Behringer RD8 and Sherman Filterbank 2
Переглядів 2,1 тис.2 роки тому
This time im using the Filterbank with the Behringer RD 8. The Filterbank is creating modulations based on the drum pattern. At the same time , by overdriving the input circuit, and setting the Filterbank's envelope follower, i can create an aggressive Techno pattern.
Behringer RD9 and Sherman Filter Bank 2
Переглядів 2,1 тис.2 роки тому
This is how you can modulate a drum pattern by using a Filterbank , which creates permutations from over driving the input of the Filterbank and sweeping through different frequencies .The Filterbank's LFO ,changes the pitch of elements in the pattern ,which adds more variation to the sounds.

Soundcraft TS 24 Recording Console.

Last year , i had my Soundcraft TS 24 Recording Console Re Capped, and Rebuilt both power supplies. This is a condensed view of the work that was done. It took several months due to time and parts, but we managed to make it happen.
Numark M6 Mixer

Warming up on the Numark M6 DJ Mixer again. DJs will find that the M6 is very smooth and the EQs are great to work with too.
DX7IID

Here are my sounds that i created- WITH NO Internal or External FXs on the Yamaha DX7IID. Many of the keyboard videos show off the user presets and that's fine. This sound bank, which is part my Beyond FM Series, is for those who choose to live outside "Preset Sound" boundaries. Contact me at stylecityrec@aol.com RE: DX7IID

@@kokasharabidze2495 thanks for listening. I know it's been awhile since I put up more Jomox AB vids. More to come in 2025
Looking for a drum machine and landed on the spot with this jam ))) so thanks to you mate 😊
@@kokasharabidze2495 keep in mind. The Operating System is really built for DAW/Midi Applications. It's not straightforward like a MPC 2000. However, the ability to create sounds is unmatched. My new videos will demo the unit connected to my DAW/Midi setup, so people can see how powerful it it really is.

