Quality of Life Improvements for OEM Product's Twister Floor Scraper
Переглядів 1383 місяці тому
In the last 5 to 10 years, we have focused more on how we can make each machine easier to work on. For the Twister ride-on floor scraper, this included making the front and back cowlings removable, as well as redesigning the battery box. These small changes have made a huge improvement in how fast we are able to get routine maintenance done and get machines back on the job.

Always makes me laugh when I come across these shorts. Like who's scrolling through their feed and seeing this video and are like " like yeah I got to have that really specific tool"
Me
Always the biggest mf on those machines 😂😂😂
lol people that wear clean safety apparel are usually the ones that have as clean as boots as this guy lol 😂
...as a contractor I've had to take up many a floor. One school we were able to t/up the cpt pretty easily except one room, +- 1,000sf, it had to be cut into 6" strips
Rex, we demoing in the dark now😂
Some customers are!
Where do yall buy your green wheels?
We get ours from our local Grainger Industrial Supply store.
Machine keeps moving after turning joystick loose cause??
If your machine is moving after letting go of the joystick, there is probably a need to replace the centering springs on the hydraulic pump. Give us a call at the office: (866) 636-7763 and we will help you sort that out.

Good Morning! Please email info@tileremoval.com for a quote and more information!
Mobility scooter on steroids. 😂
I suppose that's one way to describe our machine.
Watched to know not wanting to do. What about scored cylinders, just replace? Do they send to you for rebuilds? I just replace mine, not wanting to deal with time and potential issues.
The rod for the cylinder is about a 1/3 of the price of a whole new unit so it is cost effective especially if you're doing it yourself. We will rebuild them here as well.
Why do these always have such small blades. I’ve seen them in Walmart ripping up tile late at night with like a 3 inch blade. I would see them in the same spot when I was leaving basically. Why wouldn’t they put like a 24-36 inch blade on there……electric powered vehicles have more than enough power to handle that.
I would assume that the wavering of how level the floor is might cause the wider blade to potentially penetrate the subfloor? Idk just a guess
Kinda boring, nothing caught fire, crashed, spilled, blew up. But, simplified maintenance video takes the dred out and You don’t have to crawl underneath, Win! Not much oil in that sucker, synthetic is so much better, propane helps keep it cleaner I suppose.
We like to keep it that way! The updated version of the Lightning (The Derecho) is an even more open design so it makes routine maintenance like this even easier. We try really hard to keep maintenance in mind during the design of these machines but sometimes it can't be helped.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. On way home somehow oh, hourly pay, shop charges @ 100$ hr and said I’m not doing maintenance on my truck, only DEF fluid. Letting pros do mostly everything
Hi Colton, are these blades “Hardened” steel? If I order a 24”, I can use a steel chop saw for widths I choose? I need to order some blades.
Es soñar lo soñado inventen algo nuevo.los Chinos estan Mas adelantados y sin recursos contraten un Mexicano o Japanese por favor
Awesome, thank you for the follow up. I guess I’ll try to hard disk on the grinder, I was using a flap disk because the old timers told me they don’t put as much heat in the blade. It works well but the like you said, the corners don’t come out as sharp as they should. I’m forwarding this to some colleagues
I talked with our expert, and he said that if heat is a concern you can use the hard disk to do the heavier work - for example initially grinding the edge flat - then hit it with the flapper disc to put the angle on it and that would reduce the heat you put into the blade.
we just order new ones. the re sharpened ones dont work the same….but incase u dont have while working nites in retail, will bust out the grinder and make miracles 😂
Seams like there should be a new design. Kind of reminds me when we tried to re notch trowels as they wore down installing floor products.
Kinda like bleeding brakes. Nice that you’re looking out for the user$
It's exactly like bleeding brakes! Thanks for watching Mike!
Hey man, do y’all have any vids on sharpening self scoring blades? I do the same thing with mine, flap disks work great on the flats but it’s really a time sap to try to square up and get a new edge on the angles
New video on how to sharpen carpet blades is up! Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/VCTuVAOQf8Y/v-deo.html
I can smell the Dust
It was a dusty job that's for sure! But our operator was wearing the proper protection against the dust and we got the job done quickly and efficiently!
we just picked one up to add to our Hurricane fleet. I already think is more efficient than the lil lighting, maybe on par with the Hurricanes. Will see👍🏾
That's great to hear! Keep us updated!!
Hey, I use to cut my own lanes with a carpet knife and use a 10” flat Blade. I started using the self scoring blades hoping to get off my knees. I love it other than I haven’t figured out a good way to sharpen them. I’ve tried different profile files for the corner and use an angle grinder for the flats but It seems to rip and crinkle where the wings are after a few runs. Any tips?
We will get a video made on how to sharpen the self-scoring blades soon!
Awesome! Looking forward to it
Hey guys, I’m a loonnngg time floor installer thinking about investing in a ride on scraper. I’m physically coming to an end of my installation career. Do y’all have any advice or content on starting or growing a demo business? I’ve rented these in the past to speed up my own jobs but I’ve never had to get business specifically for the machine. I’d greatly appreciate any advice
So sorry for the late reply!! One resource we would recommend is the Floor Academy Podcast (flooracademypod.com/). He covers all kinds of industry topics. And feel free to call our office and ask us anything specific to the floor scrapers! Always happy to help!

Always changing at OEM! Thanks for watching!
Just bought the renegade 5700. I have 26 years in the tile and marble business. This is within the scope of my business but I’m glad you have videos up I’m trying learn as much as I can.
Glad you found the video helpful Mike! We do all that we can to make informative videos.
I’ve been planning on buying the 5000dl from NFE. How has business gone? It’s a big investment for us, worried about dropping 30 grand and not being able to find work. We’ve been installing for 32 years and always did demo by hand
I bough the machine and by dumb luck ran into a dust free company that wanted to sell they’re dust free equipment Were now a full dust free tile removal company and made 4 times the investment i put in There’s lots of competition out there for demo but very little for dust free tile removal
Great! Yeah we just got our 5000 last Friday. We have 3 jobs booked that will pay about 1/3 of the remaining balance we owe. Where are you located? I’ve seen 2 local dust free company’s in my area (central fl).

WAY BETTER THEN NATIONAL FLOORING EQUIPMENT CHEAP MACHINES!!!
omg my national dont have adjustable speed and also nice job on the vidio . Must peeps dont score the wood. Its a time saver!!!!
We really have found scoring the wood to be helpful on demos if our customer has the equipment! It does really help!! If you want to give our Storm SS a try, just let us know and maybe we can hook you up with a demo!
How do y’all find work for these things? Seems like it would be hard to market. I install floors, we have a guy who owns one do our demos for us.
Great insights here. Changing the angle will round the blade over, and lead to reduced production.
im in Denver.. where can i find one and how much is it
We are based in Oklahoma, you can buy one directly from us! Shoot as an email at info@tileremoval.com and we will email you an official quote. Looking forward to hearing from you!
What I am supposed to use on this machine hydraulic oil or car engine full synthetic oil

Great job and video!
Great video and the graph you use to keep track of the Volt readings is SUPER handy!
Thanks Nick! Glad the video was helpful!
Good one, I take care of this when the machines are here but lots of times the machines are in the field when the oil change comes due and this will help the guys in the field if they need it before the machine comes back to us.
Glad it will help!!
Perfect! Great Products. Well done!
Really appreciate the feedback!
Nice video Rex!
Thanks Jack!
