10 Forgotten American Muscle Cars Every Muscle Car Lover Should Know About
The Ford 4.6,3 different versions and no interchange going by the 8th vin.Romeo parts fit Romeo only,Windsor is Windsor only and Police Interceptor is by itself
Chevy straight 6 should have been on that list. My 4.1 has 300000 on her and still no oil burn. Never been apart.
The slant 6 was definitely built to last… unfortunately the vehicles they were put in weren’t. It explains why so many of them ended up being used to run irrigation pumps or generators.
Ah, the venerable slant 6. Can't kill em if you wanted to. My favorite.
Little surprised fords Windsor based engine (289/302) wasn’t on the list. It was in production for almost 40 years and was used in many applications.
Good old engines… they were tough as nail….
@@EconomyEmpire132 good old days!
Engines now can't even make it 100k miles.…

They used to be tough unlike now a days! 😢
Great info. Thanks!
You bet!
I can't agree with anyone who says Coupee.
😮😮😮😮
😮😊
No real male would disapprove of a 68/69 GP. That's just wrong, and the Blue book will agree.
The Grand Prix? Seriously? this guys full of it. These things sold exceptionally well. He doesn't seem to know what a "Personal Car" was, which nearly all had these dimensions and we're just as gaudy. Thunderbirds, Rivieras, Toronados etc.
A Mustang 2! Glenn
Coupee? Lol
i just can't agree with some. Especially the cuda.
Totally agree! I love the looks of 2/3rd of these cars. I have never been much of a fan of anything AMC. And I would debate the use of the term "Muscle Car" for most of these cars, I can t think of anything built after 72 that could live up to the name muscle car.
bro has no idea what he is talking about, not of these cars is a muscle car
Any pontiacs after 69 always looked really weird with the headlights and grills being very weirdly proportioned, I actually really liked the trim on the gran coupes, maybe not the roof
@@mikhailkalashnikov3400 agreed!
72 grand prix was aggressive
I for one think American manufacturers were right to downsize their early generation muscle and pony cars, which had blown up to huge dimensions in the early 1970s. The Mustang II seemed to be a failed attempt to turn the Mustang into a 2+2 sports cars like the Datsun 240Z. The same size inflation is noticeable in the pony cars of the last 20 years, which are generally longer, wider, and 500 pounds heavier than some 80s and 90s models. I've never really understood why American manufacturers have generally shied away from small, affordable 2-seat or 2+2 sports cars to compete with Nissan Z cars and the Porsche 911. The few that come to mind - the Pontiac Fiero, Solstice, etc. - weren't produced for very long.
And you have to remember the Fireo and Solstace didnt come out until the mid 80's and early 2000's respectively. The 70's Mustang II seems like an evolutionary step that gave us the Fox body, which currently has a cult like following.

Why they were producing these ugly cars back then?
You had to live though it to appreciate it. Honestly I think the 90's were worse.
These are some ridiculously ugly cars! 😂
I hate 69 Charger RT's! Not really, but I owned a 69 Dodge Coronet RT back in the seventies, and I always thought they looked better, and were just as fast. Everyone back then always liked Chargers and although I did too, it always Pee'd me off. Now I am older and wiser, and I get it now. Still miss my Coronet RT though. 😁Thanks for the video!

What a beauty!
This car defines the American muscle cars history.
That car was/is trash. I watched it "race" The ass end jumped around like a Pogo-stick.
Very sceptical of that 215 mph claim that gets made for this car (not just on this channel). Cars like the Shelby Daytona Coupe, AC's own Le Mans Cobra coupe and Aston Martin's Project 215 were all topping out at around 185 mph, and to me they look more aerodynamic than this. OK, power plays a big part in top speed, but the Jaguar XK220 developed 542bhp and had a much more aerodynamic body (including flat underside with venturi tunnels) yet had a similar top speed to what's claimed for this. Then there's the fact that Ferrari, Aston and Shelby all found that they needed rear spoilers to keeps cars stable at 170mph+ added to the fact that the owner of the red Cheetah shown here running at Goodwood says that his car starts getting light at the front at just 90 mph...
Apparently it occurred at the Daytona speedway. You can Google this.
@@jasonolszanicky4035 Thanks for the info. But all I can find is stated figures with no information on how that speed was measured. Bear in mind that SSC originally claimed their Tuatara had done 331 mph - and then later admitted that was an error and it hadn't. In fact it was way off and in a subsequent run managed 283 mph. So without corroboration from an accurate measuring system I'm still sceptical.
But what happens when a independent competition Chevy powered sports car; who's factory didn't burn down, And has time to refine; and race the Cobra? Take a look ay Jim Hall and his Chappals' Home designed & built. The other Sports Car that changed racing forever..
Turn down the music a bit
Why does his voice turn you on or something? I can hear just fine

Fucking lies. Bullshit, heavy cars, gas guzzling, even tempest was heavy as hell. Nothing new, old engine design and layout that stayed the same till the 90s. Pontiac exhaust ports were junk. 90 degree exit.
