Führst du das Messer in der Hosentasche? Am Gürtel? Frage wegen Fusseln/Staub.
Ergonomics on folding knife i don't get it, when you're hands are calloused it doesn't matter about "hot spots" and the thumb studs are fine.
Just bought the Recon 1 clip point in S35VN. My first expensive to me pocket knife. Think I might pick up a tanto in the soon future.
Nice collection...I love the Twistmaster...I had three of them, but gave two away. The large drop point version is sweet...I might have to find one of those. Cheers! 😊
Flicking it open,
no ad10 ?
Best video I have seen on this knife so far. Just ordered one in SPY27 steel. Based on your experience would you be confident in calling this a hard use knife? Or comfortable carrying it for utility use?
@@БорисБорис-ф3ы hard use if you don’t push the tip too far. Weighs nothing in the pocket also.
Great review and video. Thanks.
How is the action on yours so buttery smooth? And the lock so easy to operate? The action on mine is so stiff I have absolutely no chance of flicking it open, and I have to squeeze down on the lock like my life depends on it to close it.
@@wolfensus years of use 😌
@@megaronknives3032 Damn, I better get to it then😆
@@wolfensus takes a while to break in the knife and to break in the thumb haha
I've owned a couple of hinderers over the last 12 or so years. Still have a gen 4 XM 18 bowie. It's a cool looking knife and it's fun to handle. But it has never cut well. The heat treat seems fine on mine but since it's a regular thickness one the geometry was always super thick. I never actually use it as a knife. I just usually end up using a Chris Reeve or a Strider for use.
A true coldsteelologist if I've ever seen one! Hope you had a great start to your year!🎉
awesome and yes..i would like to see your cold steel fixed blades collection too..
Next, the fixed blades, right?
Ich habe ein black tallon 2 in xhp gekauft vor paar Monaten für glaube 100 shipped. Echt super build quality! Wie ein Gentleman self defense Messer 😅
Nice good morning!
Did you say they got sold again recently? Meaning GSM sold them? Wow if this is true that’s news to me!! Can you share any info you have please? Great video and collection by the way, I’ve been collecting and carrying exclusively cold steel for 23+ years now, let me know what your looking to sell I’m always on the hunt and looking to add to my cold steel collection. Aloha and blessings from Hawaii 🤙🏼🙏🏼
Investment firm Gridiron Capital has signed a definitive agreement to sell its controlling interest in Good Sportsman Marketing Outdoors (GSM Outdoors) to Platinum Equity.
Hey man. Watch the knafs video "This Billionaire Owns 3 Knife Companies" he explains it pretty well. Nice, a true Cold Steel fan in the house. Thank you for watching.
163 francs c’est les prix en Suisse pour le Luky BD2 184 pour le BD4 et même chose pour les BD2 et BD4 contractor.
Agree completely. I have four. They are excellent in so many ways, tough, slim, light, ergonomic, and strong. The S35V is surprisingly tough, but I really like the cutting edge on the XHP hollow grind blades. The clip point is my favorite also. I have a clip point in both XHP and Magnacut. Oh, and I really love the Recon XL also, for all the same reasons, though I guess it is out of production now.
The XL was out of production for a long time, but they are bringing it back this year.
Interesting perspective... It’s nice to see true user’s refining what works for them rather than collectors regurgitating what they have heard online. Bravo! Hope 2025 treats you better...
The Al Mar Eagle is also a nice specimen
Yeah schau ich mir später an! Like und Kommentar erledigt! 👍🏽
Very good , you really show how it s made
Look half way good...lol
Nice
Badass right there, my fella knife addict 👍👌🤙
All valid reasons why the Hinderer XM-18 really isn't all that good, and there are more valid reasons that you could have added, but I guess it may have felt like you were just piling on and beating a dead horse...pun intended.
It’s selling for $90 USD, which seems more realistic.
Ausgezeichnet! I love German reviewers. To bad you guys can't have guns. The reviews would be outstanding and painfully honest 😂 I just got a second one of these. Primarily for two small trail bags that are "bug out" or"on the fly" oriented but benefit from something as tuff as a fixed blade utility knife, yet more compact. I think that 4116 steel is way underrated when finished properly. Cold Steel does a good job with budget level steels. I like their Aus8a & Aus10a steels allot. Tschuss👋 ps. Thanks for your hard work!
