"Legends Never Die." - Psyké Underground in Planet Coaster 2 - TEASER
A teaser video showing off custom animated wheel assemblies and hinting at a custom roller coaster train for a realistic, hyperdetailed remake of Psyké Underground.
This coaster, and mostly its theme mean a lot to me, and while the coaster still exists, seeing the thing that made it good in the first place be removed, it's awesome theme, it's genius story, hurts.
I will welcome the new Turbine with open arms, but Psyké Underground will always be missed. 😞

      The train I know from the back of my head as I've remade it twice already for non-Planco things, and the lay-out requires a mod that I am playtester for to get swing launches:) No worries! This mod, just like Planet Coaster 1 track mods, works perfectly on unmodded games too! And if Frontier doesn't allow mod uploads anymore I'll make a specific unmodded version for the workshop:) If this was an ironic statement, then thank you so much! I loved making it! I adore this ride!

    Game is so pathetic in how many shortfalls, missing features and half assed features like switch tracks etc. So sad. I wanted PC1 (the most recent version, not an alpha version) PLUS new content. Instead we got an alpha PC1 from 5-6 years ago with a few new features. Sucks.

      that's far from the truth, plus this argument makes no sense in context of this video, the entire point is showing off the extra engineering this game has, the amount of new stuff this game has strongly outweighs the few missing things.

    As far as programming goes, it's fairly easy to just get it to "work". However, the game relies on block sections for collisions, calculations, and more such as trigger sequences. They would have to entirely rework their trigger system to allow us to be able to trigger scenery with coasters.. the amount of work is not trivial and the concepts are beyond that of "just make it work". The video is great and really cool to see but I would refrain from making blanket statements like "frontier doesn't need to do that much programming" because that's entirely false.

      All I say is relative to the statement I make in the video saying I used to think it was impossible. I am pretty aware how coding works, the point I am trying to make is that the engine is already capable of handling the coaster tracks, which used to be the common point why people assumed they might not be able to add swing launches, this being possible means it is possible without more wild workarounds, the switch tracks are already oddly overengineered for their current capabilities which leads us to think they are already being prepared for the next step, this is all speculation, which also doesn't mean they will get added eventually, but they already seem designed to be able to be given swing launch functionality in a future stage to some degree. But that still isn't the point of this video, the point is to show that coasters can handle them purely coaster-functionality wise, which is huge for the game in which it used to be "impossible to add special track elements like switch tracks" in the first place, according to its own developers.

    Hello! Just thought I'd try to clear up how this actually works and what's happening here: From what I can understand, if there multiple pieces that can be connected to at one point in the track, the game always chooses to send the train through whichever one was connected the earliest. What's happening here is that before the turntable has moved, the switchtrack has the connection to the spike. Once the turntable has moved to face the spike, the switchtrack moves out of and then back into position, making it so that the turntable was 'connected' earlier and therefore the connection is 'given' to the turntable. This allows the train to be launched up the spike from the turntable. As soon as the turntable starts moving back, it loses the connection and gives it back to the switch, allowing the train, which is now going back down the spike, to pass over the switchtrack and into the rest of the layout. This leaves the whole system in the same state it started in! The trick that essensially made this possible was the fact that you can align pieces of track to the straight part of the switchtrack, allowing you to make a break in the track and reconnect it simply by sending a train through it. The fact that this is even possible shows the game is really overengineered for the intended features we have now, which could hopefully be a sign that we will get intentional swing launches in the future! *_intamin blitz when_*

    How is this possible? Every time I attempt a shuttle design for any of the launch coasters, it always valleys.

      You can use LSM hold sections to make a pull up spike:) this thing also just barely works, if you want to make one yourself (please do;)) you can download it for the specific design principles! Ignore the launch track before the spike, it's a backwards launch just for visual appeal but it's not needed and I also grew to dislike it haha, it just needs a lot of testing to make sure it makes it around, but most importantly, to make sure it makes it back through the first launch track! :D it's great fun an looks fantastic though! (Besides of the silly trains unfortunately:p)

    Small note, your block sections won’t work properly when you’re using this thechnique, only the block sections after the spike will work

      yes, 6 car trains required though:) Usually for some reason the game catapults 6 car trains off of the tilt segment *for some reason* but all I do now is catch the train instead of letting it fly:)

      I don't know if a bug is the right way to describe this either, since games usually don't decide to launch specifically one car of a 6 car long train of their tracks haha 😆 Feels like Frontier ran into a road block that didn't allow 6 cars on their tilt track for some reason and they decided to at least get a good laugh out of it 🤣 Anyways, thank you so much for checking my coaster out!

      @shawn41251 it uses the odd decision of Frontier where 6 trains for some reason get catapulted off of the tilt track, instead of letting them catapult off however, simply att some track like with the spike method to catch it back:)
