I absolutely love this piece! While originally for organ, what I appreciate about the symphony is that because of size and variation of instruments it is in a position to build on the theme to make it bolder and bigger than one could on the organ. Bravo!

I was born in 1951 into a typical NYC post war Jewish family. My Mother’s family had the family circle gatherings. My Grandparents got out of Europe in 1921. In 1949 my Mother and my Aunt were told my Grandma’s brother from Poland by a miracle escaped capture by the Nazi’s and was in a displaced persons camp. My Mom and her sister sponsored him and he came to live in NYC. This movie is so touching to me. So much of my family story is there.
