Stevens Model 1894 22 Long Rifle Bore video. Is this supposed to have rifling or just a smooth bore?
This video is the Bore of my Stevens favorite Model 1894. I was expecting to see rifling, now I am wondering if it is a smooth bore or is mine worn out?

Set up an external test to show the correlation of the hammer and trigger. This is to help debug why the hammer won't stay in full back position.

Sewer pipe.
@@jamesdunn-cn5ev yes I agree but now I have to figure out how to turn it into a water pipe.
@@franktirelli It is a collectors item, can't replace the barrel. Get is sleaved. If not a collector's item, get a new barrel. (Well, a barrel that is new for to that gun.)
@@jamesdunn-cn5evIt is an old gun with some sentimental value. Perhaps getting a liner put in would be best or I can try to figure out how to shoot musket balls from it
Looks like snow.
It looks to me like there is rifling there, beneath alot of rust. Do you have a cleaning kit? You can probably make it work. There's naysayers that would warn against using it etc. I'd ignore them till you try to clean it up. run an oily patch through it, then a bore brush, you'll be shocked at what comes out.
@@RealDeanWinchester So this is actually after quite a bit of cleaning with a brass brush. At first a lot of crap came out. I'll have it some more to see if I can get it better.
@franktirelli be careful with rust removing chemicals, they'll remove bluing also. Kroil is safe, good as loosening up rust. It will still shoot, you'll just have to see how well it does.
That looks ok to me. Install the trigger spring before you install the trigger. When you install the trigger you should be able to feel the spring tension. If I recall it wouldn't even engage half cock. You could reassemble everything except for the trigger spring and just put prward pressure on the trigger with your finger, see if works that way. I can't help but wonder if you're putting the trigger spring in correctly though.
@@RealDeanWinchester good suggestion and questions. I will reassemble and pay close attention to the orientation of the trigger spring as well as take picture.
Nice video Frank. Please make another showing the internals. Ft. Worth huh? I lived in Haslet for a few years about 20 years ago. This is a great gun to learn on, can't wait to see you get it working.
Hi Dean, ironically I also lived in Haslet about 20 years ago. I lived in a neighborhood called Willow Springs pretty close to the golf course. As you would imagine, things have grown quite a bit in the past 20 years. Small world we live in.
@franktirelli i remember it. We were in sendera ranch.
@@RealDeanWinchester So Dean do you happen to know if this rifle was manufactured with a smooth bore?
@franktirelli I don't know, but that was a thing at the end of the 1800s and early 1900s. They are rather rare. I don't know if Stevens did or not. Is there no hint of rifling at all? Do you have a cleaning kit?
@@franktirelli is the caliber marked on the barrel? I did a bit of searching and it sounds like they made some. The barrels were labeled 22 shot.
Take the doors off and you can easily lift that one man. If you can’t easily lift use a floor Jack/bottle jacks and slide it in once at height.
Got one love it.
@@Alex-lz1so I'm liking mine so far. Looking forward to getting it working.
Are you sure?
No because I'm not good at math
It looks like an early 1894 to me, not sure what the cut off is between early and late.
If your having trigger problems try mounting the parts outside the receiver like I did, you should be able to see what is going on that way. The problem with it not firing is the extractor. If you look closely you'll see a deep peen mark where it has been fired without a cartridge in it, "dry fired". What's happening is the rim of the case is not properly supported where the dent in the extractor is, when the firing pin hits the rim it can't smash it properly, it just pushes it back into the extractor. I think the one you need is the 13WB. Wisners has pictures and measurements you can compare with. It may require some fitting, but some files and patience will get it done.
@@RealDeanWinchester will do. Thanks for the advice!
Super filmik 🚜💪👍🤝
Motorcycle lift?
Super cool
@WileySmith-re1vl yes it does amaze me. I'm visiting family upstate and they have black bear in the backyard as well
It’s a Texas spiny lizard
This works! Fibre glass caravan. I garden hose nozzle off grime. Then hand wash using a foam block. I always dish soap in a bucket of warm water. Then towel dry. Then hand polish. Using Micro fibre cloth pads and a spray bottle with a soft polish. ( Aus. I use 'pink Cherry' ). NOT a cutting compound and certainly not corse rotary machines. No way, I prefer by hand with a soft and gentle touch. Cups of tea are always good. Works great with my wife too❤. Jim.
Interesting, I am curious why you don't recommend a cutting compound or machine? Thanks for the info

Do you have a link to the box and type of flex you used to hardwire
@@alphape8491 I don't have a link, but the parts at Home Depot. It's a standard 4square box with flexible PVC conduit and connectors.
@@franktirelli ok I was trying to see was it a specific box cover for the flex to fit in like it did

@@raiaadarsh1122 yes they do bite , especially if you pick it up. The bites hurt and could be serious if you are allergic.
