HEP Seminar - Electrodynamics in 2+1 dimensions
HEP Seminar - Electrodynamics in 2+1 dimensions
Zohar Komargodski, Stony Brook University
Abstract: Based on a recent paper with S. Chester and work in progress with S. Chester, T. Dumitrescu, and R. Thorngren. Electrodynamics in 2+1 dimensions is a strongly interacting theory. We will discuss its possible behavior at low energies, highlighting how a recent proposal passes many nontrivial consistency checks. An important practical matter is the distinction between R gauge theory and U(1) gauge theory, that we will address at the end of the talk and we will also discuss the force between fractionalized charges.

Dark matter is dilated mass. Mass that is dilated is smeared through spacetime relative to an outside observer. It's the phenomenon our high school teachers were talking about when they said "mass becomes infinite at the speed of light". A graph illustrates its squared nature, dilation increases at an exponential rate the closer you get to the speed of light. Time dilation is just one aspect of dilation. Dilation occurs wherever there is an astronomical quantity of mass. This includes the centers of very high mass stars and the overwhelming majority of galaxy centers. The mass at the center of our own galaxy is dilated. This means that there is no valid XYZ coordinate we can attribute to it, you can't point your finger at something that is smeared through spacetime. In other words that mass is all around us. Dilation does not occur in galaxies with low mass centers because they do not have enough mass to achieve relativistic velocities. It has been confirmed in 6 very low mass galaxies including NGC 1052-DF2 and DF4 to have no dark matter. In other words they have normal rotation rates. All binary stars have normal rotation rates for the same reason.

@@ewdlop1 Einstein explained dark matter in the 1939 journal "Annals of Mathematics" - "The essential result of this investigation is a clear understanding as to why the Schwarzchild singularities (Schwarzchild was the first to raise the issue of General Relativity predicting singularities) do not exist in physical reality. Although the theory given here treats only clusters (star clusters) whose particles move along circular paths it does seem to be subject to reasonable doubt that more general cases will have analogous results. The Schwarzchild singularities do not appear for the reason that matter cannot be concentrated arbitrarily. And this is due to the fact that otherwise the constituting particles would reach the velocity of light." He was referring to the phenomenon of dilation. There is no singularity/black hole in the center of our galaxy, that would violate the known laws of physics. There was clarity in astronomy when Einstein was alive.

Hi John. Your understanding of what Sagan and Gold were doing is very weak. For example, one of Sagan’s students, W. Reid. Thompson, predicted free surface methane, ethane, & nitrogen liquid on Titan (very informally internally known as Titan oceans) via physical chemistry calculations about Titan’s atmosphere, supplemented with laboratory experiments. Reid’s (calculated) predictions were fully verified by the Huygens probe, tragically after Reid died. Another of Sagan’s students, Stephen Squires, effectively ran the first rover mission to Mars, via oversight responsibilities at all stages of the project. Notice that you imply you use data from that mission. And of course there were the nuclear winter stratospheric aerosol calculations (the well known TTAPA paper). [ Gold is a more complicated and longer case… learn about him for yourself. You might prep by ‘refreshing’ your knowledge of Solar System planetary formation and deep Earth light hydrocarbon chemistry. Also, consider his pulsar, surface abrasion, cochlear, goniometry, and ruby laser work, among other things. Did you know he ‘completed’ his graduate training in physics in a concentration camp (in England of all places)? ] John, I sure hope your actual scientific efforts are not as ill informed and weak as your understanding of what was happening in the early stages of planetary astrophysics. [What did you do… read a couple of popular books and watch some tv shows and videos about it, and then conclude you understood the field? I strongly encourage you to try much harder before speaking about such topics. Or you could just continue to wallow. Cheers.]

There is an elephant in the room explanation for "dark matter". General Relativity predicts dilation, not singularities. In the 1939 journal "Annals of Mathematics" Einstein wrote - "The essential result of this investigation is a clear understanding as to why the Schwarzchild singularities (Schwarzchild was the first to raise the issue of General Relativity predicting singularities) do not exist in physical reality. Although the theory given here treats only clusters (star clusters) whose particles move along circular paths it does seem to be subject to reasonable doubt that more general cases will have analogous results. The Schwarzchild singularities do not appear for the reason that matter cannot be concentrated arbitrarily. And this is due to the fact that otherwise the constituting particles would reach the velocity of light." He was referring to the phenomenon of dilation (sometimes called gamma or y) mass that is dilated is smeared through spacetime relative to an outside observer. It's the phenomenon behind the phrase "mass becomes infinite at the speed of light". Time dilation is just one aspect of dilation, it's not just time that gets dilated. A graph illustrates the squared nature of the phenomenon, dilation increases at an exponential rate the closer you get to the speed of light. Dilation will occur wherever there is an astronomical quantity of mass because high mass means high momentum. It can be inferred mathematically that the mass at the center of our own galaxy must be dilated. In other words that mass is all around us. This is the explanation for the abnormally high rotation rates of stars in spiral galaxies, the "missing mass" is dilated mass. To date, it has been confirmed in 6 very low mass galaxies to show no signs of dark matter. This is because they don't have enough mass in their centers to achieve relativistic velocities. This also explains why all planets and all binary stars have normal rotation rates, not 3 times normal. There was clarity in astronomy before television and movies began to popularize singularities in the 1960's. Einstein is known to have repeatedly said that they cannot exist. Nobody believed in them when he was alive including Plank, Bohr, Schrodinger, Dirac, Heisenberg, Feynman etc.