Dmitry, thanks for listening. I was trying to decipher your statement but I'm not sure what it means . We have a lot of Slang in NYC too. Thank you again for listening
It needs an input to get round the slow envelope. Try running a cable from output trig 1 on the RD9 into the AR input on the FB.
Thanks for checking in. I was just playing around with it. The funny thing is, I asked myself how come I did not set it to ADSR, because it's a completely different feel. I will try your recommendation. Thank you for checking it out. More to come .
@@styleCityRecords Definitely worth experimenting with both inputs, particularly for percussion/fast sounds, sending gates or audio. I have the version 1 which is even less sensitive.
sir what is the name of the second track?
I'm not home right now, but it's a Timmy Regisford Track. I'll hit you back when I get home.
Movement by Timmy Regisford and Filsonik , on Restricted Tracks #1301
Fire!!!
Thank you for checking it out.
I bougthed 2 months ago...really happy...waiting for add synths ...nice groove man!!!!
Thank you for watching. The Jomox Alpha Base will allow you to expand your creativity.
Im having a issue with jomox ...in the first three kit instruments i cant change the sample on the open hat....do you know what i did wrong...im watching a lot of tutorilas learning and maybe i clean any pattern of instruments
@@joserancel6255 First make sure the AB is in Edit/Trig . This allows you to press a drum pad and access the edit parameters of each sound that is assigned to each pad. Second, use the top row of rotary knobs , I think the one on the far right will enable you to select the Sample Number ,that is being assigned to the drum pad. At this point you can edit the overall sound of the Sample you have chosen. Do this for each drum pad until you have created a Drum Kit that you like. Be sue that you save the Drum Kit.
@@styleCityRecords thanks for answer....im having the trouble with edit mode on AB....i can change the samples of all instruments less open Hat....i tryied with the knob of the top row...the last of the left and is still sounds the same sample....it happens with the 1,2,3 kit instrument...i have to read the manual couse i did a mistake.. im watching a lot of tutorial for learning how work the AB.
@@styleCityRecordsthanks ..i fixed it...thanks
Q: ❓I have Klipsh rp-15 active speakers...how do I connect them❓ Where would I connect the stranded copper wires at❓Do I need an Adapter❓THX u U
I think you have a connection point for RCA on the rear of the speaker. So in this case you could go out of the Master RCA output of the Mixer ,directly into the rear of the speaker because they are Powered / Bi Amped.
@@styleCityRecords Thank you I'll try that! 👍
Given how hard these synths are to program, this is a magnificent achievement.
Thank you for watching. I have planned another video with new patches .
Yeah! I love wet fart techno!
Thanks for viewing. I thought it sounded like a Circuit Bent effect.
👍👍👍
Thanks for viewing.
Did you get your Filterbank 2 new? If so, from where and for how much? I’ve been considering getting one of these for a long time now. The closest thing I’ve used would be the VSTFX - D16 Group Devastor.
Thanks for viewing. My FB was purchased New. Had it for many years. It's a great unit. The issue is, how do I apply and or to what do I apply it to. I did this with headphones on so it's not the best example of its sonic character. This was merely a test for me to try to create nuances around the Drums . You can probably find these used for $500-$700. Since the FB came out, there have been many different companies that created a similar product. So, I would say go with what you are comfortable with first. As long as you are getting the desired sound that you have in mind, that's all that matters. The FB is a complicated unit- in a good way, because it forces you to think differently ,in the sense of...Wow ,let me work around a very complex sonic texture and then try to figure out how to incorporate it into music. It can do simple filtering, but that was not why Sherman made it. I'll post another version so you can different textures not just Circuit Bent sound Drum Sounds by themselves.
@@styleCityRecords thank you for the thoughtful reply. The only thing holding me back from buying one is the negative criticism I’ve read about it being too fiddly, and not something which processes sound musically. Someone even mentioned that after buying a FB2 it ended up sitting on a shelf collecting dust.
Yes, it will take time to become proficient in using the unit. I would say it's perfect for experimental textures..
nice stuff. btw, do you have low frequency noise on all channels? for example, when I load a sample into AB and look at frequency spectrum of the sample through AB there is always noise
Hello Miroslav, have you used the Filter Routing and or Frequency Cutoff to try to remove unwanted noise?
Good question..i bouhgted 2 months ago and im learning .. how did you store the kit?
Hi there, I sent you an email. are your Dx7ii patches still available?
I received your email. I will reply tonight.
Huge kick!
Thanks for listening. I'll Repost a better version. I did it with Headphones on.
Omg…. Terrible
Thanks for the Feedback. Because you said that ,I'll do another video. Just so you understand, I wanted to highlight the Nuances from the Drums. But, I guess I have to hit you , with something that fits your palette. Thanks for listening .
Awesome track!
Thank you for listening.
Hard to comprehend that the DX7II was launched in 1986. Almost 37 years ago! Same goes for the 35 year old D-50! There’s something ‘timeless’ about black synths with 80 character backlit LCD’s.
Thank you for listening. Ive always thought of them as specialized tools. They have a character all to themselves.
Love these patches. Are they downloable or for sale somewhere?
Thanks for listening. I will try to get Downloads ready for 2023.
Hows jomox sync bro it is good?
Yes, the Midi Sync is great. I will put up another video of me using the Jomox Alpha Base being driven from my DAW/Logic. In fact, you can do so much more with the Jomox being sync'd because you can take advantage of it's full MIDI Implementation. Thank you for watching.
I m gonna order one soon the kick that i need for techno
That's great to hear. This will be one of the best purchases you made. The possibilities are infinite.
@@styleCityRecords i was confuse first time buy this or AR
Mmm, a MC303 have the same sound, see youtube!
sounds ugly
Pretty cool !!
Thanks for listening . I take it you get what I was trying to do. Thanks again.
learn how to use the sherman bevore make a record on youtube
Thanks for the comment. I wasnt trying to do what everybody does. The drum pattern is creating what I would run underneath the actuall drum sounds. This was just to create a synergy that I would add as a layer. If you can try to not to listen to it on your smart phone, because it's mostly Low Frequency information. Maybe I should have explained that, but many of us that have making music for a long time, understand that it's the sonic elements that make a difference. In the experimental phase, you look for things that you would normally encounter and then find ways to apply them to differentiate what You do from somebody else.
@@styleCityRecords i lstening it on my Studio Speaker and i also got the sherman FilterBank... so what u doing on this video is püointless for me and it feels a waste of time! sorry for this bad comment but i have ti say that!
You could make sound this ‘run under the actual drum sounds’ just with a nudge of the effect/bypass pot top-right.
lovely
Thank you.

