Go check out what they have under bridges in Valencia Spain. Want a city with great use of public space and cool architecture? Valencia should be the city we look to for inspiration. I recall well lit, art filled, dance floors, public gyms, all sorts of other amazing uses of these traditionally derelict spaces.
I've learned something important, thank you!
That was beautiful
Quentin, you rock!

Change the name to something else - ANYTHING else. Every time I see a headline referring to the "Bentway", I think it's got something to do with comedy or crazy people. Getting BENT has always been hilarious.
I think this name is the most intriguing and catchy right off the bat. It implies a creative space, but it also implies a long space that takes important vital stuff from one end to the other... so it implies the travel that can be done from one end to another, and it implies that it's a vital space and it implies that it's a creative space... at the heart of the city. I could see a few negative jokes being made about it... for the gardiner expressway haters... but I also think it would generate talk internationally and with tourists coming in. Even to somehow bring in the colours of a heart/artery would be eyecatching in photos and aerial view photos and videos and for a way to get tourists to come down to take photos at it... (like how the Toronto sign has brought many tourists there now to Nathan Phillips Square), and how something like the Chicago Bean... etc... Something really catchy like a literal heart and artery huge sculpture that people can interact with or making it funky and artsy and somewhat cartoony too so people would take photos with it and create buzz on social media.
This is my least favourite of the 4. It's the most literal which is a little too Canadian cheesy. I think it would fit more for Nathan Phillips Square (but again, it's a little too cheesy for NPS too).
My initial reaction to this was to see it in a negative way... when someone says something is bent they may be meaning it in a negative way. But then the more I thought about it, the more it did imply the bents in the structure, and it also sounds very "hipster" (i'm not a hipster) but I can see how young hipster torontonians may find this quite a neat name that has a bit of a robust nature to it and less frilly sound. This one would never sound "cheesy" but has quite a lot of oomph behind it. It's grown on me.
I love the positive feel to this. There really isn't a way this could be turned negative. I like how it implies that you are covered in any kind of weather yet a canopy implies an open and airy feeling. And it feels like it would be a refreshing place to be in the middle of a busy city. But people might find this a little frilly. But I do like this name.
