Aspiring Composer, studying Music Education at Ole Miss! I used to stream on Twitch, and hope to get back to doing that again when I have better internet. Right now the focus is on music! I hope you'll come along with me on this journey as I grow both as a composer and performer. Performance videos to come soon!

Waltz Through Paris WORLD PREMIERE!!!
This piece was premiered by The Greenbrier High School Saxophone Quartet, Evans GA, at the end of April this year!
I'm so thankful and grateful for having had the opportunity to come hear these wonderful, talented musicians perform my Waltz at their Columbia County School District's "Arts at the Plaza" Fine Arts Showcase. I'm extremely thankful to both the members of the quartet and their director for coordinating with me and putting this piece together so beautifully!
Having the opportunity to attend their concert was a memory I'll not soon forget, and I hope there's many more music making opportunities in this group's future!

Hello everyone! This is the WORLD PREMIER of Thunderstorm, played at the International Navy Band Saxophone Symposium! This was truly a blast and such an incredible experience! Huge shoutout to my fellow quartet members for making this dream a reality, couldn't have done it without you guys! While there definitely were some mistakes, I'm happy with the performance overall. I hope you all enjoy! ...

Original Composer: Katsuo Ono Original Arranger: Saxofox Performance Video: ua-cam.com/video/ZHneGHUbDiE/v-deo.htmlsi=ZDPLzUB6UAsCxVHU I originally transcribed this quartet when I was 16 years old, and posted it to Musescore. I've since updated and corrected a lot of things. I've also noticed a couple videos floating around on youtube of my original, horrible transcription, so I figured, why no...

This arrangement was inspired by Tim Waurick's rendition of Fred King's arrangement of Ebb Tide, originally by The Righteous Brothers! Check out Tim's channel here: www.youtube.com/@TimWaurickMusic/featured I originally arranged this in MuseScore 3, but wanted to see how it sounded in 4. I really enjoyed it, and I hope you do too! As unfortunately is the case with MuseScore 4 right now, if you ...
Saxophone Quartet: Waltz Through Paris

I imagine a couple walking down the streets of Paris, having a conversation. The back and forths between the melody lines could represent this, and the changes in modes (major and minor) could be different storefronts they might come across on a date. Just some ideas I'm envisioning while listening. Let me know what you hear/imagine while listening! Hope you enjoy! (Reupload for better audio)
Thunderstorm Saxophone Quartet by Eric Harper

We've recently been experiencing heavy thunderstorms and tornado warnings across our nation. This piece is about both the emotions and actual sounds we might hear during a potential crisis. At first, its just a storm (Noise), then there's a bit of a peace before it gets bad (Calm), then a Tornado Warning is issued (Panic), and lastly, just as quickly as the warning came, it's over (Relief). The...
Sorrow by Eric Harper

I began writing this piece shortly after my wife and I experienced a miscarriage about a year ago. It was a solemn time for us. There's a sprinkling of hope within the piece, but it is overtaken again by grief. I feel the emotion of sorrow is something we can all relate to personally... And if nothing else, sometimes beauty can transpire from sadness..

Try the interactive tutorial, or download the Sheet music here: musescore.com/user/206303/scores/8431064?from=youtube_share This is a Sonata I wrote when I found out some really good news about my life and I was in a really good mood. Mood really does affect how music is written, at least for me. I hope this brings you a smile or two :)
Serenity by Eric Harper

The interval from scale degree 5 to 3 (up the octave) has always sounded serene to me. Hence the title "Serenity" and the main motif nearly always containing that interval. Hope you enjoy!
Saxophone Quartet in C Minor by Eric Harper

