You can expect SoL, sitcom, parody and comedy (mainly), and heart-warming stuffs, with a spice of seriousness on the side. Honestly, you will be glad it got a lot of episodes cuz you don't want it to end. Gintama is and will always be my fav anime ever, special in my heart ❤ P/s: If anyone ever recommend(ed) to you to react to to their top fights, pls don't do it. Watching their serious fights will honestly give you false hope when you start Gintama.

Where all pushed to where They are at rn by their families and society in general, even happened to twice as an adult, were never given a chance after they got their quirks, even as children that didnt know what they did or what they were doing was wrong, that's why its so easy To sympathize with them, though its important to not forget at some point, they chose that route too, so that's why they are responsible for their actions, and remember,Toga is a threat cause of how fast and impredictable she is, vut also a major threat since she can become twice with his blood

It’s always funny seeing people surprised by the alien invasion but there have been Aliens right from the jump, probably op1 or 2 had flying ships. Great reaction though, Gintama is easily one of my favorite shows, it has it all , action ,comedy ,politics and drama . What a show!

And too bad about the copyright, I wish we could hear you talk even if the music is muted:( I even went to your Patreon to see if I could not just watch it there, but I'm not paying 75.00 NOK(my currency) to watch maybe one video. If only 😅I was richer lol And Gintama is totally worth a watch, but do not expect much. I know that is a bit contradicting, but Gintama is the kind of show you start out watching for the simple joy of just having something to watch. It's slow going, and the focus is the characters, not the plot(but there is a plot). The manga(for the most part) is the kind of manga some might read on the bus, or when you have a bit of downtime. A Garfield strip, if you will, but more. The anime is the kind of show that had very little budget, but the anime team really worked hard and made it work despite the trouble from higher-ups, and it shows. You almost feel connected to the anime team because Gintama breaks the fourth wall a lot and they use the lovable characters to complain lol Basically, Gintama is a comedy with a lot of heart and soul. You watch it for the characters, and the plot slowly weaves itself in and out, you won't even notice it sometimes until you re-watch the show. Been in my top 3 for years now, despite me not having finished the show. And the only reason I have not finished the show is because I don't want it to end.

Its been my favorite for 14 years, and gotten me through so many hard times. This series is over, I balled like a baby at the ending when it came out. Gintama essentially follows the life of Sakata Gintoki (Age 27/29) an ex samurai trying to survive by running an odd jobs business after losing the war against the Amanto (Aliens) who essentially gets strapped with two kids (Kagura *red hair, 14 yrs) and (Shinpachi, glasses, 16 yrs) who go on all these whacky jobs together. The jobs create the large cast while a more depressing storyline subtly runs through the background up until around the last 100 episodes of the series where it takes a dark and serious head ( there are dark and serious arcs throughout, but it definetly jumps into an extremely painful story at the end) its a beautiful story and I hope if you watch it you do a reaction. Although unfortunately the reactions dont get a lot of views 😢

Im late but Getbackers is such an underrated gem, that show is so good. I still have the entire manga on my shelf, the ending songs are still some of my fav 15 years later.

I remember watching Gintama openings before ever seeing the show and i fell in love with them. Then i got to op21 and i felt so sad watching it though i hadn’t even seen it 😭 That just goes to show Spyair knew how to make a song feel final. Im so glad i binged this years ago because its been in my top 3 ever since

