I've seen a ford GT in this livery yesterday racing with other supercars on Assen TT circuit, sounds immaculate
One of the best colour schemes for the GT40
why take classics offroad and ruin erm?
Most of the cars which we now term as classic vehicles that you see on these events have been taking part for many years, from when they were just cheap cars to buy and have fun with. Some people buy an old car to fix up and look at, others buy an old car fix it up , then have a lot of fun with it. Not many things beat the smell of mud on a hot exhaust pipe.
cant help it and im not worried its not funny anymore still is to me " SAMIR YOU ARE BREAKING THE CAR " . cool stuff fun watch really loved the older cars like older than '50 seeing that reject of the 90's xc90 just going nuts and doing well was awesome
Cakewalk central, I could do that on a Honda Express with the basket still on the front with a loaf in it...🤣🤣
Nothing to stop you entering on one...there's a class for step-throughs. See you next year!
Rode the M.C.C. trials in the 70s, great fun, this beings back lots of memories!
Still the same for people today. With an eclectic mix of cars and bikes , something for everyone !
I thought the rules were no 4WD's ? Even a 2WD modified X90 or Jimny is cheating AFAIC....🫤
The X90 was available as a RWD variant (together with its big brother with 4WD). There is a specific x90 class just to cater for these. So they are only competing against themselves.
@@Clubmotorsportuk Ahhhh that's interesting, I didn't know that 👍 It's a FANTASTIC rally to watch with the incredible variety of vehicles.
Bought back a few memories. Neil Skidmore, a former passenger with Calvin
Hi! I was wondering if I could borrow some clips of the Manx?
Came here to see Jonny in the KIA. thanks for sharing
It was great being able to talk to him down by the start line. Can’t wait to see their footage.
Well, some nice cars (especially the A7 and Ford As), but how can it be ‘highlights’ with only one motorcycle? It is the MCC you know.
Bikes started going through at 4.20 am making filming at bit tricky. We have footage of some of the later bikes coming out on an extended video.
@@Clubmotorsportuk Thanks. I’ll look forward to that. Les
Great coverage, thank you
An extended version will follow
The helmet says it
wow 3:43 either that car's got the biggest flywheel ever, or the driver's simply a genius at throttle control - sounds like it's barely above idle speed! Is there a limit to how many passengers are allowed?
Sorry for late reply, the car is very light Vw based rear engined special driven by a very good driver. I believe the number of passengers is limited by the number of seats in the car. So for a sports car you could have two people in in whilst in a saloon 4 comfortably, but that gives you the problem of carrying more weight up the “hills”
Merci beaucoup
I don't think I could have done even half as well as the least successful drivers.
It’s a very challenging sport, that can take a while to master.
Is this banger rally????
No , this is a bonafide sport. It takes place all over the uk. Whether using Production cars/kit cars/buggies as in the video, the Sporting Trials’s cars, as shown in other videos on the channel or All wheel drive vehicles. The idea of the events are the same , ie to get as far as you can on a determined selection of “Hills” Why would you take a car up a muddy track? , because you can, it’s fun and relatively inexpensive for a competition motorsport.
Does sir like changing clutches, then we have the sport for you! Epic number of one tyre fire too
Lots of heavy duty clutches fitted!! Lots of tyre smoke due to no limited slip differentials allowed.
Great stuff.
Thanks!
😎👍
What a nice beetle
Yes a nice tidy early, 5 stud Beetle getting used. Much better than sitting in a museum!
@@Clubmotorsportukyear? I've got a 58 rally style😊
@@campervanbug7658The Beetle in the video was registered in January 1959
Silly goober vehicle
Another awesome video! 👌
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. Playing around with different cameras with mixed results…
It’s an imp
Much modified, so not an Imp as you know it.
the dedication in that passengers bounce!!!!
It really can be a team effort sometimes.
Far out selling 4wd to these dudes would be like selling electric cars to a farmer.
That was so fun to watch! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it.
Did anyone make it to the top?
