I feel like you have your things to simplified. You know at the top of your controls it says pointer mouse, simplified, realistic? Choose the first one. The far left one. It wont distract you and the camera wont like go crazy like that.

okay that was painfull, now for the good parts, there is room for improvment! (so do i...) Like others said, dont shoot over 1km away in ingagement, and when fighting not over 400m, shoot where the ennemy plane will be in 1-2 sec depending on the range. To see it and understand it easily, arcade show you "where" to shoot at. But it is only accurate under 300m, over that range, you need to shoot ahead of the indicator, at 600m it is double the range. Use the C key to look freely, if it is not comfortable for your thumb, rebind to space (DONT FORGET TO REBIND YOUR BOMB BAY AND BOMB DROP TO C). Awarness is key, if you know what is happening, you can react, if not, you are just a paper plane, and im sure i can shoot a paper plane off the sky by pissing on it (if you REALLY wanna use a controller, you can bind the target button and focus on the ennemy instead of ahead of you). Note that your controls will be keyboard only when looking freely (PLEASE STOP USING A CONTROLLER). ALTITUDE IS KEY, (a far more for a bomber), do not go down, go up, the upper you are, the fewer ennemies will be, so no danger, and you become in control (by being able to dive on them). Now some basic flying theory: There is multiple axis on a plane, (dont know the official name, fuck off). The roll one (the barell roll meme), the go up or down and the drifting left and right. To tun, you need to roll and pull, if you add drift while rolling, you will roll faster. Well done, you know how to fly. Your engine is a big flaming pot, you dont want it to overflow, so use your WEP wisely. And finnaly, be aware of your speed, and try to watch the speed of others (how fast they come to you, or you to them if it is going to slow for your speed), so you know if they are aware of you or not and what they are planning to do. Again, awarness is key. So this is the theory, now the only thing to do is to go arcade, pay some silver lions to add planes to your hangar, so you can spam and learn the controlls, then go to this mod, at first it will feel slow af, but it is in fact way harder.

That doesn't look like mouse aim, what control mode are you using?? Also, in that low of a tier you should shoot at about 800m during head on engagements, and at 200-400m during dogfights, your guns can't consistently hit much farther than that, also enemies only actually become a threat to you under 3-5km You should bind a button to free look, so that you can look behind yourself and be more aware of the positions of enemy aircraft, this would also make defensive maneuvers much, much easier Btw you should probably play Arcade mode until you get familiar with the controls and aiming, in realistic mode you can often find players who are level 50+ and have a lot more experience than you, since there is no skill-based matchmaking

1. Shoot max at 1-1.2 km away, bullets despawn after that or enemy is too hard to hit 2. Bases are only damaged by bombs and rockets 3. If you got one shoted - they killed your pilot
