Barbados airstyle
Barbados is wonderfull little Island that offers really nice free ride and wave riding conditions. We had really nice wind even though it was an el nino year.

We had some amazing wave foil sessions at sunset, misty cliffs and Melkbos. The cleanest waves were at sunset beach, the biggest swell at misty cliffs and the longest waves at Melkbos. Melkbos was actually exceptionally good for hydrofoil waveriding.

This was a day with northerly wind at dolphin beach. It was about 20-25 knots riding the 9m Stoke. In waves up to 3-4 meters it was absolutely epic

My first sessions on the new Sonic were awesome. This new wing is very stabil and handles gusty winds very well. The steering is much quicker, and a bit more direct. All stokey goodness comes from the Cape of good stoke. With strong wind, big swell and sunshine, what more can you ask for? Riding the waves in the cape region is such a delight, it is definetly one of my favorite places to visit in the world.

Knots please?
Around 20 knots
Great! How do you manage to control the hybrid when lines are completely slack? The leading edge is heavier than trailing edge, so when the lines are slack the hybrid eventually points down, only giving a few seconds before crashing.
Thinking about buying 12m Sonic 4 for light wind jumping and foiling sessions. Kite looks like it loops really well and good hangtime ?
This kite has the best hang time You can get the downloops are very smooth but beware of the second lift sometimes it just keeps you going up and up. So pay attention to who or what’s downwind of you and make sure you have space to fly 😉

Melkbos was exceptionally good , but sunset was also very nice. I would love to foil Platboom but unfortunately the conditions weren’t good there during our stay

Around 20 knots I guess
Side off wind,head high glassy waves with the boys!! My favorite!! Give the strut-less kites a go for this (ufo/clouds) ,I find that to be mint. Though I haven’t used these hybrids yet.
You should give the hybrids a go after using the hybrid you will probably find foiling with a tube kite a ridiculous practice 😉

Very nice carves, especially for a HA foil! How much wind and what bar were you using?
I was in about 15 knots on a big bar. I use the gong fluid 900 cm2 which is not super HA but it does The job

Currently 23m lines in the video 20 m lines wind was around 20 knots plus or minus a bit, sorry for the late response had a shit load off stuff on my mind lately.

Niko it drifts like no other kite om The market, giving an experience comparable to winging. But then with better low end

HI Ralf, very nice footage. I foil like you do, looks like same style. Want to change my peak for hybrids because of relaunch. (don't want to swim in cold water) What windrange can you get with 7,5 and 5,5 ? I'm 86 kg, 1200cm² wave wing. Isn't there too much overlap between both sizes ?
I use The 7,5 from 15 -25knots depending on my frontwing I can ride with around 10 knots but your not gonna have fun I can hold the 5,5 till 30knots on my 900 cm2 frontwing the advantage of the hybrid in waveriding really is the performance in somewhat stronger winds with better high end better depower and upwind then the peak. The peak has more power and low end that’s why I still have the 11 peak on a big bar and I have had magical sessions in Around 12 knots of wind riding super glassy swell.

Nee niet echt een officiële spot de wind is aflandig en Launchen en landen is ook een dingetje. Tenzij je echt goed kan kiten raad ik je het af om hier te gaan.

This depends a lot on which frontwing I put under my mast and this depends on what swell period and wave size, so this is very relative.
Hi nice video. I am 80 kg and I am in doubt about the Hybrid size for me. Wind in my hometown is 10-20knots, I have two large wing foils (1000-1225cm2) and a big board (39L). Which Hybrid do you recommend (5.5 or 7.5)?

Ok The 7,5 m then because The high end is quote good I van rode it comfortably at 20-25 knots with The hydrofoil without using depower

In this movie the wind was about 15 to 20 knots I was on the 7,5 and my girlfriend on the 5,5. 10 knots is not gonna do it for you I’m afraid for that reason I still have a peak 11 m2

Also have the 7.5. Ride it comfortably under 10 knots, but the key is a wingfoil board with 95 liters and a 1500 front wing. Unbeatable low end. Greetings

For small waves I prefer strapless but for big waves I like the strappies.
