Norfolk and Western #475 Arriving at East Strasburg - Railfanning - Strasburg, PA (9/26/24)
Back at the station again at East Strasburg to see Norfolk and Western #475 returning from Paradise. Although most of the morning was rather wet, things had started to dry off as we got closer to lunch time.
As we see here, #475 has entered the yard and signals for the grade crossing just ahead of her. The consist goes over the crossing and passes the engine house to the right of screen. By this point, the train has started to enter the platform and continues to slow. The next train after this will be the 12:00pm departure, which my girlfriend and I were scheduled to be on.

Strasburg #8618 Approaches the Crossing - Railfanning - Strasburg, PA (9/26/24)
Переглядів 612 години тому
After a wet and rainy day in Paradise, the weather has not improved much the very next morning. We're back in Strasburg again in the morning to catch Strasburg EMD SW8, #8618 going over the crossing and entering the yard. It's just my guess, but I assuming that Strasburg moves freight on this line early in the morning before they start running tourist trains, and #8618 was doing just that. This...

It's still cold, wet, and rainy at Leaman Place Junction while I attempt to catch one more Amtrak train for the day. This time its Amtrak's 649 Keystone passing through in the rain. Amtrak ACS-64 #631 leads a consist of 5 Amfleet cars, heading to Lancaster station. I'm guessing the speed of this train was about 80mph as well. After this, the girlfriend and I headed back to our hotel room for th...

Back at Leaman Place Junction again, this time on a wet and rainy afternoon. Once again we're catching Amtrak passing through the area, and showing just how desperate I am to do some railfanning during my vacation. This is one of only 2 trains I caught on this day, and I didn't even bother going to Strasburg. So this is Amtrak's 654 Keystone, which I did feature in a previous video. The train i...

It's time to change things up and catch a few of Amtrak's trains in Paradise. Although Strasburg did not have anymore scheduled trains for the day, that didn't stop me from doing some more railfanning at Leaman Place Junction. This however, is not my usual kind of railfanning though. Here we see Amtrak's 654 Keystone passing through Leaman Place. As the train approaches, you can hear the whistl...

While waiting on the platform at East Strasburg for the next train, I wanted to attempt to catch Norfolk and Western #475 since I hadn't taken any video of her at the station yet. I figured this was a great opportunity to capture her arrival back from Paradise, so I had my camera set up and ready to go. When the video starts, #475 has just entered the platform. I've placed one of my cameras dow...

Earlier this month I was back in Bolivar, Pennsylvania to visit family, and Norfolk Southern's line runs right through this part of town. This offered a great opportunity for the girlfriend and I to do some railfanning while we were there. Been kindof dormant commenting on these videos lately. Sorry for that. I've been busy with life since starting a new career. First of all, Thank you for the 2 fan mail unboxings you've done this year. Regardless if they get lots of views or not, it's great to see you cherish these items for years to come. It's great to help you get those Hornby Tankers for you. These came from a time in the 1990s where the US' only HO offering from Thomas was imported from the UK. Happy to help you and a couple other friends get you these Tankers. Sadly didn't get a chance to get more milk tankers since my hobby shop sold out of them. However, I did save myself 1 of them I'm keeping in box form my mint collection.
Continuing here since UA-cam was lagging on my comment. 😅 Anyways, thought I thow in some diecast in as gifts. Felt genrous to give you one of the ertl tractors as a friendly gesture. Love the Shell M2 truck, but just never fit in with the rest of my stuff, so I though, hey why not give it away. Glad you love the subway percy. I actually gave you mine I have outright. I'm sure I'll find another one in good time. Decopac Cake Topper Thomas is cool, but is just a static figure. Interestingly, Decopac made a motorized Thomas that ran on a cardboard track you put on top of a cake around mid 2000s. Happy you got more portrait package Ertls in your collection as well. Especially the 1998 Duncan. Oscar the Grouch was made by Super7, a detailed collectible figure company. I pulled 2 Oscars from the Sesame Street mystery boxes, and got Ernie and Bert as well. Oscar comes with his pet worm, Slimey, which is in the little bag he came in. Overall, a wonderful unboxing video, and thank you for the videos you made about your stuff this year. They have been a blast to watch! Although, I might be a bit biased about it.😏 This won't be the last video you'll see of me for sure this year though, as Christmas is coming around the corner! 🎄🎁

