I didn’t say he doesn’t appreciate, I said it’s not accepted. Maybe I could’ve been clearer. But I meant that no amount of hard work is accepted to get salvation. Oftentimes we can stress about doing everything the right way that we forget to do it with God’s help. Jesus has done the hard work, we should let Him work through us.

It’s always accepted

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:8-10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Yes, we are called to be like Christ. But no amount of my hard work is acceptable to get into heaven. I can work hard, but that’s not what saves me. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. I actually think these are all fair questions. A lot of times in the Bible God does things out of a principle not because he just had the power to do something. He could’ve never created Satan and then never had to deal with him. God allows for free will choice but that also means whatever consequences happen because of that. You’re correct he wouldn’t need rest, but also perfect beings (Adam & Eve) wouldn’t need rest either. They wouldn’t have stress or be tired. That tells me that even then if there was a purpose for rest then there’s definitely a need for it today.

@@heidionmusic There's also nothing actually important about rest. Rest itself is proof of flaws and nothing else. Humans just can't go on forever and neither can anything else, but if we could there would be not a single thing good about rest. If you're spending quality time with your friends and family do you just stop and lay down for 6 hours because you want to? If you could ride roller coasters, eat your favorite foods, run around, play sports, watch TV, go to work, play videogames, go to the mall, text your friends, have sex and so on literally forever without feeling any negative side effects then why would you ever stop or slow down? A perfect being could and would just keep going. You might use an argument that God may have wanted time to reflect, but why would he? He's God. An all knowing, all powerful being doesn't need to reflect or rest in any way and again, if he did he could do a literally infinite amount of rest and reflection in a single instant and then get back to work.

It’s not easy. And I wish a simple prayer would just magically fix it. The truth is we still may have these thoughts. The only thing I’ve found helpful is to think about anything else that’s positive.
