Yasmin Singh is appreciated as a star of Kathak. Her brilliant performances in National and International events have established her as an outstanding performer not only at her home in the federal state of Chhattisgarh (in India) but also at the National level. She is expounding Raigarh Gharana. She aspires to add a new dimension to the Raigarh Gharana.
Lucknow Gharana is the other style of Kathak, in which she has a special interest. She believes in harmonization of different genres of Kathak. In her opinion, 'Lucknow Gharana' style with its delicate nuances of expressiveness, alluring grace in movements, eloquent gat bhav and its unique abhinaya (expressions) can be central enabler in harmony of different genres of the dance form.
