Astronomican - Light of Hope and Horror | Warhammer 40k Entry

There is a light in the universe of Warhammer 40k. A bright beacon that burns across half of the Milky Way. Empirical evidence of the existence of the God Emperor of Mankind. The Imperium exists today because of it. But it is also a horrific thing. A pyre of souls. A lighthouse of the spirits of the damned. Those gifted beyond humanity's baseline are fuel for its horrific blaze. A small entry o...

    I stick to the idea that a last remaining "Old One" set up the warp storm, picked the Tau for uplifting to be the last weapon against the Necrons. They were supposed not stir the warp, hence no payers, but rely on technology which can rip apart quite few races besides the Necrons. I think said old one got harlequins to help by being or claiming to be Ceogorach, the laughing God. Old Ones were good at shaping DNA and evolution, and were God like in control of pure warp, and made the eldar and orks as 2 examples. Plus I think the Necrons want a species superior to Tau in longevity, and height, similar to what their metals indicate.

    The true horror of Chaos, Tyrranids and The Imperium are relatively obvious. The Necrons and Astartes are a more subtle Horror of humanity lost in exchange for power, to much to be a good deal-to little to be merciful in becoming so alien you do not miss it so... The Tau are more subtle still. The tau are good, in 40k. However, any other sci-fi world they would be evil-think of the dromion from Star trek, with the Jem Hadar and their many clones worshiping them as gods. The Tau are the most good because they are merely Incredible evil. Like China is doing EVEN NOW, they have Propoganda, Reeducation camps, Sterilization, and all the other trappings of Facism. The fact this empire is the most good in Warhammer 40k, in spite of this, is simply a testament too Warhammers Sheer Fucking Darkness. Thiers is the Horror of the setting. The Horror of a grimdark future, where there is only war...

    I like the detail that this is being read out by a clear zealous follower of the imperium. The not-so-subtle jabs at the T'au all through out the video. While still being informative. I do believe a warhammer+ show went into this topic briefly at the end when a stealth suit leader tasked with killing an exodite. But when she finally got to him. He basically explained that the greater good was nothing more than an excuse to hide behind, or a rally cry to perform atrocities. The Imperium knows it's place, has accepted that the galaxy is untamable. War and chaos are a constant. But the T'au's naivete leaves them believing this galaxy can be brought to peace and order. Many have tried and failed, fallen and risen up to try again. The 'Tau are just the next in line, promising upstarts, but totally unaware of the vast ocean of insanity they've entered. And even now they are beginning to see, the flaws in their beliefs, the cracks in the society. The farsight enclave proves that it's not as perfect as they try to act. For how could any of them brake off if it wasn't? The supposed equality is an illusion, and the ethereals become more and more aggressive in their supression to keep people in line. The T'au are regularly called the least bad faction,but that is only because they have no wisened themselves to what they truly must do to survive. They have no found themselves forced to commit atrocities. Their empire not large enough to force them to realize that sometimes the simplest most vile answers have to be chosen then waste endless resources and time to fix a problem that can't be fixed. They are children, maturing, and soon they will reach a breaking point soon enough. Like all the galaxies empires, if they aren't destroyed first, they will experience their fall from grace. And attempt to claw their way back much like the imperium tried. The cycle of this galaxy to any who would attempt to conquer it will not end with them. Also glad you didn't hit on the 'eldar started the T'au' theory. Even as a currently light lore head of 40k. I cannot see a reason for it. I even considered that Chaos had a hand in it and the ethereals made a pact with them similiar to the emperor. And either the ethereals are doing everything they can to protect the T'au from chaos while breaking the bargain. Or...... it's not true because nothing about the T'au screams chaos to me. They are almost invisible to the warp entities with only extreme individuals like Farsight getting any attention at all, and their very ideals scream the opposite of chaos, pure order and peace.

      I did write it from an Imperium-stance just for caricature (I'm actually building a Tau combat patrol at this moment, so I can't be too biased!) Also - I believe the Tau have more conspiracy theories than any other race in 40k, so I intend to collate them (even the insane ones) at a later date 😊

    The more compelling theory overall is the vast majority of Tau are simply Necrons that chose to not go through with Biotransference and stuck it out in their original bodies for 60 million years. Eventually they forgot every single thing about the Old Ones, War in Heaven, ect. 60 million years come and go, they stay pretty much the same, until the Ethereals show themselves, the etherals are actually modern necrons using displacement fields and other tech to make them look like normal Tau.

