    Two of my favorite podcast these days. We never had a camp to go to while growing up, however we lived out in the boonies as it was. Thanksgiving Day was always sight-in day in the neighborhood. You could hear gun shots all day long - as everyone had rifle ranges in their back yard. Miss those days.

    Good review, question for you I hunt upstate ny mostly treestand bow but sometimes stillhunt to. Looking for warm gear for mid-late October/ nov/ and early December. The heat boost productslooks good, think I should go with Saskatoon suit and Matterhorn suit or Elkins and Matterhorn? Hate being cold ! Thanks if you have any input!

      I love the heat boost products as well!! I LOVE the Sasskatoon! *review* coming soon on that one. I’d say the Matterhorn is perfect if you are in a tree and not planning on moving at all. I think for the time frame that you mentioned you’ll get more out of the Elkins and Saskatoon’s sets. It I had to pick between those two…edge goes to Saskatoon.

      @@AntlerUpOutdoors I appreciate the feedback. I’ve been wearing First Lite for a while but the past few years I’ve not been a big fan…way over priced and quality has gone down a lot. I came across huntworth but dismissed them…thought maybe it was cheap junk but I’ve seen a lot of positive reviews. I can damn near get bibs and jacket for what First Lite wants for just a jacket. I really like Huntworths camo patterns. Are you strictly wearing Tarnen? I was looking at that and deception

    What do camo pattern do you recommend for varmint, coyote and jackrabbit hunting in the Southwest? I ask because I’m thinking of getting a matching camo bib, and vest or jacket specifically for times when I travel out of state to colder regions, and just layering what I already use for the temperate climates underneath. Also, do you recommend any specific jackets, gloves etc for this type of situation?

    sorry but very rarely is it simple in any way to kill a true mature buck,, they are tough to kill in most places. obviously there are properties that are managed for deer and deer alone and those places that keep low pressure and several hundred acres of goodcover with food close, then ya it does make killing a big buck much easier, but for the average guy killing 5 yr old or better buck is very complicated. 3 and even 4 yr old deer make alot more mistakes than 5 yr or older bucks,, they are a dif breed

    • @AntlerUpOutdoors
      @AntlerUpOutdoors 2 місяці тому

      Coulsnt agree more in that a mature buck is different breed and extremely tough to close the deal on. The “simple” approach discussed isn’t saying completing this task is simple rather, everything we as hunters can control. Seems we tend to over-complicate things from gear, shooting technique, over thinking where and when to hunt, etc. So Andy who I consider one of, if not the best hunter today breaks this down. Thanks for the checking it out.

Other than just having a little fun those long shots accomplish very little as far as archery is concerned.
