I find it fascinating whenever people have criticisms about Cold War Zombies and what they don't like, it's simply listing off everything that saved Zombies from the pit of despair that Black Ops 4 left behind and made it one of the most played, most successful iterations of Zombies of all time (Which Treyarch confirmed themselves to be the case, don't come at *_me_* for reiterating it, random UA-cam commenter typing up a storm preparing to start a fight over it)

Really solid video, I've had similar thoughts when replaying these games recently. Hopefully black ops 6 can prove us wrong.

For how little time CW development actually GOT, it’s easily the best of modern Zombies. Fingers crossed for BO6, but… well, we’ve hoped for far too long.

29:31 “Had they been on a different game…” man. I will never understand this shallow way of thinking about zombies. Maps are made for the games they’re on. That’s why most of the straight remasters fail to improve on the original while trying to be faithful.

The days when you could brag about getting to round 30 were so fun. Now surviving isn’t even the point. Lots of people can easily get to triple digits if they had the time, it’s just not fun anymore. Struggling to stay alive is what makes this game tense and fun. Having maps be too easy kills the game for me

My experience is I played WAW first and I loved the survival aspect and trying to reach round 30 which was the round 100 in the modern day , when it played bo3 I only played the giant at first I didn’t like Easter eggs and quests . Then it grew on me and I switched from a high rounder to an Easter egg player and then I hated bo4 when it first came out and now I love it . Bo4 as a game I think had the shadows of evil effect where we didn’t like it at first but as time goes on we appreciate the time put in it and how good it really was

It’s interesting seeing younger folk who grew up with bo3 zombies now talking about it as the “good old days” of zombies I’m from the WaW era and I felt like Bo3 was “not the zombies I fell in love with” haha too many cutscenes, colors, emphasis on story, bosses, enemy types, etc etc It’s crazy how the current era of zombies has made us all comrades in wishing zombies was better

Tbh i rather have a character that says nothing than a shit character pack a punch should have atleast take your weapon cold war EEs are only good to have the epic starter weapon super ee the box is useless no perk limit is great i like to choose between armor and sheid and rng based ee like moon are trash but moons ee gave you all perks for the rest of the game

I still sometimes find CW Zombies fun, but its nowhere near as fun as BO3. That's just peak zombies for me. Also, I am not a hardcore player. I play casually for maybe 1 hour every day.

I remember how big the community was during bo3’s lifecycle.. bo3 was truly the peak of zombies

The only hope we have for a really incredible zombies experience coming back is if they release a standalone game that can be modded, or even just customizable (you can add or remove rarity, loadout features, etc..) But I doubt they’re going to release a standalone game. That would just be incredible though. Or if someone else steps into a serious position of power at activision and treyarch and decides to completely go back to their roots, but that’s equally unlikely. BO3 imo is peak zombies and it’s still going strong with people remastering maps on their own. I don’t think we’re going to get an experience like that.

Honestly for me the mode stopped being zombies after Bo2. The comics were good, but then once Bo3 rolled around the story stopped being about Group 935’s creation of the undead and its aftermath and more about aliens, fracture, loops and way too much goofy shit that it was just a huge turnoff for me. Yet I still played it. SoE has a big ass squid in the sky once you unlock pap, then in order to beat it you had to power up 3 trams so that they basically crash into each other to form a beam that heads to the sky, but in order for all that to happen you have to grab a ball and 4 artifacts that, when used in a summoning site, somehow brings a dead person back alive and then kills them again to spawn in what looks like a facehugger from the Aliens Series. Then after all that is over with the ball that you got at the start is immediately taken away from you because of Richtofen. Then there’s The Giant in which P.Tank, P.Takeo and P.Nikolai somehow end up in Dimension 1 and then create a fracture after P.Richtofen (who somehow is in the teleporter despite using a Portal in SoE) shoots U.Richtofen in the head, then goes to collect his soul but at the same time not because apparently he befriended a child version of himself in ANOTHER dimension and killed that version instead, meaning that the journey to Dimension 1 was entirely useless. Der Eisendrache takes place in the same fracture, in where U.Tank is being transported to the Moon because Dr. Groph wants him for some god damn reason for a test. Then they fight a big ass keeper (been awhile since I played DE’s boss fight so I may be wrong here) for some reason, after they destroy the moon and get U.Tank’s soul Then they head on over to Zets which takes place in a different timeline in where they fight a spider and a Giant Thrasher Then they head on immediately head on over to Gorod Krovi but they don’t, they go to Blood Of The Dead to retrieve some vials then they come back to Zetsubou. THEN they head over to Gorod, they fight a dragon, U.Nikolai and find Sophia who apparently was Maxis’ love interest. They deliver bombs, raise a dragon, start a family, call in air strikes and piss off to the house after it’s all over with. the House which is in ANOTHER dimension which is apparently “the perfect one” but then it’s in shambles after Maxis’ dumbass grabbed the summoning key and let loose The Shadow Man. Primis Defeats TSM, all is well but oh no our crew has a problem as them merely existing is enough to throw the perfect dimension into ruins or some shit like that despite the fact that the whole reason the dimension went into shambles in the first place was Maxis being a gullible person so Monty decides to erase them from said dimension but then at the last second goes “Hey, wait a minute, how about I send you 4 to the great war which is literally just Origins but taken place in 1312 or something shit” and apparently throughout all of this he didn’t think once to throw primis a bone and give them a pseudo-godmode or something throughout their entire adventure. No it’s just “Do this thing if you die the loop will reset and will keep resetting until you beat The Shadow Man” which canonically does happen, which means that each version of primis probably isn’t the same version we know of from Origins but there’s also a probability of it being the same Primis. And don’t get me started on what the fuck Bo4’s story was. Jason Blundell will honestly never be a better writer than Jimmy, because at least Jimmy’s story had some sort of sense to it.

One thing I had recently learned from a video was that Juggernog didn’t up your health in WAW, it had actually greatly reduced health regeneration. Meaning you could easily keep the last zombie on any round, let it hit you, and you won’t ever go down. Obviously if it dies and a new horde comes you’re goosed.

I tho l gobblegums are perfect and why I think bo3 is the perfect difficulty bc gobblegums can make the game vary ez or just help you out like I don’t use the op gums I only use double point and extra credit to get a decent amount of points early game the rest are classics but you need them I don’t use gobblegums every game there just an extra feature that makes the game easier for you if u want to use them but they don’t effect the core gameplay of you dont use them and earning them is simple and ez just spend points
