I've been to Hawks Nest State Park many times, but I've never stayed in the lodge. Try Pipestem State Park next time you're in the area and get a gorge view 7th floor room, you'll love it. We go there almost every year. The view in the morning with the fog rising is beautiful.

1≤x time I have been inside the above-mentioned hotel. Inside the hotel, there's a historical marker located across from the front desk. The historical marker reads "CAVALIER HOTEL 1927". The historical marker is misleading. The Cavalier Hotel that had existed there was the one built, and opened, in the 1970's. The older Cavalier Hotel dating back to Year 1927 still exists. It's located directly across Atlantic Avenue from the more modern Hilton and Marriott hotels. Anyhow, the older Cavalier Hotel had undergone extensive renovations. I haven't been inside the renovated Cavalier Hotel yet. I need to think long and hard before I do so.