    Greetings good sir. I must say your video gave me more than a few chuckles. I do understand the persona of Imperial loyalist, but some statements you've made were truly hilarious. The accusations of hypocrisy or calling the Tau Empire - Empire of lies - truly amusing when looking at other states within Milky Way Galaxy. The entire faith in the God Emperor - is built upon lies. Upon the words of First Heretic! Good Lord Gulliman said as much. The Imperium promises security - but gives none. The Imperium claims that Emperor loves it's people - when he didn't even love his own sons. The Imperium claims that the what is paid in to the Throne saves the Imperium, when so much of it is wasted by decadent nobility. I found it amusing that you failed to mention the Elemental Council - how despite the fact that Ethereals have the deciding voice - all Castes and member species of the Empire, have at least voice in politics. That those who are in positions of power, reached them by blood - not merit. Calling Ethereals "predators" is also amusing, seeing how Tau are predators by nature. Front facing eyes didn't come from nothing. And "Hunter Cadres" are named thus for a reason. And while it's true that Phill Kelly's books are very... unsubtle in regards to pheromone theory, it wasn't exactly confirmed. I mean - Mechanicus can detect a lot of stuff, but they didn't figure out if Ethereals have power of manipulation on their side? Bit weird. On the same note - I found it quite amusing that you didn't compare this ability to what Emperor was during during the great Crusade. Did he not manipulate millions and lie to their faces about the true nature of the universe? And for all their hypocrisy - and it does exist - the Tau Empire does provide for it's citizens. The promise of never going hungry or dirty - is true. Ecosystems of Hive Worlds are healed and people can breathe fresh air! I would even say that many Humans turn their backs on the Imperium, because Tau can provide for their basic needs. Including eating fresh food - and not minced corpses of their comrades. I'm sure that at least one regiment of Imperial Guard changed sides just because Tau provided each Guardsmen with the tortilla. I bet the taste of fresh vegetables and good meat was enough to change their hearts. It's also worth noting that Tau aren't greedy. Even Ethereals don't live in luxury that is so common among the Nobility of the Imperium. Tauva is true philosophy and they live by it, no matter if you want to admit it or not. Tauva - is not a destination - it's a path. Only a fool believes in perfection. Tau understand that. They know they will never reach the peak. But that doesn't matter. Because going in that direction - is RIGHT thing to do. And that is enough. I also appreciate how you Included Tauva Goddess and Necron theory into the video. And most importantly didn't mention the ludicrous notion that Eldar had something to do with the "creation" of Tau. An idea born from minds of those who never met a member of that race I'm sure. I'm also impressive how comprehensive - although clearly biased - your video is. As such - as fellow creator I will recommend it to my viewers. I'm also open to have a discussion about whatever subject is of interest to you. I wish you pleasant and safe day.

      I understand perfectly well the horrors, depravation and indeed hypocrisy of the Imperium of Man. However I adore caricature. That is, to me at least, what 40k does best. To paint your heroes or villains as glorious or reprehensible gives such a wonderfully wicked story. The lens of bias makes things much more fun. So, to ease your mind, some entries will glorify factions, others will vilify them. But don't worry - everyone will be criticised at some point. I just need to get busy recording until I can get to those ones 😊

      @@ChroniclesofAzazel people can't accept the tau are bad. The type of people to love tau(not as a look or style but more like space marine diehards) are those who can't understand 40k, "there is only war". Anyone who understands 40k knows tau are just as bad, given more power they will just become the imperium. Tau still have to have the ai rebellion, they still have to learn faster than light travel within, every race even the necrons have had contact with the warp, the tau will become the next target once the imperium does give up it's position.

      He is very lucky to have you as a Father 😊 and no, zero AI involved - hence why I don't upload often! AI will be the Death of creativity and self-improvement for artists in my opinion. Even if I am not great now, I know that over time I will improve with each entry. If I used AI, I would just... get better at writing prompts I guess!

    The Imperium are still the functionally dumbest-in-universe faction. It still annoys me they're the only human facrion. The Eldar are the worst-written. And the Necrons are the worst-world-built. The Tyranids almost flirt with the same crappy worldbuilding pitfalls as the Necrons, but the in-universe explanation of the Tyranids' powerful nature makes light-years more sense than any of the hand-waiving bullsh*t to explain how the Necrons do-- well --literally anything.

    • @ChroniclesofAzazel
      @ChroniclesofAzazel Місяць тому

      I agree that humanity's worst enemies are themselves. Eldar really need some more books, and some more dedicated storyline (Ynnead sort of fizzled out didn't it?) Necrons and Tyranids suffer from power-creep - there's only so powerful and terrifying you can make factions until inevitability numbs you to the horror.