Hello
👍Amazing!👍
Thank you for listening and watching.

OK
Wow 👏, this session was CLUB LEVEL, very very very reminiscent of the 1990's NYC Club scene, FILTER 14, OCTAGON, CLUB VINYL, ROBOTS, WAREHOUSE AND SOUND FACTORY/ TWILO , most of these tracks also reminds me of that record shop that was across the street from VINYLMANIA , they sold mostly TECHNO, TECH HOUSE, DRUM AND BASS and EXPERIMENTAL.
Yes !!! This is what ive been looking for on UA-cam, someone mixing HOUSE with a NUMARK, i have the X6 with the Total Kill Buttons and it's REALLY REALLY nice. I'm gearing up to do a UA-cam channel myself as i'll probably never be a Club DJ . Anyway Hot Mix bro, do more.
Thanks for listening and watching. Looking forward to hearing your Mixes.
buena musica
Thank for listening.
Track list please 🙏🙏🙏
I'll put it up this week.
Clean
Thanks
Real dope mix. I dig it. Also, how's this mixer holding up for you? I've been looking for a 4 channel backup mixer. I'm considering it since it's well below $100 these days.
Thanks for watching and listening. Yes the Numark M6 is perfect. Not too bulky , solid build, the EQs and not bad. They are not Kill Switches but the Q is wide enough that it really sounds musical when using EQs to create drop outs.
@@styleCityRecords Nice! Glad to hear it. I might just pick one up. I've seen them sell for pretty cheap. Like $60+
@@luja805 It was $150 brand new Very well built, no fader cracking problems .it would be nice to see another version with knobs.
@@styleCityRecords I just won one with a flight case on eBay for only $72! Excited to get mine! It's funny, because I actually have a Xone DB2, and I love that mixer to bits. But sometimes, I need a spare mixer because sharing such a great mixer with other DJ in other parties could sometimes... well... accidents happen!
@@luja805 Nice ! You have made a good investment.
Hi . Wow amazing sound. i really love your work. please can i have more details?
Roco, Thanks for watching and listening. These are sounds that i made for the DX7 IID., which are part of a series of Banks that i have created .
Very cool stuff. All your own patches here?
Thanks for listening. Yes these are all of my own Patches.
@@styleCityRecords love them. Great chords too. Do you sell these patches?

@@styleCityRecords Can't wait to play these!
fader and knob was smooth?
Yes, very smooth fader, and the EQs are broad enough to create a decent sweep.
Are the patches free or do I have to pay for them?
Hello Samuel, I have a new Series coming out soon , i'll keep you posted. Thanks for watching and listening.
no problem, I love your patches. Do they come in syx format?
Samuel The Manual. I normally send them as Midi Files, so they can be uploaded with ease.
nice
Just keep in mind that EQ knobs on this mixer do not linearly adjusting the highs, mids, lows.
Oi
yes! i didnt notice you made synths demos!
Thanks for watching and listening.
kicksNCY Thanks for watching and listening.
have you used this mixer to rip your mixes via the usb connection? looking in to buying this mixer especially after your demo, but want to make sure recording is not an issue...i would probably be using Adobe Audition. thanks in advance...
18:00 - Sharp Brothers I believe?
Sorry to take so long to get back, Thanks for Listening and Watching. Yes, you are correct on the Song . Good looking out .
i got this for my birthday while back i have added and sl3 with it. its pretty solid 4 channel mixer lots features

Nice, what is the name of the second track?
At 2:27, does it sound or look like the modified 14th Roland D-50 internal factory patch "Griitttarr" got heard as the 30th Roland D-50 internal factory patch?
In the song "Strolling Through the Park" in/on Kidsongs: A Day at Circus (1987), the 1st Roland D-50 internal factory patch "Fantasia" was heard.
Style City Records, could you please dump your custom Roland D-50 internal patches into the D50 Librarian (D-50 librarian) in/on the computer?
Style City Records, nice Roland D-50 custom patches.
Some amazing sounds! Great job programming the DX7.