It’s going to take some time to get these climate alarmists to look at other potential causes of climate change because they have begun with the presupposition that it is caused by anthropogenic greenhouse gasses. It’s going to be extremely difficult to get over the climate consensus issue because they can’t back out without losing face. To many prominent scientists have signed onto this ridiculous idea that scientific consensus is more important than actually exploring all the known aspects of science and taking the science where it goes.

Black holes are based on a mathematical misconception. Most people don't know that Einstein said that singularities are not possible. In the 1939 journal "Annals of Mathematics" he wrote "The essential result of this investigation is a clear understanding as to why the Schwarzchild singularities (Schwarzchild was the first to raise the issue of General Relativity predicting singularities) do not exist in physical reality. He was referring to the phenomenon of dilation (sometimes called gamma or y) mass that is dilated is smeared through spacetime relative to an outside observer. It's the phenomenon behind the phrase "mass becomes infinite at the speed of light". Even mass that exists at 75% light speed is partially dilated. "Time dilation" is just one aspect of dilation. General Relativity does not predict singularities when you factor in dilation. Einstein is known to have repeatedly spoken about this. Nobody believed in black holes when he was alive for this reason. Dilation will occur wherever there is an astronomical quantity of mass because high mass means high momentum. There is no place in the universe where mass is more concentrated than at the center of a galaxy. It can be shown mathematically that the mass at the center of our own galaxy must be dilated. In other words that mass is all around us. This is the explanation for the abnormally high rotation rates of stars in spiral galaxies (the reason for the theory of dark matter) the "missing mass" is dilated mass. According to Einstein's math, there would be no dilation in galaxies with very, very low mass because they do not have enough mass in their centers to achieve relativistic velocities. To date, 5 very, very low mass galaxies have been confirmed to show no signs of dark matter. Black holes were popularized by television and movies in the 1960's and belief in them gradually came to be despite the fact that Einstein said they cannot exist and there was no evidence. What we see in modern astronomy is evidence of dilation, a known fundamental property of the universe.

Now if you'd also find out that by such tidal effects - but during black hole collisions - they lose vast amounts of their mass, which is many of the neutrinos orbiting them, then you could actually make significant progress on understanding black holes and dark matter, too, but you're a the right track at least.

There is an elephant in the room explanation for "dark matter". Even mass that exists at 75% light speed is partially dilated. It can be shown mathematically that our own galactic center is dilated. This means that there is no valid XYZ coordinate we can attribute to it, you can't point your finger at something that is smeared through spacetime. Or more precisely, everywhere you point is equally valid. This is the explanation for the abnormally high rotation rates of stars in spiral galaxies, the "missing mass" is dilated mass. According to Einstein's math, there would be no dilation in galaxies with very, very low mass because they do not have enough mass in their centers to achieve relativistic velocities. It has recently been confirmed in 5 very, very low mass galaxies to show no signs of dark matter

The holographic part fails when tracking particles beyond a boundary layer. Black holes have multiple censorship boundary layers. So information is between layers also. It is disingenuous to just use one layer and not every particle and boundary layer. Holography theory leaves to much out. The CNB ( cosmic neutrino background) is also a fluidic boundary layer inside a black hole. That light falls through. A ghost boojum inside a black hole with 2 alice rings. XD

Gluons brain state or boundary layer is outside the center area. Photons the closest and neutrinos next. NBR ( neutrino background radiation) shows the black hole has a fluidic neutrino layer inside it along a boundary layer that has light passing through. A ghost boojum with 2 alice rings in it.XD I hear you getting closer to a version that a dimension collapses to produce a universe version of big bang. Though no natural cutoff for the universe. Also the infinite is finite. A finite amount goes in and a finite life. ( Hawking radiation and black hole evaporation) no description of a particle in highly deformed space time. Spegetified and smeared across time as radiation. No particle or virtual particle at the center or the description of particles near the center. No description of the boundary layers in a black hole. Fermionic, bosonic, neutrinos. M theory needs some tweaking.

