Hi. Mate I received these clips and looks amazing. Cheers. Weekend Camper, Australia
They work quite well! Thank you for your support!! :-) Cheers, Chris
Typische Idioten ... diese T3 müssen doch irgendwie kaputt zu kriegen sein ... 😐
That music… crank it up man! It’s just the best ever!!
Will have to check out his ladder. I still haven't decided whether to have a basic ladder like that, or one that swings away and holds a tire as well. Love the sticker. It was watching another vanagon channel where the owner had taken 2 Syncro badges and changed it to say SyncNO 😂
Great video! Awesome weekend!
Yeah man! Next year at the track AND in the state park!! :-)) I'm so glad your first time there was so memorable! ;-)
Any UK suppliers?
Just me. I ship to the UK weekly. ;-)
It was a great time there!
Yessir!!!
Those look like a nice design, and I like that you don't need to modify the hubs beyond pressing in longer studs. I don't love that the rotors are proprietary, though. Are the calipers proprietary as well, or are they an OE part for something? I've done one rear disc conversion thus far, using Epytec-style brackets to fit T4 rear brakes (base 15" wheel model) and they perform very well in driving, just okay as parking brakes. They also required turning down the hubs. I have access to a machine shop at my MakerspaceCT (Hartford) so that was zero cost added, just time. I'll be doing another rear disc conversion at some point, and I'm not sure which to use at this point. My dream would be an option that uses existing OE parts for popular models for best future parts availability, doesn't require hub machining, and has integrated drum-style parking shoes inside the rotor hat. I've wondered if something exists in the realm of vehicles with the super-common 5x114.3 PCD, as such rotors should be able to fit over 5x112 studs with minimal, if any, enlarging of the holes. A friend is junking a circa 1999 Ford Explorer worth investigating as a brake parts donor if I can get to it to tinker before it goes away.
Just ordered!!
When will you have the boards. I want to order soon with the gauge insert.
I have no definite date as of yet. I will make social media post when they arrive. Though. :-)😊
Nice Chris. This was probably the most noticeable performance upgrade I have made.
Nice! Update us on the night drive.
Good work. Got the same kit on mine.
With Music and talking together it is quite hard to concentrate on what you are saying :/
Did you say you re-installed the pin at the bottom that held the adjuster?
Yessir. It says in the GW provided instructions to do that.
@@uniwerksdesign I missed that part . I'm glad I watched your video. Thank you
@@canterburyfour I am as well! :-) Thank you!
How did you fix the tach? I’ve looked at these for a while, that adapter board might make it worth it.
My 85, for some reason, doesn't have a wore for a tach from the factory. I ran my own. The adapter board is so worth it!
@@uniwerksdesign I currently don't have a tach and am using an Amazon GPS dingus to show me how fast I'm going. It works, but it's far from ideal.
@@probablynotian Ugh!
Nicely done. I have the missing center piece. You can have it for free.
@@canterburyfour oh man! Can you email me?

I really want to see how you are fixing the handbrake wire. Again, please do not play the annoying music in the background in talking videos 😢.
I explained how I fixed the handbrake issue in the video. ;-)
Nice clip, a tip for the next one, NEVER play music in the background when doing talking videos. It's soooo annoying 😢
When I did my hand brake I put two 10mm nuts on and locked them together as I didn't have a nylock nut just so it couldn't back off.
Good idea!
Thanks for taking us along! Nice to see the upgrade! It may be superstition, but I wonder if the slow vacuum bleed gets all the air bubbles out? I usually follow it up with a few cycles of pump and hold the pedal while someone opens the bleeder to let a jet of fluid out.
My son did the pump and hold the pedal first. I followed up with the vacuum bleed when I thoght the pedal should be better. ;-)
Looks like your rear brake shoes were not adjusted correctly giving you poor rear braking. Mine were similar until I installed new drums, shoes and cylinders. Works much better. Still plan on installing the Burley big brakes in the front.
Solid plan! And yes, I think that you are correct.
Thanks, Chris! Couple of questions. Maybe I missed, but where did the surround come from? 3d printed? Also, is there any way to set the digi odometer to the actual mileage on the odometer that was removed?
I make the bezels to hold the gauges in. Yes, you can program the odometer to your mileage. ;-)
Nice job, I like watching your video.
Thank you so very much! I really appreciate that! :-)
Will be installing said brakes on my 84 next month! My hearing isn’t what it used to be and I found the music volume distracting from the dulcet tones of your voice. As always thank you for taking the time to do this content.
I am happy with my purchase. :-) Thank you for your feedback, I will tone down the music in future videos. :-)
@@uniwerksdesign I found the closed captions helped for following the details.
Totally awesome! I had been eyeing the Guage cluster from transporter werks, but they remove the center portion and it doesn't look as good. Did you have to do any extra wiring for the GPS speedo?
I talk about the speedo in the video. ;-)
@@uniwerksdesign I thought others required wiring something to the fuse block. Guess I missed it.
The stock gauges are recessed to minimize reflections, which can be very distracting. I like the setup and will eventually convert to that, but I wish to keep the recessed feature of the stock gauges, so I will have to 3D print something for that. Also, the new gauges will have a lot of reflections in the windows at night if not recessed. For some of us easily distracted types, that is an issue. Just saying.....
Hi, question on ordering them/ I went to your web site. Is the price for 1 set for one side? or do you get 1 set for each side for the price listed? thx David
As stated in the product description: Sold as a complete set for both sides. ;-) :-)
@@uniwerksdesignok/ sorry I bothered you and asked the question 🙄
@@dta97392 no worries mate. I get that all of the time. :-) it all good.
Happened on mine...
That’s so funny. It sounds like getting into an old lift when I was a kid. It’s def an improvement 👍
My 1990 already has the tune one
Mine did as well. Is it a GL?

Theres a vid here on the toob where someone made up a small board that would play the 80's hit "Africa" by toto when they left their door open.
Ok, new one is way more annoying.
LOL
I wonder what year that changed my 91 has the tune one?
That sounds so cool
Much better! BRAVO!
Stupid easy to replace as well!!
i should plug mine back in :)
I wrapped my “la cucaracha” buzzer/tone in electrical tape to muffle it. It’s a good balance.
My rusty Westy '87 doesn't have that fancy Dancy sound. Replacement better but silence is golden (until I start the engine!) ☺️👍🇨🇦
I prefer silent as well, but I do like the throwback to the old Volkswagen Fox I drove back in the day.
Great idea. I Worked at a VW shop for 4 years, saw tons of vanagons with tow truck damage there.
Mine sounds better.... silent 😅
I noticed I had one all bent up under there and wondered what it was from, makes sense!
Yah, I definitely like the Aisin timing/water pump kits. Japanese parts in them still.
Was there any issues caused by these bushings or just preventative maintenance?
They looked bad to me.
Your mistakes keep me from making them, so thanks.
That was the point of making this video. :-) Glad to be able to help.
Great idea, had same issue with my awning... 😢
;-)
