Don't you just love watching Kiwanis online on kiwirail. 😊.
This year's show is on at Cowles stadium October 12th and 13th with 27 layouts and 15 traders it's another great show and 7 trains kids can operate this year
Shit film
Thank you for posting this. Any idea why they swapped the locos around on the return trip?
Sorry but it is not Hornby model, it’s Bachmann model.
Great job guy's. I wish i could join and help out
Great vid Cayleb, one of your best chases

Interesting
Oaro is the most interesting crossing station on the MNL. Always like to see video clips from this area. PICTON.

Good Work On The Video. 😁👍🏼
Cheers Mate.
Hey. Not.fan.of.night.shots.but.still.a.great.vidoe.steven.wellington.also.are.they.sone.loc.done.the.runsure.
The Coastal Pacific normally runs two standard seating cars, a Cafe car, a viewing car, generator set car, a kitchen car and a baggage car. The last two vehicles are ex BR MkII coaches (ex Virgin UK) refurbished and new bogies. The viewing car and generator car are rebuilt from old freight guards vans, the rest were built in NZ at Hillside workshops in Dunedin about 14years ago. Similar vehicles are used on the Northern Explorer and the TranzAlpine, but are normally run with more standard seating vehicles.
Thank you. In previous videos of this train I haven't seen the two coaches that look like baggage vans (the "blind" ones with the sliding(?) doors. What are they, and why does the one have one set of doors and the other two? Thanks.
the carriage with one door is a new Kitchen carriage and the Carriage with two doors is baggage
@@NZRT5068 Thank you. I enjoy watching NZ train videos. Same Gauge as S Africa, & we also run GE U26C's. Unfortunately our once-proud system is now in a shambles.
Those shots just south of Oaro are something you rarely if ever see. I’ll hope to get some videos down there next summer!
Oaro again, and again!
That first part was, I think, Oaro?
yes it is
yes phil.oaro has changed since i was driving in kaikoura in the 80s.so has the whole coastline.cheers.peter barrett.
The bit at the end is too
There was water in the river?? Climate change!!!!! Lol
Thats standard weather for the coast
Thanks for a lil slice of your world!😊 What the temperature during this shoot?
Atleast 9 degrees 100k winds
Great Video Geoff, thanks for sharing
Fantastic to see some smooth footages and captures on your video Cayleb. The video corder has a decent frame rate!
Great Video, my bet is Masterton Station, North west winds, thanks for sharing
Black shirt and white btie .
Interesting. But I couldn't figure out what was going on between the two groups of locos: 5270&c, and 5039+5402. Any chance you could please explain? Thanks.
5270 5431 5195 5241 The Bankers 5402 5039 on Coal Train 848 waiting in the loop to depart on to the main out of arthurs pass.
Perhaps you can help? I saw the letters "EFI" under the loco number of a DX in a video: do you know what it stands for?
Electronic Fuel Injection
@@NZRT5068 Thanks. I wondered if it was that, but it seemed more appropriate to a sportscar!
favourite driving.df in south island.dx in north island.
Such power go NZR oops Kiwi rail
What a magnificent sight
Looks like 5264 just about due for a couple of days in the workshop.

Built to Last, and the G E engineering staff can upgrade them, Quality and professional after 40 years, do like the Big rear Horn for Rich Bariton Bass 🔊 Sound ..
LOVE the old U-boats :)
Whrn are they going tp learn a bout water levelsin the boilers
Very nice looking Class 40 model!
Thanks for your video im from puerto rico a american colony. We used to have metre guage locomotive back in the 1880 but by 1953 they where removed from our infrastructure. I wished we could still have trains
Magnificent catches of the trains coming by and pass, i like it 5 stars, keep up the great work, my friend, i subbed your channel, Greetings from Portugal to New Zealand.
2:11 It seems from the smoke all four locos are online!
I assume they use 2 DXs on the TransApline to avoid a need to turn locos at greymouth?
Nice seeing a E O class still active no 3 is one of the ones used in the otira tunnels from athurs pass - Otira and back!. They also did logging up there also along with coal. and retired around 1967.
Nice Footage Mate
Wow.
Cheers for putting up the great vids. I'm guessing Christchurch area judging by the coalies?
Muir8009 Yup Christchurch
