i would LOVE to see you recreate the "Bonedog" scene from the Kaufman film "I'm thinking of Ending Things." Its such a heartfelt poem that feels so real, and right up your alley. Link: ua-cam.com/video/jMCsxctvSoQ/v-deo.html

It suddenly occurred to me that the bulk of Taylor Swift concert tickets would not get purchased without Daddy's money.

Honestly, it's just kinda sad that people like this have to go through life that way. It sucks to feel bad, but unless it's a constant 24/7 experience it's still better than having no emotional response at all.

Yeah, that's why most of our countries have strong social safety nets & free health care while you shrug at your kindergarteners having to do active shooter drills.

@@mariaaguadoball3407 I agree that the person you responded to is full of shit, but it doesn't make the following comparison any less nonsensical. The USA came into being in a world where guns already existed and many, many people already had one whether it was for killing predators that ate their livestock, protecting their person and property from less scrupulous individuals, or because they were part of a militia. European countries have had a big headstart on dealing with these kinds of problems because they were well established before guns were even a though in any of their citizen's minds. And I don't know that anybody over there ever had any kind of intrinsic right to posess or use a firearm to being with... Not to mention it almost certainly started out as a military technology.

@@jnharton Tbf, most Americans desperately want better gun control. It's that you tolerate your government kowtowing to an unhinged minority we can't fathom.

@@mariaaguadoball3407 Maybe you should educate yourself on how other countries' governments operate? Our biggest problems are created by a lack of consensus among the separate states on matters that do not fall under the federal government's purview. Did the EU mandate that the UK have the gun laws that it does (prior to Brexit)? Would you let France or Germany tell you how to do things? The US might be considered a "country", but in many ways the day to day situation is more like the EU. Texas has different laws than California than New York than Michigan, and so on. Unless the federal government pressures everyone into a particular approach/action by threatening to withhold federal funds for some important thing, there is very little keeping two adjacent states from having rather different laws. P.S. We have government (and laws) at the federal, state, county, municipal level. And while lower levels generally need to be compliant with higher ones, the laws and government of the state we live in are usually much more personally important than the federal ones which primarily regulate relations between states.

@@jnharton It's amusing that you're telling me to educate myself when you are clearly unaware that many of our countries are made up of autonomous regions or even smaller nations with devolved governments of their own. And these regions/countries usually have differences in culture and language as well. But on top of that, we also manage to have the EU government, which represents 27 member states with a combined population that's 100m more than the US's. Yet we manage to get things done. Stop making excuses for yourselves.