This is a fun little piece I wrote quite some time ago, but I initially lost the entirety of the written score. I was left with only an MP3 file (that I thankfully had exported and emailed to myself back in 2018). This is the transcription of my long lost quartet, finally brought back to life. Hope you enjoy!!!
Bottled Up by Eric Harper
Переглядів 1,3 тис.2 роки тому
This is a piece about what it feels like when you bottle up your emotions. Tension grows in the music to reflect that, then a sort of angry, detached "climax" to reflect the releasing of bottled up emotion occurs. Lastly the piece ends in fully major, after going through some rougher harmonies, which is indicative of how you feel after releasing bottled up emotions. Hope you enjoy!
0 dislikes for a reason👍
this piece is so good but you only have 300 subs some reason
That soprano tone is amazing
Very cool saxboss, and the talented young men playing. ❤
This sounds great!!!!
Thanks Bobby! They did a great job with it!
I actually got to world premier this piece, it was awesome.
You guys played very well!
this piece reminds me a lot about paper mario sticker star music, very very good👍
Thank you so much!
This is phenomenal! Good job man!
Thank you so much!! 😊
Killing it!
Thank you! 😊
Soprano sounds like a clarinet
Beautiful intonation, pitch, and tone quality. When I played soprano as a joke after playing the tenor for 4 years, the soprano sounded like a bassoon from an elementary schooler player😭 Another reason why I believe soprano saxophonist are so talented when they have good tones. And also why I’ll probably never play the soprano again:’)
Oh my gosh i have been waiting to see someone preform this since i first discovered the song a few months ago and my hopes were answered and more! Absolutely AMAZING performance!!!
Thanks so much for the positive words! It truly was a dream come true!!
Thinking about taking a stab at the Tenor Sax part... Gotta go back to the score for that one.
@@bigfatbrick9211 Use your front fingerings for F and E in the "C" section for those triplet runs!!
Sounds good, gonna start working on that soon, i'd try my hand at that soprano part as well but that thing is INSANE to say the least! Serious props to the soprano player for making it through the ending!
@@bigfatbrick9211 it definitely is difficult 😂😂 he definitely did a great job with it!
Absolutely STELLAR performance! Super proud of you, and happy that you've found some fellow players to link up with too! All of you did a sick job! Stoked to see where this goes!
Thanks man! That means a lot! It’s been awesome to finally be getting back into music 🎶 Hope you’re doing well! Any new projects going on with you I can check out?
Well if ya haven’t listened to Lead Blanket or The Third Knell, those are my projects! Me and Ralph are finishing up our EP as we speak, and Lead Blanket is a solo side project. All of the current Third Knell stuff is on my channel, and Lead Blanket is on all streaming services! I think you’d like The Killing Game from Lead Blanket specifically, there’s some fun parts I’m proud of in that one!
@@Vioscillate I'll definitely check it out! Glad to hear you guys are still making music.
Is there a pdf version of this quartet I could download?
Thanks for your interest! After rehearsing/performing the piece, I've realized the official score needs some edits. I'm also deciding whether or not to build a website to list this and other scores for purchase, or to register with J. W. Pepper and list it there. But either way, know I am working on a solution to this as quickly as I can. I am a full-time University student though, so, bear with me!
All good! I remember hearing the musescore/online instrument recording about a year ago and I had been interested in playing it since. Solo and Ensemble is coming up soon but since I am a junior I could always play it next year.
That's fackn amazing bro
Glad you like it!!
Uh what's the instrumentation for this?
Satb, but I posted this in concert pitch like a noob 😂
so good
holy smokes
Love this upbeat piece
It’s certainly a fun one!
yooo ive been in love with that vid tysm for the transcription
It’s a really great performance isn’t it? You’re welcome ❤️
What do I search up to get videos just like this. Like I want to watch more sax quartets with this style. Please someone tell me
1:30 also can I point out that g# of the alto made me ascend to heaven
I’m not sure what to tell you as far as searching quartets with this style, unfortunately. People have written a lot of good quarters on UA-cam though! Maybe just try “original saxophone quartets” and peruse those. I also really like the G# in the alto part at 1:30, thank you! 😀
Tell me you're a bass clarinet player without telling me you're a bass clarinet player.
I’m actually primarily an alto sax player 😂 But I do enjoy the bass clarinet.
@saxboss9738 yea I can tell. There's zero reason bass clarinet should have the same part as tenor sax. Unless you are A. A bass clarinet player and want them to have an exciting part. Or B. A novice composer and I don't believe B is the case here.
@@jetsettech8804 I envisioned the first iteration of ebb tide to be a quartet of flute, clarinet, tenor sax, and bass clarinet. Unless I’m mistaken, I don’t believe the tenor sax and bass clarinet actually have the same part at any time. Could you point out which measures they might be sharing so I can look at it again?
@@saxboss9738 wait, this is marching band isn't it? I've never seen a bass clarinet on marching band, and a bass clarinet part so high.
@@jetsettech8804 I mean, I’ve seen plenty of bands march bass clarinets. Also, I highly doubt anyone will ever actually play this. I’ll double check the range. Any measure in particular I should revisit?
Great Arrangement!! I would love to see if you could write this for saxophone quartet? -Justin
I definitely could try!!
this is a good song keep up the hard work!
Thanks man!
King of transitions!
Thank you for the support!
Oh my goodness this is a GOREGOUS piece!!! Do you think it would be available for purchase any time soon? I would love to have my quartet play this!
Thank you so much! I’m still working on that. I’m trying to get a website built for that very purpose. But I’m also in school, and I just had a baby, so my life is very busy right now. But I am working on it!!
@@saxboss9738 Of course!! Talk all of the time you need, i feel you!

