I have a problem with my it wont start at all has spark and gas is getting to it but i will kick and kicked nothing happens then if you spray a lil starting fluid and kick it about 4 more time it backfires really loud any ideas

Hey man, quick question/s. My buddy and I were building a go kart with one of these motors and had water in the coolant lines. Suprise winter storm in Texas came to freeze and the block cracked. We got super lucky and found a guy who had an extra. We swapped the heads, and I've been having lots of problems. I don't know if I've got the timing correct, and the motor seems stiff to turn over, but it will turn over. The Valves seem fine. Im not 100% sure but its possible the motor Got turned in the wrong direction at some point. How do I know if the engine is on exhaust or compression stroke when setting the timing? Do you think there is any chance of this motor running again (Without major spending)? And lastly, how tight or what spec are the 4 bolts that hold on each Cam thing supposed to be? i had to put them on very loose for them to be able to rotate.

My sled is identical. Starts with starter fluid but won't stay running. How do you test to know if the fuel pump is working?

I got my Mojave a few months ago it used to start in a few kicks but recently it was having trouble to start an idle and started to spit and sputter then died and wouldn't start back up I replaced the spark plug and cleaned the carb I checked the timing and the cam gear marks aren't lined up like yours do I loosen the four bolts and adjust the cam gears so they line up thank you i was confused what i have to loosen and move ?

Do you think it would be easier to pull the line from the tank itself and leave the other end on the pump insted of having to mess in that tiny hole with your pliers?

There is a nipple to the left of the pulse line on the crank case what hooks to that Carb line ?

You must add zinc to get cam life. They die early without it

You must use ZINC additive if you want long cam life.

Hey! I have a 02 Mojave 250. It has two issues right now. Ran it this past weekend. Day one ran okay. took several kicks to start and it didn't want to idle. Second day Didnt want to start. cleaned carb got it running again but still didnt want to idle and took many kicks to get going. Do you think I should check the valve lash? or is this likely another issue. I know without getting your hands on it it's hard to say, but any advise would be greatly appriciated. Also have clean filter, new plug and coil, good fuel.

What's the valve lash supposed to be at? I'm having a problem with a Mojave I picked up recently. Starts, idles, and will ride, but if I stay on throttle at low-mid rpm it will choke itself out. I rebuilt the carb, changed out plug, etc, no improvement so thought I'd check timing and valve lash unless you have any other suggestions?

What would make my 87 mojave idle really high after hit the throttle? And then won't really idle back to till I choke it. It doesn't seem like the throttle gets stuck or anything either. It's starts to idle high again after I turn the choke off and if I adjust the idle screw then it just dies. Thanks

I have an 04 800HO and just put a fresh rebuild into the sled. Tried to start by pulling it over and wasn't getting any fuel to the carbs. I put fuel in the cylinders from the spark plug hole and it ran for two revolutions. My question is, how do you get the fuel going for the first time and how is it best to tell if it's the pump when this method fails? The pump worked fine last season when the sled burned down..... Any suggestions would be appreciated so I can try and salvage the season.

I was just wondering Brap Team. Do you happen to know off hand the fuel line sizes, Particularely from the pump to the carbs, As well as from the tank to the pump? I appreciate it in advance :)

other videos on this subject time the exhaust cam right on the line and the intake cam slightly elevated above the line and thats how mine is but it starts like hard and backfires through the carb once just before it starts but once its started it runs god but sems to run hot
