What did unticking auto update in item properties do?
You could at least put a link to the xml in the description.
It's now found in Layer > Georeferencer
Thanks! For people with QGIS 3 (updates) The Georeferencer is not an external plugIn anymore its on the top toolbar Raster>GeoReferencer
This is so helpful! I'm currently taking up my master's degree and we have this course: GIS Mapping :)
I can't get the same georeferencer plugin on the version of QGIS I have dowloaded? I'm using 3.22.2. All I can find is Freehand Raster Georeferencing?
It's in the top toolbar under Layer - Georeferencer
Many thanks for your effort. I intend to pass the knowledge I receive from you to my students.
I am Noa from Souther Africa Mozambique Just amazing no doubt with your explanation thank you so much bro.
Thanks ..
Hi, my OpenLayers Plugin isn't working (it's available to install, but doesn't appear in the Plugin dropdown. I've added a script via Python Console to include numerous basemaps, but they include labels such as pharmacies, churches, building names, which get in the way. What is the best way to import the basic basemap similar to yours?
Thanks from Afghanistan
A very useful option that I teach on my beginner's QGIS course. It's been around for years, certainly in version 2.xxx onwards
Not good explanator, specially ro beginners
Where do you get the shape templates from, or do you have to make them yourself? Thanks for the info tho.
Great explanation!! Been using them for 10 years without knowing what they were. Thank you.
Great tutorial, though I'm not sure that I would be georeffing cars (moving-objects?) and trees (trunk/canopy?), 40 years in the surveying/mapping industry taught me something about accuracy, I guess.
Thank you so much!
Good Day, These sessions are super. Can you show us how to create a shp file from a kmz file? Thanks, Jim
Nice
Thank you Tyler. These videos were so helpful. I hope you continue with more :) :)
You mentioned a separate video about CRS setup, I can't see it on your channel, can you provide a link? Thanks, your videos are helpful!
can you tell me how many minutes and seconds into the video I say this so i can see what it referes to?

All good either way, but if you have done a video on CRS I'd be keen to see. Thanks.
Thisnk this would be the one. It was one of my old ones and i'd unpublished it.... ua-cam.com/video/e9S54Au25Gs/v-deo.html
@@QGISforEcologists thanks, that's super helpful.
Brill! Thanks for your help, im looking forward to making my first maps!
I don't think I would have figured this out myself! Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge!
Big thanks for posting this lecture!
Hello, great video! I would like to include a section with the position of my protected area in the country it is located, like a small reference in one of the corners of the map. Do you have any advice for this?
Thanks you. Watched the lessons. Now I will try and repeat with you.
Thanks so much for your great tutors. I finished all of them and find them very useful. I knew GIS better now and gained some insights of QGIS and I am ecologist so very lovely to see more of your videos on QGIS ecology topic!
Thanks you so much for taking time to help beginners like me! Great jobs!
Superb intro. Can't believe i've got to the end. More!!! It would be fab to get another vid (or suite of advanced vids) with some tips for handling/storing data, particularly when downloading from online repositories like OS, where datasets can be large and complex to handle. Thanks man.
Thanks
Many thanks for these tutorials. Fell confident now to create my first map.
Thanks again :) BTW, I had a problem with categorising my symbology until I tried taking blank data and replacing it with a <Null> before importing it again - I was very relieved when suddenly things made sense!
Very nice and clear. The way you showed the common error, how to fix things and avoid things are amazing!
This was a great explanation, really clear. Thank you
Great video. Thanks for the effort. May I know how you keep the map from rotating while georeferencing? For example I want to keep the map up as north instead of having it slightly rotated due to the inaccuracies of my picking the control points.
I appreciate your comment is very old but was wondering if you'd managed to work out how to stop the map rotating while georeferencing?
it is helpful to go through all features hat's let me know how to use tool, thank you
I learned so much from this video! Thank you! I feel much more comfortable with this program already. Really appreciate this recourse and your time!
I dont see the layer option. How can I add that?
View > panels > select "layers"
Just want to thank you really for taking the time to go over these points, which I appreciate can be quite dull to carry out but are as you say a very important part of the process. This is a wonderful series and worthy of some financial rewards considering the price of QGIS training
Please make some videos on tom bio tools which is important for ecology use.
Excellent work
Thanks so much for doing these videos. Very clear and very helpful indeed. Stay Safe!
Learnt a lot from this. Thank You
Many thanks for this (and the others in the series). I'm in the middle of writing a management plan and was very pleased to be able to drop a map from 1614 onto my modern OS map using Georeferencer. It fits beautifully! I never appreciated quite how skilled map makers were over 400 years ago. We really do have it easy and your informative and clear videos make it even easier!
Good one! Thanks for sharing this!
Never missed a single video worth watching
Best explanation ❤
Great work
Thank you so much for this. Extremely useful. It would be nice to have an extra lesson on symbology.
Thanks for doing these, its really appreciated!
