I remember collecting a lot of the trackmaster 2 revolution. It honestly gave me a lot of nostalgia looking back on the much older stuff back when it was introduce. Back when I was much younger I used to collect the classic HIT and Mattel era stuff And when trackmaster 2 came out I was really excited for it Because it introduced all this brand new more enhanced stuff. But yes I did saw the cheaper quality and it wasn't really up to classic trackmaster standards which I liked. I remember years ago collecting a lot of The classic stuff Because I like the much better quality But unfortunately I spend way too much money on the trackmaster 2 stuff and I wish I look back and actually spend it more on the classic stuff .But that will mean that I'll have to shop more online like places like ebay to try to find more of that Which means that now these days that those older Trains go up for much much higher And I just find that told me unacceptable. I have since moved on from trackmaster and now I am now in the model railroading community and I have my own HO scale layout today:-)

man, Trackmaster Revolution can never compete with the old trackmaster because it doesn't allow you to give them the 9-volt battery treatment unlike the classic trackmaster😭

Trackmaster 2.0 for me was a hit and miss for me. Really wish they would’ve made some of the old school characters for that range along with brake vans.

Trackmaster revolution really suffered from not being able to free wheel and was all just too gimmicky. There was a lot of problems but those are 2 big ones

This was probably the first sign of Mattel actually being a cheap corporation that did not understand or care about the appeal of Thomas(crazy, i know) but everyone thought the show was good then so they looked past it. There was really no real reason as to why they changed trackmaster other than they wanted to save cost and make as much money as possible with the new brand they acquired that they thought was going to be their cash cow (lol, look what happened.) They probably just made the trains able to climb steep hills as a cheap compromise to how "cost-effective" the line was. The first years of trackmaster 2 compared to what came before were absolute poo in terms of toys and then you look at Tomy in Japan with their new plarail range and it is the absolute opposite in terms of quality. And everyone wonders why Thomas is so successful in Japan and in decline in America. Mattel did try in trackmaster's final months, i noticed, to make slightly better toys (Annie and Clarabel were nice) but it was way, way to late.

Since the toys are ripped off from Bandai and Tomy, I imagine this knockoff exists because of Korea's ban on Japanese goods at the time. The other option outside of bootlegging their products was to import them with different companies attached to them. That's why they have the Hyundai Comboy instead of the NES and the Samsung Gam*Boy instead of the Sega Master System.

i completely hate trackmaster revolution. Caused buyer confusion, was incompatible with basically everything else, chassis were awful to work on and use, all the locos looked awful.

I grow up with Trackmaster revolution

I remember that I have the 5 in 1 builder set the water tower starter set, as well as some other sets based around their own respective movies. Like the shipwreck rails set, the sky, high bridge jump set, the scrapyard escape set, and the boat and sea set. Even after Trackmaster revolution Had ended I did get some amazing goodies Such as the monkey adventure set, The all round sodor Deluxe set and Nia and the elephant. As for the all engines go sets I have the 6 in 1 Percy set, A bridge to sodor set and The paint delivery set. As far as engines go I have every single steam team member in their revolution forms, but I'm slowly starting to Go for the cgi Plarail Designs, I have the regular Diesel and the tunnel blast set Diesel. I used to have the Revolution version of Freddie but I had taken him outside and play with him on the sand and then I don't know what happened to him, so I got the trackmaster version for Christmas in, I believe 2016 but Even then, his motor or his gears didn't do any favors so I will have to get another Freddie probably the one with the bike. I also got some great Packs like Trophy Thomas, The Flying Scotsman, Shooting star Gordon, Red vs blue Thomas, Philip, Royal Spencer, Merlin, Hurricane, Steelworks Thomas and a couple others that I missed out like Glynn, Ryan and Jerome and Hugo and Skiff. Heck even the packs from Motorize are really good like Duchess, Kenji, Thomas with Annie and clarabel, Thomas and Terence, Percy and the tanker and Henry and Winston. It may be pretty mixed among the fandom, but I still like it despite some of their weird choices.

I grew up with revolution, I always wanted to get Gordon and Henry but I never did because Henry was impossible to find at Walmart, target, etc in Ohio (pls don’t make fun of me 😭) I bought a squishmallow over Gordon in 2020 and I’m still on the hunt for tomy/plarail Edward Gordon and Henry.
