Makes me feel that these sonatas can only properly be heard when played on the harpsichord. Magnificent instrument.

Los virginalistas ingleses han legado un regalo musical de enorme valor. Son obras con un sello especial y armonías preciosas. La Cortre inglesa de los Tudor, Enrique VIII y sobre todo su hija Isabel I fue centro de cultura, acogió y protegió a los músicos a los que valoraba sobremanera. En la Corte de Isabel I era muy apreciada y favorecida la música española de vihuela, instrumento por antonomasia original de España cuya música tuvo mucha importancia en las Cortes de Europa.