Their is no language to matter, Black holes especially, do not have language, because BLACK HOLES do not exist. Black is not part of the electromagnet spectrum, HOLES can never have mass under the current physical laws. Please explain how a hole that has no mass can have the gravitational attractive force to hold over 400,000,000,000 stars in its grip and over 3 trillion planets. Stop with evangelical wheelers attempt to attack science through miss labelling phenomena. They are DARK STARS as was labelled bye John Mitchell in the late 1700`s to early 1800`s. Why are peddling evangelical creation crap as science. I take it from the nonsense you where babbling that NYU and yourself are part of discovery institute.

As of our knowledge, space is 2D flat. If so, why we are living in a 3D world. Stars, planets and atoms are 3D spheres. However, black hole is 2D and thus is as flat as space also 2D. Gravity is always associated with space, and light is paired with time. When gravity is as extremely strong as one in the center of black hole, light completely disappears. Mass represents for gravity. Light as photons has no mass. So, following logics, light is not affected by gravity. However, in reality, light circles around a black hole and creates a donut or a torus. Why so? Imagine a center of gravity creates attraction circles as a field with max acceleration rate G on its 2D plane. Gravity represents stillness. On other hand, light creates expanding circles as a field with max acceleration rate velocity of light c/second. The field of light represents for energy or perfect motion, and it creates 2D space where light can shine. The field of light, as I imagine from the logics of what we have known, a 2D plane must cross straightly with the 2D plane of the gravity field in 90 degrees. The total energy in equation E=mc^2 shows the conversion of energy between these two fields or these 2 planes. Fields of light are circles with their centers on the horizontal circle of a black hole and perpendicular to the gravitational circle or the plane of the black hole. Circles of light looking like donut ring, and black hole is the inner circle of a donut. When light energy expands, the donut ring expands and eat away the energy of black hole. So the inner circle of donut shrinks and finally disappears in the explosion of donut ring into a sphere. When the black hole eats and takes away energy of photons of light, the inner circle of donut expands. The donut ring shrinks and collapses on the black hole plate. We live inside the donut ring and experience both the attraction force of gravity and expansion force of radiation energy of photons. Therefore, we have both mass as inertia energy and thermodynamic energy as of vibrations of atoms inside our bodies and our motions in space. Sun and earth are spheres because their black hole centers are hidden inside the spheres. Light without mass moves on planes entangent with the circles around a black hole and creates straight cylinders of light around the black hole. Lights of different frequencies and wavelengths can move on the walls of their cylinders as the sin waves. Galaxies, stars and dust with mass and energy move around like strings or springs circling around in the donut ring of a black hole. Stars and dust move around the center of a galaxy where its black holes is and create arms of the galaxy. Because the different levels of gravity around a black hole are so much stronger than those around a galaxies, the fabrics around a black hole is so much denser than those around a galaxies. Therefore, dust around a black hole has the shape of a donut ring. Dust around a galaxy has a spiral shape. Dark matters show no light and thus have no thermaldynamic energy of motion and no entropy. Dark matters only stay on the planes parallel with the plane of black hole. The center of a black hole is a point of number 0, where all energy is inertia dark. So, a black hole does not shoot out Hawking radiation beam at its center. Yes, it shoots out radiations on its border. Imagine we have a straight triangle ABC. The black energy level of a black hole is AB, x axis. The thermodynamic energy of the black hole is AC, y axis. A dust has a total energy equal AB+AC or AC. Gravitational field lines, as in my model, are always cross perpendicular to the space plane create the x axis. The 2D plane has y axis and z axis. A dust moveing in space has thermodynamic energy of xy = v^2, and its changing level in gravitational field is z=m. So the changing energy of that falling dust converses kinetic energy (1/2)mv^2 on yz plane into inertia energy level mgh on the circle with radius x1 to the circle with radius x2. Light with different frequencies has different energy of photons E=hf=mc^2. A photon circles around a black hole at frequency f1. Mass of the photon m1 = hf1/c^2. We can say a photon has no mass in our space yz but has a potential mass m1 compared to the pptential energy of zero at the center of the black hole. Therefore, blue light with higher frequencies moves closer to the center of black hole than red light does. An object moves toward us has blue-shift, but a object moves away from us has red-shift. After the big bang, the universe was built and is as we are today. Different object has different level of gravity or potential energy level on x axis. Imagine our legs pointing toward the center of black hole and our heads pointing outward to the open universe. When an object moves closer to us, it moves closer to the center of the black hole. It increases its potential energy. It circles around the black hole faster and radiates blue-shift frequencies of light. When an object moves away from us, it moves away from the center of the black hole. It loses its potential energy, and it circles around the center at reduced frequencies. It radiates red-shift light.
