Water was everywhere
After a big rain, we head to the Ozark National Forest. Most of the water crossings were still too deep to cross, so we hit some of our favorite hiking spots to check out the waterfalls. Even the hiking trails had water crossings. Our hike to Wolf Cave Creek Falls, Under Ground Falls and Big Cave Creek Falls starts on McElroy Gap Road at 35.87692, -93.15860.

Daily Driver to Overlander In Under 15 Minutes
I do love a nice wet and muddy trail ride! Wet shoes on a hike though, no bueno for me! Do love some nice waterfalls though! Super happy to see them return to Arkansas after the long drought! Thanks for posting! Will have to catch up with you folks again down there and do some wheeling together!
Yes, the water was very much welcomed. After the first water crossing I didn't even notice the wet shoes. I did have some dry ones to change into once we were back to the Jeeps.
Looks like I missed a nice trip! But, I'm going to have some waders on if you're getting me in that cold water for a hike😅
I love Arkansas. We visited magazine mountain several times, my dad as a child and his family used to vacation at that resort at the very top of the mountain that burned down years ago. Anywhere there is a waterfall or a creek it definitely has my attention!
I love Mount Magazine.
Mount Magazine is such a pretty area. The lodge that is there now is beautiful.
That was such a nice trip, especially due to the water. It seemed so much more clean and beautiful compared to the drought trips with nothing but dust and dry creek beds. Thanks for leading the way!
Yes, definitely.
TFS 💙the waterfalls…so peaceful and serene
Thank you.
I even like the way it looks in the fog:)
That looks like a horrible place to camp, yes, just horrible. Give me the coordinates. LOL. Seriously though, hearing a creek or river while camping in a tent is one of the top 5 things that I love about overlanding!
Nice! You all have all the fun!😂😊
Muddin, my kind of fun! lol Looks like a great time!
Thanks Dee.
This is so cool!!
I would (and did) camp here. Beautiful area.
❤
Congratulations on 31 years Tim & Marilyn!
Thank you Otis.
Hi Marilyn and Tim! Love seeing other parts of the country, thank you both for showing your part of it. The Fog was intense. It is always peaceful on your ride. Thank you for this video. (Dee B)
Thank you Dee.
Thanks for coming in to the Oark Cafe to say hi! Was a great surprise! We definitely need to hunker around a campfire one of these days and continue our conversation from RITO!
That sounds good to me.
Love watching, thanks for sharing
It was awesome chatting with you at the rig review. Definitely gave me some great ideas for mine! Keep up the great vids!
I was also at RITO...i just went in a mild trail cause I wasn't aware of anyone else going out to be honest...trying to make new friends and more opportunities to go out
Sorry you missed out on making some of the trail runs while you were there. If you go back to RITO next year be sure to download the "Yapp" app. It will have people posting in both the "event chat" and "impromptu trail meetups" looking to go out on trail runs and inviting others to go along.
@TBoandMo i definitely will do that
Thats a nice run.. Good video!
@@overlandtowater thank you.
Hi Tim and Marilyn! Thank you for another beautiful, peaceful and scenic tour. The Swimming area looks nice. Enjoyed the ride. 🚙 😊 (Dee B)
Thank you so much Dee.
Good video I'm not sure if we meet there at the Expo but i'll check out your channel more.
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Did you happen to map your trip?
Great video! I am still coughing up dust from RITO but wouldn't miss it for anything!
Same here. It looks like the rain is coming soon though. 🤞
Yep new undies for me lol!!!
Loved the video. I'm not gonna lie that one part a the beginning kind of scared me I thought the jeep was going to flip 😵💫
Looked like some fun trails!
You should have been there. Hopefully you can make the next one.
Thanks for leading us through this fun trail Tim. All fenders remained intact!
Thanks. This year was much better for both of us.
Nice chatting with you there! Love how you have your rig setup. I finally got all the dust out of my Jeep. LOL Was that trail in the Ouachita National Forest or the Boston mountain range?
All of the trails were in the Boston Mountains, just West of the White Rock Mountain Recreation Area. We started with Alexander Mtn - 1703. The tighter trails were 95547H to 95530A. After that we just took back roads to Mulberry Mountain.
How do you like your RTT? Is there a reason you didn’t go with a hard shell?
I like it well enough. I used to ground camp but decided to change to the RTT about 3 years ago. That was at the height of COVID and I couldn't find what I wanted and ended up finding this Fishbone rack and ROAM tent used and saved about 1k$. The cons are, it does take longer to set up and take down. But I’m not in a hurry. I do like the 1/2 rack so that I can keep the weight lower. When it wears out, I may look at a hard shell, but I would still want to keep the weight low.
@@TBoandMo thanks! I was considering a small teardrop for a long time, but now I’m leaning more toward a rooftop tent. It seems like James Baroud makes some really nice ones!
@@romatsetnar6532 I'm not familiar with that brand. I'll check them out.
We do this crazy stuff on four wheelers all the time. It's time for us to graduate to a jeep! Thank you for the video and sharing with us.
Thank you for watching Stacy.
I'll be there next year😀
Hi Tim and Marilyn! Thank you for the tour of another beautiful American scenic Trail! So peaceful! Stay safe! 🌳🌳🌳
Thank you so much Dee.
Thank you for the video, Tim. When you paused at the forks in the road, it reminded me of when I lived in Colorado, we would just take a drive up in the mountains and turn wherever to explore. We'd take a break when we'd find a spot where we can picnic, and it had to have a small patch of snow for our dog to play in.
Gayle, that sounds like a great time.
That sounds like beautiful memories, Gayle.
Loved the video. The husband and I love to explore as well!
Thank you Stacy! It was fun for a little day trip.
Thank you Tim & Marilyn for this video. I enjoyed seeing the waterfalls today.
Thank you Gayle. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks Gayle!
Any chance you have a GPX file of the route you took? Looking to get out on some local trips with my boys.
Can I ask what time e of year was this trip? And what river are creek do you keep crossing? Beautiful
Angela, this was in September of 2023. The creek is Blair Creek and I think it was county road 238.
Where is that ?
This is in the Ozark National Forest, Arkansas.
Where was this at?
This is from forest service road 93069A in the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest, Arkansas
Yes. Loved it there!
I'm not sure if I would camp there but would love to go. The waterfall is beautiful. TFS
Yes, I would and I have, despite how cold out it was:)
It is a beautiful camping site. Love the Waterfalls! Thank you for showing them.
Awesome time.
Looked like a fun trip
Was there in 1981 before my wife and I were married. It was a rainy time but we made it in and out! A spectacular place few know about. Road was bad back then. Check out Lost Valley too! There is a Glory Hole that I could not find! Beautiful , magical places!
I love Lost Valley. I've yet to go when the water is really running.
Sound, waterfall and scenery…beautiful!
❤❤❤❤❤
Do u have this maped out on gaia im not sure what ur calling the sand gap trail ive been all over the area but id like to know the route yall took
It's a 2 day route that we call The Sand Gap Loop. We call it that because it starts near Pelsor or what some people call Sand Gap. Have you seen both days?
Nice trail! Can't wait until we can get over that way exploring
Thank you. I hope you're able to visit soon.
Sweet spot
