Exploring the wetlands at Vera Playa, Almeria Spain
Not too far from our accommodation were some lovely wetlands, called Salar de los Canos, with lots of bird-life. One day, when the sun was shining, we decided to have a hike and explore that area of Vera Playa.

We had a hire car for a few days, so decided to explore a little further afield. Although the weather turned out rather miserable that day, we visited the village of Sorbas, which - despite the rainy day - was actually quite picturesque. It was a lovely sunny day, so we decided to stroll along the boulevard from Garuccha to Playa de Vera. Halfway along, we found our way blocked by the mouth of a river. So, we decided to catch a bus home from there.

Strolling around our local area we chanced on the beach of Playa de Vera (which happens to include one of Spain's top nudist beaches). The immediate area that we took this video from is known as Charca del Gato... which is technically a park: the wetland we visited a few days previously originates here.

This describes the residential complex that we stayed in. Sometime in the next 24 hours I will be posting a new vlog on "Our Cozy Accommodation". In the Al Andalus complex. It's just a short bus ride from Mojacar, and we would highly recommend it, if you're thinking of moving over there.

Is Mojacar wheelchair friendly?
Hi - thanks for your interest. Although we are fully able-bodied, ourselves (so weren't specifically looking out for that sort of thing) we did notice that the shopping mall seemed to be pretty wheelchair-friendly, with lots of ramps. Hope that's helpful. Sorry I was a bit slow responding, but I only just spotted your question.

There are de veras in spain? Are they rich? Here they all have to sit.
In this video, we were trying to walk from Garrucha to Playa de Vera. But didn't make it. In the end, we just walked up to Puerto Rey and then decided to catch a bus home to our rented apartment, from there. "de Vera" is just part of the place name.

Perhaps you would have preferred the live soundtrack... our journey was made all the more tiring by the noise of the wipers struggling to keep the windscreen free of ice and snow. Why not turn the sound off? 😊
