How to Experience Vang Vieng’s Beauty WITHOUT the Party Crowd 🇱🇦
Today we’re taking the train to Vang Vieng from Luang Prabang. Vang Vieng is a small, picturesque town nestled along the Nam Song River in central Laos, approximately 150 kilometres north of the capital, Vientiane. Known for its stunning limestone karst mountains, lush green landscapes, and relaxed atmosphere, it has become a popular destination for travellers seeking adventure, natural beauty, and cultural experiences.
So the first stop for us at Vang Vieng is to climb the famous Nam Xay mountain. Nam Xay Mountain is one of the most iconic and breathtaking attractions in Vang Vieng, Laos. Renowned for its stunning panoramic views, the mountain offers a rewarding adventure for travellers seeking natural beauty and a bit of physical challenge.

Thanks for the video Lu. It does indeed look as though you arrived on a good day. I was there after the horse races and not long after the old town had burnt in a large fire around a decade ago. There was a small temple on a hilltop nearby where I looked back towards the Dali lake which may have been forming a cumulus nimbus cloud.
