@@vanivor I worked at mission over a decade ago and left due to the amount of drugs I saw people doing. I used to walk round handing water to people that looked like there were over doing it and got told off from the manager. Once had to help someone out side I found on my food round that was ODing and the security was doing nothing. I rang them an ambulance

Two of the restaurant staff had tried to tell him and he had proceeded to give them a load of abuse so they called security and he was approached again and nicely asked too step down of the high stools and sit at a booth "for safety's sake" refused point blank swearing and muttering about how we as security couldn't f£##y touch him....so we didn't!

It's clear from the tape that it isn't just someone telling you they are going to stab you, as what I gleaned from the heading (you wouldn't hit anyone who merely said that- point in case, imagine a six-year old telling you that whilst he's boarding a train - you wouldn't run after him, would you?). The clear thing here is that he is escalating the violence while also trying to line you up for a strike (which may have been with a hidden knife). You tried very hard to de-escalate it with words and it didn't work, so you did exactly the right thing.
