Demo of Orange Tiny Terror amp
Переглядів 16 тис.16 років тому
Just messing around a little with a clean sound and then with the gain at maybe 2 o'clock. At the very end I turn up the gain to max. This was my Warmoth Strat straight into the Orange TT. The cabinet is a Sonic 2x12 (1 Celestion G12T-75 and one ElectroVoice EVM12L) I mic'ed the cab with a SM57 and that's that. No post effects or anything, just so you can hopefully hear the amp itself.

    Thanks for making a review on this! This helped convince me to get a Voyager II Foam myself, and I'm glad I did!

    Thank you for making this video! I'm actually considering the "Wavebone Voyager II Foam Chair" - do you know anything about it? Looks a bit similar to this but with a headrest. Also curious how this chair has held up for you?

      Hi! Yes the chair is still holding up great, zero complaints and no issues or damage after daily use. Sorry I have no experience with the foam version but I can see it being comfortable.

    How does this compare to Herman Miller aeron?

    • @TomerBusidan
      @TomerBusidan 2 роки тому

      I don’t have a Herman Miller to compare. However my wife has a nice chair from Knoll, which is a high end chair similar to the Herman Miller. Honestly the material on her chair is more comfortable than mine, and I assume the Aeron is the same. It feels more like a fabric whereas the Wavebone feels a little more like plastic. However that being said, I still like the Wavebone a lot and don’t regret the purchase. I love the ability to move the arms out of the way when using my laptop on my lap, or playing guitar. I use that feature literally every day. And the Wavebone material is not UNCOMFORTABLE when you’re sitting in it by any means, but if you try to directly compare side by side then you’ll notice the Herman Miller is more comfortable. But the HM also costs 3x as much and the arms don’t move. Oh I will say this…the Wavebone sells itself as a studio chair, and being quiet is one of its selling features (i.e. they say how the castors on the chair are extra quiet). I don’t find this to be true. I find the chair to make the usual creaking noises as I move around as all other chairs do. If I’m recording, I do have to pay attention to sit still. Maybe I can tighten up some bolts but not sure that’s do anything.

    What's the max height from the ground to the center of the seating part? (not the backrest). The website says 52cm, which is nearly 10 cm lower than my current chair. Might be too low for me, I'll drop the chair a bit when tracking guitars, but when back on the desk I need it back to full height.

    • @TomerBusidan
      @TomerBusidan 2 роки тому

      Hi Rex I just measured at max height and 52cm seems accurate. I'm 5'7" and at max height it's a little too tall for me so I drop it down a few inches (also at max height, my legs would just barely fit under my desk anyway). Hope this helps! I've grown to really like this seat, it's pretty comfortable overall. Also (something I did not note in the video because I didn't realize at the time) is that having the arms fold back is awesome when you're working with a laptop actually on your lap. I only thought of it for guitar purposes, but even just typing with a laptop on your lap is much more comfortable when you move the arms out of the way.

      Tom Goldsmith guitar oh wow thanks for the kind comment! This was so long ago lol, just some sloppy playing as I was trying to figure out this Orange head. Hoping to mess around with some videos soon :-)

    I really just used the guitar's volume...roll it back and the amp cleans up nicely, turn it up and the amp distorts. Also, the harder you pick the more distorted the amp will be. So turn down your guitar volume and play softly to be clean, turn up your guitar volume and play harder to get heavier. Hope this helps!

    hey what settings do you use when you go from heavy distortion to clean? i cant figure out what to do

    I'm not sure exactly (it's been a while since I recorded this), but I would estimate it was on like 2 or 3.

    In the begining, what was your guitar's volume on?

  • @ansla

    Alright, thanks for the reply! I subscribed to your vids, so I'll know when you post new stuff... :) If you want, you can check out some clips here where ZZ Top plays the Jools Holland show. Billy was playing an Orange amp, which I doubt I've ever seen him do before. Probably a modded one (and clearly not the TT), but what a great tone.

  • @TomerBusidan
    @TomerBusidan 15 років тому

    You're welcome :-) As far as a Billy Gibbons tone, I have to admit that I haven't listened to much ZZ Top in my time, so I can't make a comparison. What I CAN tell you though, is that the clean sound on the amp is really nice, and the amp plays well with pedals. So if you're not opposed to pedals, I'm sure you can get pretty much any sound you want out of this amp. Good luck! (BTW I think I'll be recording something new soon, so keep a lookout...it might answer your question better).

    Thanks for the demo! Most demos are about whether it can do metal or not, which does not interest me that much. I play a Warmoth Tele with Kinman Broadcasters and looking an amp with a Billy Gibbons sorta vintage gain, do you think the TT is up for the task? Also considering the Orange AD5, just cant make up my mind... Thanks again!

    I guess it depends on whether you're using humbuckers or single coils. I only have a single coil guitar currently, so I haven't tested it with buckers. I can get clean with the gain at around 9:00 and the volume all the way up to 3:00 or so. That's on the 7 watt setting (which is the only setting I've used thus far). There's also a 15 watt setting so maybe you can push it even a little harder.

    Wow, thanks man I appreciate the comment. I was just kinda improvising the whole time to tell you the truth, I wasn't playing any set songs.

  • @TomerBusidan
    @TomerBusidan 16 років тому

    Cool thanks man! According to the back, this was made in "PRC" which I assume is People's Republic of China.

  • @TomerBusidan
    @TomerBusidan 16 років тому

    Thanks! The volume was between 8 and 9 o'clock (so it was pretty low). This amp gets surprisingly loud even on the 7 watts setting, but it's pretty controllable.
