Running my brand new Mamod sp4 THANK YOU FOR 800 views
If you were a kid in the 1960’s, this would be the go to play thing, very cool traction engine
Runing good 👍
Nice
A cukoo clock that is AmAzInG
Lovely 😊
I love my D18. I replaced the light bulb with an LED lights array and they brighten to full with the engine running at about a third.
Some fantastic clocks in that museum. - Cheers Jim
Thanks I had a great time going there it’s amazing place I’d recommend it.
Hi! I’m just wondering did that engine come with that red steam lever? My D10 engine doesn’t have that and I’m curious if it’s possible to add something like that. Thanks!
Yes mine came from the factory with it back in the 60s a lot of people didn’t like that the d10 was uncontrollably fast so wilesco for a few years had a steam valve added to the engine but I’m guessing it wasn’t very popular so they removed it mine is a bit rarer if you could say because of the steam valve
@@Modelsteam-jw4wkWow! Interesting story. Thanks for the confirmation and you have a very nice model.
ua-cam.com/video/tFtsr1-l2vI/v-deo.html
Its always fun to unpack a new steam engine isn't it!
Indeed I love getting new engines for my collection
@@Modelsteam-jw4wk Its definitely an addiction, but a good one! Cheers Jim
Nice
Shame. But safety first. Thanks for the final salute
How much was that thing, and where did you buy it, I want one
It’s a wilesco d24 wilescos 3rd engine in the large line up of the 3 Bigs this engine was made in the early 60s and I bought it on eBay for $500 for the very pristine condition it is in Wilesco discontinued the d24 in 2021 but sometimes they tend to pop up on eBay now and then
@@Modelsteam-jw4wk dang, $500 is a little out of my price range, but I love it so much, I might just have to and get one
@@watchvideosok7441 good luck there is a late 50s d24 on eBay at the moment for $50 it’s in poor condition but it does run
@@Modelsteam-jw4wk okay I’ll look for it thanks for the tip
hahahahahahahahahhahahhahahahhahahahahahahahaha ale słabe
What change Between d5 and D6?
The d5 is a kit and the d6 is already built
@@Modelsteam-jw4wk ok , thanks
That is 😎 cool
I should call her
Watch the temp gauage closely.
It has electrical problems
They don't make them like that anymore.
She purrs beautifully
Yes she does running on 6 cylinders and backfiring every few seconds 🤣
Doll also built very beautiful steam engines. I have the 511/4 and the 335/1 in my collection. These probably won't be the only steam engines from this manufacturer that find their way into my collection. Doll has also produced beautiful drive models. Maybe you are interested in my doll playlist:ua-cam.com/play/PLZ2w-jCPx_bL7RqBI_mGhhFAH8-xqrBtE.html
Thank you I got this engine for a really good deal and I was lucky buying it because it’s was $100 in America it’s hard to find a doll under $200
I love the whistles on wilescos.
They sure do sound great
Beautiful engine! 😊
Thank you it’s a great engine I was extremely impressed when I got it as a present on Christmas it’s the largest engine I’ve owned and my favorite
Superb Wilesco D24, Excellent run....Steve
Thanks it really is a great engine I love mine and I hope you enjoy yours
That's got a lovely patina.....imagine the history of this engine. Looking forward to see it going.
Yes indeed I’m very happy about it It needs to have a steam pipe resoldered and the sight glass needs a new gasket
Looking on getting one soon mate and I’d like to know if you able to take that canopy off since the real on I look after has one on I I prefer with out 😅
On this one the canopy which isn’t detachable without taking apart the fire box new models you can take the canopy completely off
Nice I believe it’s a doll
Thanks I’ve been trying to find out what it is for days and no one has any idea of what it could be
@@Modelsteam-jw4wk It’s similar to one I have :)
@@Freespawn1 thank you very much I have always wanted to to collect engines like yours but there were so expensive I found this one for $100 and I thought it was a great deal I have asked a few friends to identify what it is exactly one of my friends said it was a larger bing upright and my other said it was a Josef falk but the frame for the valve gear is a very faded red
@@Modelsteam-jw4wk we all start somewhere just be careful it’s an addictive hobby :)
Nice engine!
It’s a beautiful engine. I’m very happy that I got it. Hopefully I’ll get running soon.
I have the same one
Nice is yours in great working condition?
Yes
It is brand new
Put it on your bedside table?
I’ve got one of those!
Yes mine is a very good engine it has never given me trouble until recently
@@Modelsteam-jw4wk what has happened to it
They always start first pull, even in the winter
THAT'S WHAT HONDAS DO.
Nice clock!
Yes indeed I really love it I’m currently stripping it down
Enjoy your model engine. My father bought me one of these in 1969. I still have it and it goes well.
I love my engine it’s great I’ve haven’t ran it in a long time but it’s still a great engine
does the movement work?
Nope I’m trying to restore it to working condition
@@Modelsteam-jw4wk ok!
This is really neat
It is a very lovely clock and I really like it
Had one a few years back, threw it away. Was in good nick. Only entertaining for children and those with smaller minds really.
You should have kept it these engines are worth a lot of money today
Nice engine
Yes indeed it ran very well last night I will run it again later when I get home
Great video. I expect it needed quite a big fire in it to get the boiler heated in such cold conditions!
I was running a very similar engine this afternoon. I was running a Wilesco D16
I enjoyed running my d18 cause today was a colder day and I could see the steam more in the air
@@Modelsteam-jw4wk Where I live, it was quite warm
@@jonesthesteam well I guess I got lucky I hope around Christmas time it gets so cold that I can steam it in the snow
@@Modelsteam-jw4wk So do I. I only got it last Christmas
I also subbed to your channel too
by the way I was the guy who put Carter Body's Larson's face on the ceiling fan by the way this is Ryan Wagner Daniel if your wondering
Thanks for supporting me I hope carter body Larson gets banned soon
@@Modelsteam-jw4wk same here and I am happy to support you
I can smell this video. Used to have pne.
I was choking in this video
That's awesome!
Ok now that’s cool😊
I was there
Wooooow!! Ok, I’m adding visiting that place to my bucket list!
You should! It’s a great place ma has lots of Steam history the weeden factory is In new Bedford and there is a working water plant in Woburn
@@Modelsteam-jw4wk cool
It’s a great little engine! This is what I did with mine: ua-cam.com/video/tXzpRL18aLg/v-deo.html
Your engine is lovely mine when I got it was brand new and was a mess I haven’t ran it in a while yours seems to be a 1969
Off topic, but the Boston Planetarium is on my bucket list.
Boston is a great city some places are nicer than others If you visit Massachusetts you should definitely checkout Edaville railroad it’s a 2ft line that goes through the cranberry bogs in Carver Massachusetts
@@Modelsteam-jw4wk ohhhhh that sounds good. I love small narrow gauge railways.