They really need to step the fit and finish up. It's embarrassing. I live an hour from them. Every knife I've bought from them is never sharp. Ive heard the knives are just assembled there with imported parts. Our government is tryimgvto kill the country so everyones cost cutting.
"...pull thru sharpener, takes you straight to hell if you use it!" 😅made my day. Good video overall👍 ,greetings
the cost now between the two is 50 bucks. It's waaay better IMO - easier on the pocket, and no snail trails!
I like that but I also love my bk9 too
Those are some big ass locking bars
my perfect dream is a endura or police with triack lock.
Hey, I have this one too. Bought it with no high expectations, just wanted to have a big, fun, beater Bowie. And I wanted to have a Schrade brand knife ;-) But, I was surprised about LEROY, it hacks, stabs and cuts very good. I like it. When it comes to the handle, I agree to what you said. It is realy not a bad handle, but wide in height and slim in volume. And the forward grip is possible, but not ideal (ok, of course I know we talking a big ass, cheap Bowie, but it is what it is). I thought about it, and came up with a possible DIY solution. Take a pair of Ka Bar Becker knives handle and make them fit/work. That could become good... So far, I wasnt able to try this modification, cant tell more about... Greetings from Germany!
You need to try the SRK-C its a different beast altogether. Its a bit thinner with a saber grind not a hollow grind. It's better in my opinion in everyway but the handle is thinner.
Will the patina on the M4 blade keep its patina look, or can you get it back to its original look? I think the patina actually looks nice.
It's a fantastic knife if you have a grinder. I thinned out the grind a bit and took a few thousandths off behind the edge and it made it a completely different knife. Holds a pretty good edge too for budget steel. I prefer the SRK compact tho, its MUCH slicier out of the box, has a better grind and different balance. Just overall a much better knife, if you like the full size you'll LOVE this!
From what I've seen I say no. Bought an SR1 and two AD-10s a few weeks ago and they are all well built.
I have a Black Xlip Point on the way and I don't know what took me so long to purchase one but its on the way and now I also want a Drop Point , because I have two Tanto Recon 1 in S30v and I would have to say it my favorite onlt equal to the Newer Bush Ranger, but the Recon 1 is a little less bulky in the pocket but the Bush Ranger is a 3.5 inch blade that is tough and aggressive in S35VN, a with very good G10 handle scale design that hard not to appreciate. My two favorite Cold Steel ,eay pocket carry knives. 😊
nice to see comparisons :)
Loved the comment by jobyEN a great soldier "prybar" style knife, but not what an outdoorsman would get a lot of enjoyment out of. Great video as always Lukasz!
A case over that? come on dude..
If you're an active duty soldier, the SK5 SRK is one of the best options out there (cheap, dependable, forgiving, deadly). If you're an outdoorsman, you'd better look elsewhere for your woods knife. I'm very happy with my SRK!
Its so stupid to use a tough steel then make it 50 thou BTE, not that logic and competent knife making have ever been huge priorities for Cold Steel.
Yeah i guess the price has to come from somewhere. I have lots of CS knives that i love quite a bit. The SRK in a different steel might be thinner ground. Thanks for checking by.
You’re experience with SK5 SRK reminds me of the Steel Will Druid 200 in 9cr18mov. I do like the design of the Druid better but the steel is run to soft and it’s a pain to sharpen...
My older VG10 and 3V SRK’s are both thick behind the edge. Roughly .050 of an inch.
Excellent comparison of these knives! I'm not familiar with the "Peleton" - could you tell me how to spell it so I can do some research on it? It seemed like the best performer of the bunch.

@@megaronknives3032 Thanks!
I just wish could steel would put a smooth spot under the clip on these models that have super rough scales. I always feel like I have to take the clip off and sand it down.
Hey, cooles Video ! Hätte eine Frage, woher hast du deine demko ad20 her ? Sind ja so schwierig zu bekommen.
Grüße, danke. Du musst auf die drops bei Lamnia / Vienna Cutlery warten für die full size Modelle. die 20.5 bekommt man mittlerweile öfter.
