Thank you for your support and Merry Christmas to you.
Merry Christmas from San Diego, Ca. After you showed the 2 pieces of wood and the brass rod I thought it was a stand for something. With the length of the rod I thought maybe a stand for headphones. A little after 8 minutes you can back with a cut rod and I thought watch stand. I’ve seen a few people working them into projects but since I’m retired and time doesn’t drive my life anymore I’ve stopped wearing watches so wouldn’t even think of this. Thanks for sharing and have a safe holiday!
Thankyou for at least try to guess. Thank you for your support by watching and commenting. A big Merry Christmas to you from Manchester.UK.

Really cool I reckon..😊
I thinks so too. Thanks for watching
Tell us what paper you use please?
I used 120 grit on this project. Thanks for watching 👍
@ the brand name please?
@@rockysprogs Trend
Love it, the measuring thing (in steel fabrication terms) was / is known as accumulative error.
Thanks for watching 👍
When you change the belts on the sander, is that because they are different grades?🤔
Thank you for watching. Yeah, I had to change from 120 grit back to 80 grit then back to remove more material. 👍
@ All good, thank you!
Thats brilliant, deffo going to do one
Glad you liked it. It's definitely worth ago. Thanks for watching 👍
Super idea, love it. What walnut stain did you use as im hoping to get some pine stained that colour. Thanks
Thank you for taking the time to watch our content. Glad you liked it. The stain 8 used was Morrells walnut light fast stain.
Nice clock that you've made. I have made a wooden clock before, about 20 or 25 years ago. Mine was made using a cross-section of a tree cut from a friend's property. I forget the type of tree, maybe birch. I routed out an area in the back to hold the clock mechanism & stuck its boss for holding the hands through a drilled hole to the face on the other side. Then I made a pattern so I could make a clock face by drilling a hole & plugging it with a dowel for the 12 hour numbers. I gave it an oil finish.
Thanks for your continued support. I thought it was a good use of these off cuts. It has taken me back to the old days, very simple piece 👍
Very nice clock
Thanks for watching and kind words 🙏
Very 60s design, looks good
Thanks for watching. Yeah, I get that. But i put some scrapwood to use rather than in the bin. My wife has claimed it. So win, win.👍
Great video Red, Loved the final finished clock. Like you when I use a wet finish it puts my small 8ft x 10ft workshop out of action whilst it dries so a solution I found to that was to buy a big square storage bin and lid. I use the lid s the base to stand the job on and spray or paint etc then I pop the bin over the top and the piece is nicely protected whilst it dries with enough air inside the bin to help the drying process. Have a great Christmas
Thank you for your comments and the brilliant idea. My problem is I have a lot of stuff in my shop, and the surface area is a limited. This is due to me not cleaning up regularly. 👍👍
@@redsworkshopuk I have the same issue my workshop is shameful to look at at the moment so I've closed the doors and might wait until spring before I go back in lol
Reminds me of a mantle clock my gran had on her fireplace
Being honest, that's where I got the idea. Thanks for watching, though 👍
I'm going to make this a Christmas present for someone.
Glad to here it. Thank you for watching
A win for me...
It's a simple but yet useful piece. Thanks again for your support 👍
@redsworkshopuk Channel is growing fast, well deserved 👌
Yep, that's on my list to make now ta
Thank you for watching.
Looks good but I think the Angle could do with increasing to maybe 15° to give it a better stance, But then it wouldn't be a Table without squaring up the legs to sit flat so Plant stand it is 🙂
Thank you for Watching and commenting.
Definite win. I think I'll make one this weekend. Cheers I have so much scrap wood. I like these little projects to use it up instead of just tossing them out.
This is a great small scrapwood project. Thanks so much for watching
Another great video thanks 😀
Thank you, so glad you liked it.
I prefer the look of the refinished chopping block. Once it's refinished, signs of its work use seem to disappear. My guess is the oak one would have shown less wear than the pine if both had three years of use. My wife has an old bamboo cutting board that could use some work. I have the mineral oil, but not yet a food-safe wax.
you can make super easy food safe wax on your own - just take 1 part wax and 3 parts normal cooking oil, heat it up until it melts and combines (you can do this in a small jar in water bath in a pot), let it cool, and apply... this ofc will be dismissed by all "pros" as "haha, cooking oil, you have to use food safe mineral oil you doofus", but you know what - it works and is dirt cheap and easy to make...
Personally, I like them both, but i was glad how the customers board turned out and so was my customer. There are plenty of videos here on YT that show you the recipe for making your own. Sounds like you would just need the beeswax. you could order that from amazon.
The oak one looks too good to be a chopping board, looks fantastic.. Mind your hand with the fire 🔥
The jury has always been out regarding the oak board. I have done so many over the years. Also, thank you for your concern regarding the fire. rest assured, no fingers were hurt during the filming. Ha Ha.
Brilliant mate, just found ur chanell, will b subscribing. Can u show how u made jig 4 feet keep up the good work and thanks 4 shareing.
Thank you for subscribing and watching our video, the jig was made from off cut of plywood and some small pieces of 2 x 1. really easy.
Another useful item made from practically nothing. It looks good & could have several different uses. The dark stripes really enhance its look.
Being honest, i didnt think it would turn out as good as it did. Thanks for watching.
No wonder you've got sticky fingers
When i glue up,everything gets sticky 🤣🤣
Another great project 😀
Thank you 🤗
Very nice project, looks really good! Great job!
Thank you for Taking the time to watch our channel and comment.
Makes great table legs
I agree, they would need to be a little bit taller though. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful piece, and all from scrap too,I'm sure it will be a great addition to the dinner table
I hope they like it also, they will be receiving it over the weekend. Thanks for watching.
Excellent work matey. Just from scraps aswell. Simple and effective. Bob on!👍👍👍 It's giving me inspiration to get out there and knock something up. Keep it up.
Thank you for watching. Thankyou for your comments also.
That's quite good mate it could be either table or stand or even a hop up brilliant idea looks well made aswell 👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for watching.👍.
when i got into woodwork used to potter making coasters and t light candle holders it keeps you busy been creative too
nice grain on the items you made too
Thankyou for watching, I love pottering around in the shop. Still surprising when an idea turns out OK.
great saving money doing it yourself. i used to make lots of rustic mirrors out of pallet wood and 5x2 and 6x2 and gave them away as gifts to family and friends. bought a few new tools i not even used a makita 1/4" router kit and a makita 1/2" router 3hp and a jet planer thiskneser. got a makita micro adjust fence deliverd today too. pintrest and etsy are good for ideas of things to make. i seen a rustic mirror on ebay they wanted £150 i made it and only cost £10 in wood and used an old mirror. you can go to car boot sales and buy cheap mirrors for the glass and make your own frames. have a good day mark from leeds
Mark, thankyou for your comments and great ideas. 👍
Another nice project. With enough materials, you could make two, one for plants, the other a small. Two would also make a nice base for a coffee table.
I agree, Thanks for your support 👍
When you started the glue up I was thinking a small occasional table too,but I do like it as a plant stand
I thought it might be a bit to big. But I'm glad how it turned out.
I forget to record, or switch the mic on, or the camera shuts off part way through 😆
Yeah, It made the video a little harder to make as I had to keep checking. Thanks for watching 👍
Love the new intro
Thankyou. 🙏
Very nice love the salted wood
Thankyou for watching 🙏
Cute little box ,great use of scraps, well done As for those two off cuts from the table build what about a matching plant pot stand ?
Thanks for your comments .Plant Pot stand is not a bad shout. Thankyou.
