The Bristol Sports Hall of Fame hosted the captains and senior leaders of Bristol’s high school sports teams at their winter Leadership Breakfast on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Giamatti Little League Center.
Karin Przygocki, a 2020 Inductee of the Hall, spoke to the group. She highlighted the importance of movement and aerobic activity throughout their lives. She referred to the book Spark by John Ratey and explained that his research shows how important exercise is.
Ratey’s book discusses the evolutionary origins of the mind-body connection and how exercise optimizes brain function and supports mental health. Przygocki stressed the benefits of exercise on the mind and body and the importance of staying active after someone’s athletic career. The message was that everyone needs to keep moving and playing.