Warning: Long post haha Gintama is goated, but unfortunately it's difficult to get into. It has 360+ episodes. Movie 1 is a re-animation of the 1st serious arc + additional scenes. Movie 2 was an alternate ending because they thought the anime would be cancelled. Movie 3 is the finale. Imo, the 2 live action movies and the mini live action series are top tier, especially with the limited fan base and limited budget. The live action encapsulated the soul of the series. (1) It's 80% comedy, which seamlessly switches to drama, mystery, suspense, thriller, action and tragedy. But comedy is its bread and butter, and comedy is subjective. It's a dated show (early 2000s), and it's author is even older than that. So the early season's comedic topics and sense of humor are pretty dated as well. Only in latter seasons do the show's jokes and parodies more recent pop culture and animes. If you can't jive with the comedy, unfortunately you won't enjoy the show. Only watching the serious and action arcs won't give you the same emotional payback if you're not invested in their day-to-day lives. (2) You have to have watched the popular shounen animes out there such as Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto and Bleach. You might also need to be aware of japanese pop culture and traditions to understand some of the context. Gintama's comedy heavily relies on parodying popular animes and pop culture, and making fun of the anime/manga industry. (3) You have to be fine with a main character who will never be the strongest in this universe. Gintoki is flawed and ambitionless, but that's what makes him great. He won't fight for himself, for his own wants, or for his own ambitions (because he has none). But he will fight for others. If he thinks the fight is nonsense, or he doesn't believe the fight is worth fighting, he'll just run away. Only when he believes on what he's fighting for and is strong in his conviction will he fight. The cast is large and diverse. Gintoki will never be the strongest fighter among them, but he remains the heart and soul of the series. None of the characters (except one) gives a shit about being the strongest fighter in this show. (4) You have to be fine with a large cast where they all have depth. The story rarely evolves around Gintoki and our main trio. Most of the time, they are the supporting actors in someone else's story. Sometimes, you won't even see Gintoki in the episodes; he'll just cameo. Only when Gintoki has given so much to others, was he worthy of the loyalty and devotion of the side characters. This is what makes the show great, but I understand that it's not for everyone's taste. (5) You have to be fine with an episodic style of storytelling. Most stories last for only 1 episode. Arcs with 2-3 episodes pop up once in awhile. Serious arcs last for 6 episodes. The last segment of the series is a 30-ish serious arc, but they still didn't drop the comedy. I think you should watch 1second of every Gintama episode. There's enough there to show how chaotic, stupid and funny this show is without spoiling you. It would also gauge if you think the comedy is to your taste or piques your interest. I suggest avoiding watching the top fight scenes. It is full of spoilers and would diminish the emotional payback if you do decide to commit to watching the series. If you do commit to watching this show, only do so if you truly enjoy it. The Gintama fanbase is small, but loyal. But most of us can feel when a reactor isn't interested or is not liking Gintama for what it is. It is not trying to be like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Bleach or Naruto. But for me, this show is the only show that I loved the power of friendship trope. Because Gintoki is worth it.

Gintama, the deadpool of anime. it is vulgar, brutal, bloody and sometimes hard to understand if you are unfamiliar with anime or japanese culture. But it's also funny, heartwarming, heartbreaking and just so self-aware. Not to mention the constant 4th wall breaking. Definitely deadpool 😂 it's not everyone's cuppa tea but when it is, it's the best thing ever.

Gintama is a kind of an unexpected and absurd masterpiece. It's so unique that no other show ever managed to come close. Gintama comedy is genius, the characters are amazing and the story is very well-written. The same bunch of lovable idiots get into all sorts of unpredictable situations with the most absurd humor known to humanity and random references sprinkled on top. And you laugh like never before And then the drama hits you like a truck, and your idiots no longer can afford themselves to act like ones, and all the little pieces and hints of the overarching story and characters' past that have been dropped over the episodes become relevant. By the end you really start to miss the humour even if it seemed weird in the beginning Gintama is truly one of a kind. It's my absolute favorite anime of all time, no other show made me feel SO many emotions

I'm a simple man. I see Gintama reaction, I like and subscribe. Some points, no actual spoilers: - the "baddies in black" are basically cops - yes the trio get hired to do odd iobs - it's a comedy series first and an everything else series second - yes, ppl die (won't say who tho) - it's really, really good (my favorite show in over 20 years and 200+ shows) - it's really, really long, and also not nearly long enough - its a little slow to ramp, and very episodic at first, turning into a full power story later - it defies genre definition, but the comedy is there to make you care about the characters so later you are invested when the stuff goes down

The worst season of MHA in my opinion is Season 5 and it’s not even bad it’s just a little slow. It was also the first season that came out after the show became extremely popular in America which brings out the dreaded fandom😩. And I feel like a lot of people don’t like to admit they like things that are popular so it’s easier to hate on it. But if you just ignore the fandom it’s really good. And most people I know who hate it don’t even know much about it.

One of the few where I watched and laughed to tears! Also, very lovable characters! Absolute Favorite character is Zura (and Elisabeth since they're a package deal tbh)

This is the optimal anime. Best comedy, best action, best emotional moments. You will laugh, cry, be invested in the characters as you see them go through their daily lives. It has an amazing over arching story, everything ties in such well as the series progress. Its mostly comedy, but its what carries the show, without the comedy episodes the serious episodes wont hit the same. On a side note react to gintama endings. They are absolute bangers and many of them are better than a lot of openings.

Only piece of media I have consumed that is both a slice of life comedy but also a political war drama at the same time. Highly recommend