it is infrared controlled like the old remotes for the tv. Lighting in the room esp fluorescents will mess with the controller. It was built for moving around your layout wirelessly you can add extra receivers also.
Hello Thomas!
Actually BoCo and Daisy always shared a chassis in the show. That’s why they were never allowed to be on screen together (except for in Rusty to the rescue when they were just sitting there)
Yes, but the front trucks were switched out depending on which character the chassis was on. Boco had a Co-Bo wheel arrangement, while Daisy had a Bo-Bo arrangement.
Nice.
I got mine a few days ago. Love it! Detail galore! Mine came the say way, but my only beef is SECURING the SMOKE STACK...It won't LOCK DOWN.
Never had that problem with my model, though I'm always knocking the smoke stack off my two-truck climax loco.
I still don’t like the bubbles on thomas
Me either. But if I was to guess why they don’t scrub them off Is because of the corruption of Thomas and friends by mattel.
I guess some of it was for the 2024 bubble tour as they had the passenger cars decorated with them as well. I myself think it's a fun idea, though I think it's also good for Thomas to just look like himself without the silly graphics.
Hey, thanks! I was trying to figure out if this model is the same as the licensed Supernatural ones (which are far more expensive), and you helped me learn that it is! :) Great vid
Nice.
Cool vehicles, I've been planning to see Squad 51 and Engine 51 at the LA County Fire Museum as well as visiting the station where it was filmed but Iv'e seen the current Station 51 by Universal. The station where Emergency! was filmed is Station 127 in Carson, CA.
I'd like to visit Station 127 and check out the LA County Fire Museum, but sadly being clear over here on the east coast makes that rather difficult, though not impossible. I've actually got a younger friend over in California who was born in 1997 (almost a good 30 years after Emergency), and he recently found out about the show through my channel. What was even more surprising is he discovered that he's only a 30 minute drive from the museum, so he said about maybe checking it out when he gets the time to do so. If I can ever come up with the time and money to travel, I wouldn't mind meeting up with him there someday.
@@PlowBenderStudios Yeah, I went to California twice from NY State and was wondering how far Station 127 that represented Station 51 from Emergency! was from the In-N-Out Burger restaurant we were at but we didn't have plans to go there because I found out it was too far from the restaurant. At least I can go next time.
Cool!
Devalue hell 😅 I still play with my cars 🤣
Never trust domeless engines
I'm 74 and from Knoxville but I've never heard of the Pittsburg & Shawmut Railroad. Where did it run from and to. Thanks for the viedo.
The Pittsburg and Shawmut (P&S) which was also known as the Shawmut Line was an 88 mile short line railroad which ran from Brockway, Pennsylvania to Freeport, Pennsylvania. It started out as the Brookville and Mahoning Railroad (B&M) in 1903, and was actually leased by the Pittsburg, Shawmut and Northern Railroad (PS&N), but when PS&N went bankrupt in 1905, B&M became a separate entity. Funny thing was the B&M was renamed in 1909 due to confusion with their cars being sent to Boston and Maine. The Shawmut hauled mainly coal throughout it's life, although passenger service was a thing up until 1939. The Shawmut also acquired a 10 mile stretch of Conrail track from Sligo to Lawsonham in 1989 and reorganized it as the Red Bank Railroad, and also in 1991 they purchased another 110 miles of track running from Lawsonham to Driftwood and organized the Mountain Laurel Railroad. In 1996 the Shawmut was acquired by Genesee & Wyoming (G&W) and operated until 2004 when it was absorbed into Buffalo & Pittsburgh (B&P) which was also owned by G&W. Sadly the main line between Brockway and Brookville was abandoned and removed in 2003, which would be between mileposts 2 and 19. The rest of the line south of Rayard to Colwell, between mileposts 24 and 56 was also removed by 2006. Apparently B&P still owns the ROW, so if they ever wanted to put this line back into service again, they could. I personally don't see that ever happening though.

That’s a shame with the roof. I don’t know if it will happen that soon. But definitely definitely in the near future I’d see the roof of the tunnel, collapsing.
I'll give it till after the winter. I honestly don't think its going to make it.
@@PlowBenderStudios end of an era when it does. Much like the underpass being removed
For anybody that doesn't know, not long after this was taken, the Broadway Limited Imports model of PRR #460 shown here at 12:12 was actually purchased by me! Jesse had taken it out of the showcase to show to Corrie and I was rather quickly smitten with it as I had desperately wanted a model of #460, so it was a case of being in the right place at the right time. That model was packed up and came right back home with me. Absolutely LOVE it, and I feel like I need to get myself another BLI model in the future! Though above all else, I really want to go back to Jesse's store next year, so accommodating and he's a really nice guy to talk to!
Jesse is very welcoming at his store
Very much so, and personally that's the kind of hobby shop experience I like to have. I think that's part of why Jesse is building a layout at the shop, so the public/fellow hobbyists can engage with it as well. Not that I want to bring up past quarrels I've had, but personally I can say I've had a far better experience with Wye Bridge Hobbies in the last year, than I did when dealing with my former retailer of 18 years. You need to have something to keep customers coming back, and a great hobby shop experience is the key to that. Jesse is great with his customers, offers assistance wherever he can, and the prices there are very reasonable. I definitely recommend stopping by if you're ever in the area.
hey mate i really love the Star tanker at 13:00 it looks amazing. is it possible me & my friends can make a trainz model of this, will credit you for this.
I don't see any problem with it. I believe Ricardo messaged me on Discord recently about that and I gave him the go ahead.
@PlowBenderStudios I originally gave him the idea off. Do in that so in a way we're partners. And is it o k if I can make a HO/OO version of it as well? I got some bachmann tankers, and I like to make one someday.
Ok buts what’s in it star peices
@@mr.needlenose Oil or fuel probably.
Will u ever do a collection video of your Ertls
I'm going to see about trying to get one out here before the year is over.
@@PlowBenderStudios yes finally I’ve been waiting years to hear that
I had these! They did more basic ones that came on a blister package with a circle of track (which was black with no roadbed). I had that red diesel with the crane, a green american 4-4-0 with (I think) 2 coachs, and a black German tank engine that never worked. I recall also seeing a larger union pacific diesel set.
Yes, I've seen all those other versions on eBay as well. I was honestly surprised I managed to come across this set, and in this condition for being almost 30 years old. Funny thing is I was looking through my archives recently and I came across a photo of an old HO scale layout of mine from 2005, which I can just barely make out the stock from this set on it. Being HO compatible I do feel is a strength that this set has.
I’m surprised B&P hasn’t painted the Dash 9s sooner
Better late than never I guess. Looking forward to seeing them in the proper B&P colors. I know at least one or two of them are going to look similar to Genesee & Wyoming 1899. Still can't believe I managed to catch that unit leading a consists, especially when I had no intentions of even doing so.
Nailed it. It was one of our trucks when they used it for the music video.
Would that have been one of your drivers that featured in the video or was it someone the production team brought in? Would be curious to hear what happened with the truck after production and if it's still around somewhere.