Two cars in the more specialised class 8 , for buggies and cars built to limited numbers. A green and red front engined Rwd car (car 63) and a rear engined Rwd car (car 79) were the only two to get to the top. A couple others got close too.
Your making great quality trials videos. Really enjoying them bit of a request. Could you put the classes next to the cars on the smaller entries trials. I know you have to do a lot of editing but it would make the sport easier for novices to understand. Love what your doing - thank you for the videos.
Glad to know you’re enjoying the video’s.We understand what you’re saying but rather than putting the class information on the screen we are planning to do a series of what you need to know for the different motorsports that we film.
@@Clubmotorsportuk Brilliant. Thank you.
Just more proof "REDNECKS IS EVERYWHERE"
Not sure we identify as Rednecks buy you could be right…
@@Clubmotorsportuk redneck is a state of mind
Good to see #66 Troll. I spent many happy years bouncing in that car. The Camel was my favourite event on the calendar. Clinick was a fabulous section, such a thrill to pop the front wheels over the top. Thanks for posting.
The Camel Classic has always been a fantastic event. This year the trial was oversubscribed well before the closing date for entries. A glowing endorsement. Glad you enjoyed the video, rekindling some great memories.
Why no positrak rear diff's?
With LSD’s the organisers would have a harder time stopping the cars. So therefore they are not allowed in any of the Rwd classes. So making it easier for the organisers to stop the cars and very much making it more difficult for the competitors to find grip.
@@Clubmotorsportuk great explanation! Thank you!
The Z3 was impresive!
A highly modified car, with a supercharger fitted for added power too.
What a fun! - You guys are crazy, riding such nice cars in such a "hard way"... ;-) By the way: I've never ever seen so many single rear wheels smoking on a rally. - A differential lock could help you out. *smile
Unfortunately LSD’s are not allowed apart from in the Fwd class. In all the other classes an “open” differential must be used, though many cars run differentials with 4 star wheels/needle roller bearings. Many of the older cars have had a long history in trialling, some cars being in the use of the 3’rd generation.
Great video
Thank you
Can the limited-slip differential be used in these races?
The rear wheel drive cars are not allowed to use LSD’s. They are however allowed to be used in the front wheel drive class. This was introduced because of the fragile nature of many FWD cars differentials.
I'm from America, so I don't really know much about the British off-roading scene, but I've watched a few of these now, and I'm wondering why nobody has any knobby tires. I'm not sure if road tires are required, but I thought I'd ask since it's pretty unusual to see this in the states as an actual sport. Usually this is background shenanigans type of stuff. Either way, looks like fun pushing those leyland cars to the limit
These cars raise many more questions than just tire choice lol. Must be to do with the club rules etc. Looks like fun though 👍
The tyres used are of road pattern. Due to size availability issues there is now a rule that allows any tyre as long as a 8mm(5/16 Inch) diameter bar does not fit in the tyre tread . If it does the tyre is not allowed to be used. This still leads to some quite gnarly looking tyres being used. The only downside with some of these tyres is that they can have a stiff tyre wall. This limiting grip if there is a tyre pressure limit.
The cars are divided into different classes . Fwd saloons, production cars pre 1941 plus some added later models. Then you have front engined Rwd saloons , two classes for rear engined Rwd saloons for split at 1300cc. Then you have a class for sports cars ie Mazda Mx5(Miata) and the Z3 a class for cars modified beyond class rules/recognised kit car and then a class for non production specialist cars.
Rules don't allow knobbly tyres. Have to be a road pattern.
Brilliant seeing a Skoda estelle being driven hard. Good fun, Subbed,
That Skoda has doing these events for quite a number of years.
Impressive stuff from the MkI escort. You could see the effortlessness from those who had the right setup and knew a good line. No bouncing even needed.
Passengers are all MH
Holy shit that’s badass I want to turn my z3 into a track focused build but this is cool as hell
Trials certainly is a different way to abuse your Z3!
clean off😅💪
impressive lil things 😮😮
Certainly are..
London black can would ace this😊
