I was setting up some camera equipment to try out for when I would be recording the Iditarod a few days later. A guy comes up to me and starts talking gibberish. I couldn't make out anything he said. Sadly there are a lot of people like this on the streets in Anchorage. Alaska is a beautiful place and its spoilt by the drink and the drugs that appears on the city streets.

The Iditarod is a 1000 mile sled dog race starting in Anchorage Alaska and travels all the way through local village checkpoints until it reaches Nome. This years honorary musher is Lance Mackey. Crowds gather on 4th avenue to watch the ceremonial start as mushers and their "iditarider" travel the first 11 miles of the trail. The race is then restarted in Willow the next day.

William Bailey used to have horses. Gypsy cobs in fact. But due to his ill health and ever increasing years means he his now bed bound. On his 96th birthday, his grand daughter Shania decide to take her horse "Chance" for a birthday visit. William couldn't make it outside to see the horse, so with the help of some tarpaulins "just in case" Chance came inside to see William. His face says it all.
