Exam Prep Series - Oral Case (Medication overdose)
The following oral case scenario models a sample scenario of a patient who presents with confusion and dizziness, later suspected to have a medication overdose.
ECREM's Exam Prep Series is designed to exemplify the approach for residents preparing for board examination - style oral cases, with case brief, mock interviews and an end-of-case review.
Note: The approach displayed is an example style that encompasses the necessary elements being tested in a typical scenario. This video is meant as a guide; there are understandable variations in approach to examinations and nuances exist between different exam takers.

All you need is the Park method. No sedation needed. Technique itself provides pain relief. 30 seconds and its in. Nearly 100% success rate.
Nice approach to the case, and very well done. i would also have asked about baseline potassium to look for hypokalemia, as hypokalemia can induce digoxin toxicity,love to See more cases.

Nice explanation, but the dose of fentanyl mentioned 50 mic / kg / min is not correct !
Great catch Sadiq!! Thank you for pointing this out. It's important to note that this was an error made by the mock examinee during recording. While knowledge of dosages is preferably stated in the examination, where doubt exists, you may absolutely mention that you would like to refer to your institutional guide or drug reference (the only time where this would maybe be frowned upon is for intra-arrest medication dosages)
