggesting the accounts of "people you may know."

    This reminds me of a quote: "It never ceases to amaze me: we all love ourselves more than other people, but care more about their opinion than our own." - Marcus Aurelius I've felt this pretty acutely in the past, likely contributing to a bit of social anxiety. Over time however, I've gradually started caring quite less about external opinions or perceptions that would otherwise have me configuring my life out of a desire or need to belong in some way, or satisfy the approval of others, especially complete strangers. It really just came down to my imagination contorting my reality to assume that people care that much, when really they don't - and that's refreshing. It reinforces the objective of doing what I know and feel is best for me with the utmost confidence.

    :) Here are some 15 quotes for you ^_^: “Do not accept anything as the truth if it lacks love. And do not accept anything as love which lacks truth.” - Edith Stein (Auschwitz concentration camp) "Act as if everything depended on you; trust as if everything depended on God." - Ignatius of Loyola "The natural law is nothing other than the light of understanding placed in us by God; through it we know what we must do and what we must avoid. God has given this light or law at the creation." - Summa Theologica "Right is right even if no one is doing it; wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it." - Augustine "The nation doesn't simply need what we have. It needs what we are." - Edith Stein (Auschwitz concentration camp) "To seek God is the greatest adventure; to find Him, the greatest human achievement." - Louis de Montfort "Do not wish to be anything but what you are, and try to be that perfectly, have patience with all things, but first of all with yourself.” - Francis de Sales "God has arranged everything in the universe in consideration of everything else." - Hildegard of Bingen "Do everything for love. Thus there will be no little things: everything will be big. Perseverance in little things for Love is heroism." - Josemaría Escrivá "The most deadly poison of our time is indifference." - Maximilian Kolbe "Sin happens whenever we refuse to keep growing." - Gregory of Nyssa "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." - Mother Teresa "Cast yourself into the arms of God and be very sure that if He wants anything of you, He will fit you for the work and give you strength." - Philip Neri "The good man, though a slave, is free; the wicked, though he reigns, is a slave." - Augustine "Conscience has rights because it has duties." - John Henry Newman 🙂

    0:55 The *TRUST* you speak on is married (one with) faith that the providence of God has foreseen and made provisions of sufficient grace available to turn and receive grace and act now with it such that you may become more and more the very best version of yourself that is yet possible, through God, fittingly/ given all things. Yes it also rightly holds, in faith, that you are inherently valuable and worth the effort.

    I really, really like this saying honestly. Some may dismiss it as cliché, but at least in my life it's something I actually come across quite often, either hearing or reading it somewhere by chance - the quote just happens to find me, and I feel it's probably a sign. It's one of those situations where I feel as if somedays I'm waking up from a nightmare, only to still feel like I'm "in" the "nightmare" - if that makes any sense. I find myself questioning if everything I'm doing, have done, or everything that's happened to me, whether in or out of my control, to get to this point was even worth it. That can sound a bit grim, but I'm just trying to make sense out of the journey I've been on, and then I remember this quote and how often I get it, and just really try to manifest and work with the energy - staying present, not overthinking and trying to do the best I can with what I have in my control. It's the most I feel I can do, and I try to trust that things are happening for my highest good... but it's tough, I can't lie.

    • @MindsetMattersWVic
      @MindsetMattersWVic 15 днів тому

      Yes, I can so relate to "wanting to make sense of the journey." I really feel like it's not always our job to understand WHY, but to trust we can make it through! Thanks for sharing, as always :)

    I’ve been saying it for years the future of education is video games but not lame made for school low budget crap. But profound mind bendingly thought provoking triple A titles like Civilization, Cities Skylines, historically accurate war games that don’t romanticize gunplay, make them play thru a 4.5 hour sequence of crawling thru mud dragging a probably already dead friend to a medic tent, based off real writings and journals from WWI. Bioshock and Fallout for philosophy class. Age of Empires remakes with complete full and totally historically accurate campaigns. World of Warcraft for leadership coordination and social skills. It should be addictive as hell to go to school.

    Totally vibe with this - perfect timing where I'm at in life nowadays. Admittedly, I'd say I'm a bit of a "hermit" compared to many in our age bracket, especially the older I get, I find myself less enticed with a lot of the nonsense that people try to tag me in, and just strive to tune out all the noise - perhaps that just entails less friends in the process, but if I'm honest, not something that's ever concerned me a great deal, as if to feel a sense of lacking... and quite frankly, I'm far better off energetically to have cut ties with certain past people. It's definitely not a boring way to live in my opinion, regardless of what others may try to have you think/feel about it. I know of many who are in the same boat, and feel the same way - and maybe there's a reason we arrive to such a conclusion. Those who get it, get it, and there's no need to make others try to understand if they don't - just live your life.

I actually feel really energized when talking with others, but only when the connection is authentic and deep - the sooner the better! Finding ways to skip the small talk and start discussing real topics has become a major goal of mine when meeting people, whether they be strangers, coworkers or old friends. This isn’t my main channel, but I have to cut and cut and cut just to structure into one decent conversation

    It can be healthy, but beware as wives divorce good men for main character attention stimulation.

    Dating apps are good having taught me about the shallow nature of Westernized women. I think it is horrible for most women distracting them from finding a good man until it is too late.

      You are feeding the problem. A girl who looks like this and is put together isn't finding someone because she doesn't WANT to find someone. She is the problem she is complaining about. You think she didn't have at least 50, high class, eligible men that she completely brushed off? lmao. What a joke.

    You're young and pretty, so you have all the options you want. The apps aren't the problem (you are)

    8:15 Girls always say this and it makes 0 sense to me. Why would you ideal guy not be on a dating app? Damn near everyone has used one at this point. There's a lot of pickiness in this video that makes me think her standards are too high in general, online or offline. It comes off very "modern woman"

      Think about this way: The ideal man is tall, handsome, and an entrepreneur with an active social life. With this lifestyle, he naturally draws women's attention. However, the important part is that, out of all the women who chase him, he chooses only HER (OP) instead. And that's the women's fantasy, to be the 'special one'. And your conclusion is indeed right, she's very 'modern woman'.

    It sad to hear you. It should be so simple to meet a partner...if you want kids and a family. But i kind of understand the problem. I am writing a book on the topic. The subject of my book is alchemy. This is the nature of the problem: if you are living life in series, it will not work. If you lived life in parallel, you will meet tons of men and chose the right man for you. So there is hope...I cannot wait to finish my book ASAP. Then it will be the reason to bring people together and solve problems like yours.

    FWIW, I have observed that single women over 25 typically don't go to classes, public events, social events, etc. It's definitely not just you. I'd warn any women watching that having lunch once a month with a friend doesn't give guys a chance to meet you in real life.
