    Weld on a new firebox. A good smoker should be 1/4 inch thick and the firebox should be 1/2 inch thick

    does it do any good to heat paint the OK Joe before first use? will it help prevent rust, corrosion, paint failure?

    You might want to add an outrigger that thing looks unstable!!

      I paddled in a similar boat last weekend. They are initially tender, but stiffen up as they lean to one side or the other. Also, it's only 12 feet long, if it was closer to 15, it would be a bit more stable as well.

      Plan on doing my first solo Weekender soon. I've done a lot of day hiking out there. And tons and tons of regular car camping. Can't wait to get out there on the trail overnight.

    the FCAW process he is usi g even though it may be FCAW-S can still handle those surface impurities, its not GMAW running ER70S-6 where the joint needs to b all nice and clean, FCAW can handle rust, other that tbat this video is really good

    I did that trip but went on to La Grange. A pressing four day trip. The only good camping I found was a little downstream from Smithville. My goal is to put in at La Grange and go to Matagorda.

      It makes a protective barrier for your cook chamber. You can use olive oil, I personally use beef tallow.