    the tau are an unholy mixture of necrontyr and tzeentchian trickery. i think they were a ludite pacifist colony of the necrontyr, similar to an eldar maiden world. they survived the war in heaven and regressed even more in their isolation. 5000 years ago humanity found them, with us came the attention of the chaos gods. tzeentch in particular and he used the warp storm to mess with them. once you really look at some of the ethereals models and compare them with necrons its painfully clear. from the segmented front skirt thing, to the egyptian style neck wear, to the ribbons hanging from the shoulders, to the similar curves of the different head plates. the tau symbol itself is clearly of necrontyr origin. it would fit warhammer well if the tau were just necrontyr. because they cant escape their ultimate fate. they will get into the machine and die with no will of their own. they think the exo suits are an advancements, but its just an other form of metal coffin, just like the necron. they have no free will, just like the necron. they were hiding since the war in heaven, but tzeentch made sure their fate was inescapable. some other stuff, both use ceremonial halberds and double sided glaives. their staves look similar too. both tend to like single, centered eye helmets. both always have their symbol in the middle of the chest. as far as i know the tau are not from a area that was under the control of a dynasty. so a maiden world or covert research outpost could be possible. this may be a bit far fetched, but the names could even be related: necron-tyr -> necron, tyr tyr -> tyr au, or au-tyr tyr au -> t'au (idk pure speculation, it could make sense if tyr means something like "people" and au "new"? necron could mean "the great" or something like that) the physical differences can be explained by a few things. 1. the necrontyr/ludite split. maybe even back then the two groups had some differences. 2. the ludite isolation. millions of years of isolation and natural evolution, since likely before the end of the war in heaven. 3. the warp storm and chaos influence since the rediscovery 5000 years ago. 4. i think the ethereals are the closest to original tau/necrontyr, not the other casts. (their symbol even is a coffin, like the necron) 5. similarly the necrontyr they came from must be an ancient line, likely from before the c'tan and the technological revolution their energy supply brought. 6. are those even hooves? or are they stunted brid claws?

      @@ChroniclesofAzazel nice, im glad you like my theory, feel free to use my info. a few more specific things i noticed: - the staffs orikan (5th) and aun shi (4th) are kind of a smoking gun for me, they have almost the exact same handles. imotekhs staff is also very similar in design. - the glaives both use are very similar, specially the little spurn on the inside edge. necron lord (3rd) and aun shi and ethereals (4th) have very similar weapons. the necron did add new technology onto it, but without that addition it would look very similar. - two dangling strips beside the front skirt is a design feature you can find on the necron cryptek, but also on ethereal guards. - i just noticed this, the necron starstele, look very tau when you imagine it fully covered by stone. thats what necrons are, ancient tau skeletons, so they will look different, just like we look different to our skeletons xD -the hasmoteph model is also very simlar in style to tau models: the staff, the front skirt segmentation, the 3 eyes, even the back ornament might be similar to the tau ethereal model ("thereallimited2006" in the lexicanum) -"thereallimited" ethereal model also shows that tau like to grow very long chin beards! i dont have a 360 view of the model only the front view, but that model in particular shares a lot of similarities to the necron. - commander far sights blade look like a necron blade for some reason. the form is extremely similar to for example the blades of szeras or obyron. - the tau honor blade/halberd, if unfolded is a sycle. it also looks very similar to necron weapons. - notice how kroot guns and necron guns share the same downward spike. - scarabs are just drones. -shaso rmyrs battlesuit has a shield. its built exactly the same as a lychguards shiels, same segmentation, same round center. (probably discontinued for being to obvious) -the xv84 battle suit has s strange back attachment, similar to the necrons back spine ornament. - etherealmini3 in the lexicanum also has a lot of necrontyr elements. - the thrones of the ethereals look necron with their central console and round form. something between a tomb blade and a command bardge. - the void dragons "wings" look more tau than necron, like design elements of the ethereals throne. - necrons never cared about their legs, they seem to love switching them out. - the deciever doesnt seems to have toes... its a highly detailed model and all the others have toes if you see the feet and then you notice his forehead slit... - both tau and necron like stacking gun barrel on top of each other, why? bad eye sight? - same with going single eyed. sorry if this is a bit long xD but i swear those are not hooves! they are BIRD claws!

      @@ChroniclesofAzazel my dude... i have a different theory. its all orikans doing. hes the father of the tau, hes the highest ethereal. compare his staff to that of "etherealmini2" (4th), its the same staff. from the bottom: spear tip pointing down, same. followed by a sphere. exactly the same on both. both staves are similarly segmented. and the head, its the same style completely. orikans staff is just "complete". those hammer like ornaments on the ethereals staff are very common on necron staffs. the top of orikans staff looks extremely similar to the head ornament of "etherealmini" (the one with his arms streched out) its crazy, it CANT be unintentional. you cant hold up both (orikan and "etherealmini2") next to each other and tell me they dont have suspiciously many similarities. and this being on a new model, it shows that this is the intention, it was the plan then and it is the plan now, tau are necrontyr, they have always been. orikan can mess with time! he knew what was coming for the necrons! he had the power to spirit away some necrontyr for research. he had the foresight to make sure only he knew. but i do still think tzeench got his fingers into orikans plan, because those are not hooves, they are bird claws!

      oh and with the hooves. what i mean specifically is that they dont look like they have mammalian hooves, instead to me it looks more like feet of herbivorous dinos or large ground birds. idk if that would still count as hooves?