May I make a string quartet arrangement of this? With all due credit given of course.
Sorry I didn't see this! Sure! Make sure you send me a link when its up, I'd love to hear it!
Love it!!!
Thank you so much!!
id love to play this song with a few of my friends (i dont have any, its actually myselfx4) is there a way you could give me a pdf/muse file for this song so i could play it?
Hey! Thanks so much for your interest. I’m working on a website where I can put all my scores on it where they will be available for purchase: I’ll be sure to message you back when that’s up and running!
Excellent work! This piece shows originality, craftspersonship and professionalism. It's clear that you have studied theory and that you have a great instinct for compisition
Thank you so much! Glad you like it!
were can i buy this?
It’s not available for purchase yet, but, I am working on a website that will have all of my scores available for purchase. Hopefully I’ll have it up by the end of the year. I’ll message you again when it’s up. Thanks for your interest!
@@saxboss9738 are you ok if i write this exactly how you did it for free or would you like me to pay?
Very cool!
Thank you!
Wonderfully written
Thank you so much!
There are, again, some notational oddities in this piece because of the way that Musescore 4 interacts with playback. If I didn't write some of this like its written, there would be some... weird sounds played. Sorry for any inconvenience in legibility.
Please don't tell me if this is A I
It's definitely not AI, I wrote it ❤
I love this so much I've listened to it 20 times already!
Thank you so much! More to come, soon :)
There are some notational "oddities" in this piece because of the way that Musescore 4 playback interacts with certain dynamic changes. Like the soprano line in m. 20, for example. That could easily be written as a whole note instead of a dotted half tied to two eighths. But MS4 doesn't like Fp's so sometimes you have to do this to get the sound you're looking for. And the glissando's in m 47 in the soprano and alto lines being written as two eighths tied together instead of just a quarter note, same idea. Just for those of you who were wondering 😄
Noteflight does the same thing, except Noteflight doesn't even know what a forte piano is and doesn't do it
Writing so I can jump to 1:52 to practice that part.
This is absolutely captivating - Is there a chance this could be adapted for woodwind quartet?
I'm sure it could be! The issue for me personally doing that is I know saxophone fingerings, but not the other woodwinds. I know this is playable for saxophones, albeit some parts are tough. I have no idea about the others... Right now anyways. I intend to learn, though!
I'm getting my bassoon performance masters degree and am looking to start a graduate woodwind quartet with other graduate students - I think if the SATB saxes were respectively rewritten as Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, and Bassoon, then these parts would certainly be feasible for an advanced Collegiate quartet, and could be a piece to study for an intermediate Collegiate group. Hope this helps!
@@lumensnn That does help! I’ll look into it and play around with it and see what I come up with. Maybe I could send it to you and you could at least proof the bassoon part? I’m going into the last part of my semester with finals right around the corner though so it may be a minute lol
I’m obsessed with this
Thank you ❤️
Most amazing quartet piece I’ve heard, really inspired me. Keep up the good work
Wow! Thank you for the high praise!
Most among quarter piece I’ve heard. Really inspired me to keep composing. Keep up the good work
This is amazing! I was just wondering are you playing this or is it the software? When I used musescore, the instruments sounded fake, so I was wondering how they sound so good?
This is the newest version of Musescore, Musescore 4! Their sound library is incredible! There are a bit of weird interactions that you have to get used to, especially dynamically. But, overall it’s very good! I highly recommend checking it out!
Thanks!
Beautiful
Thank you! 😁
Great stuff!
Thank you!
Could you give us this link so I can print this and learn with my friends? Thanks!
Hey! Thank you for your interest! Here is the link to my musescore page: musescore.com/user/206303 However, I don’t have downloads enabled right now because I’m working on getting the piece commissioned first. I want the first public performance of the work to be either my own quartet or a quartet group that I endorse, with it also being professionally recorded. After that takes place, I will more than likely enable downloads. I’ll send you a message once that happens. Thanks for your understanding, patience, and interest! I appreciate you.
@@saxboss9738 do let me know when you’ll allow for this piece to be played! im really interested in playing this together with my quartet.
