This was not Bernice final song with sweet honey in the rock, on the disc “Raise Your Voice” it’s says this song was recorded on Nov 5, 2003 and over half of the songs were recorded on Dec 7, 2003

This song has saved my life in many ways. I still cry when I hear it. I am not a person who thinks religion is effective. I do not think it is even helpful. But the faith that this song expresses makes me want to believe.

Once AGAIN this Queen Vocalist EXTRAORDINARILY hits us w/ melodic, synchronisation of sounds bringing us, taking us over land sea, space and time with her magnanimous range and ability proving timelessly and infinitely that the human voice IS IN FACT a whole instrument to it's own. I'm mezmerized by the extraordinarily dynamic Rachelle Farrell's vocal acrobatics and oral percussuon, not to mention the late great George Duke (R.I.P) on keys w Minu and Patti Austin (saw her at the ASO she slayed Ms.Otis) Johnathan Butler/ Lil' John Roberts on drums all GREAT players in place! We were fortunate enough to host Sweet Honey in the Rock at my college, Haverford, in the early 90s. The a cappella group I was in had a couple of their songs in our repertoire, which was how I was Introduced to their music. I still can’t hear this song without crying. For utter joy. The passion, the beauty, the hope and the pain are so honest, so acute, and so immediate in every note. It overwhelms me. They are an American treasure.
