J mann you the goat of film break down, Great job brother and we appreciate you!
@@Hince1013 I appreciate it bro!
I am really excited for Kon this season, I think he is our best player and we will see that in the tournament. If Cooper Flagg learns to shoot a basketball we could become dangerous. Scared of teams like ohio state though if we have to match up physically.
I feel like this team improves so much after each game! Khaman is absolutely coming out of his shell which makes us so elite! Also... still not over Coopers dunk! Great breakdown as always Jordan!
@@bentleyweeks05 appreciate you always tuning in Bentley!
The thing that makes this team so special (even more special than the Zion team) is the fact that every team has off nights where shots aren’t falling, but this defense is so dang good that they can completely offset a bad shooting night. Maybe I’ll be a jinx but this team will not lose to the real bad ACC MAYBE they lose to Clemson or UNC but that’s just a maybe
The Zion team had flaws, hence them not winning it all. This team reminds me of the 01 team, great D at every position and a lot of length and size.
I think Caleb missing passes like the one at 6:27 is the primary reason he hasn't really been able to unlock his own offense. He shows lots of potential as a driver, but he makes himself too one-dimensional. I appreciate you taking the time to point out a play like that one because it bothered me live as well. I still have really high hopes for Foster, but there are big areas of his game that need to be improved and cleaned up. I would love him to stay at least one more season, because I think he could make a huge leap.
@@rome8180 yeah just seems like he is second guessing himself when he is out there
I think that either Foster or Proctor will have to take over a little more of the facilitating duties If Duke is going to win the natty. Of course, like you said, Foster's gotta get it together in order for that to happen.
Love these breakdowns, man. Gotta get you on our pod again soon (this is Raul Clement from The Devil's Den pod, btw).
@@rome8180 would love to brother! Let me know when!
Can’t wait to see this duke when the is clicking on all cylinders. I need more from the bench on offense
Duke didn't get anything from the bench on offense in this game, but the bench production was actually really nice vs. SMU.
The defensive look at 16:46 is horror movie stuff. Wow!
@@raycathode498 yep they take no plays off
I enjoy us playing defense more than I enjoy our offense. Like this defense is so special bro. We just gotta appreciate this shit because this isn’t normal. Best defensive Duke team I’ve ever seen.
The offense is really coming along though. I've been saying for months that the 3pt shooting was going to get to 37-38% as a team. And we're seeing it trend that way. We generate way too many wide open 3pt looks (almost 15 per game) to keep bricking. The only thing our offense lacks right now is consistent rim pressure. But even that is improving.
They are great on D, but not as good yet as the Battier led defenses, especially his senior year.
I think 99 and 04 may be a little better imo. 92 was really good also, but not quite as athletic down low.
It’s impressive how many ball handlers and playmakers Duke has. Another insightful video, thanks!
@@kevinprisant this team is so fun

@@bentleyweeks05 appreciate it Bentley!
Duke gave up too many offensive rebounds.
@@EdSessoms yeah that was the one thing you could complain about. That’s SMU’s strength as well. I think it got better as the game went along
Consistently great content J. Defense travels 🔵😈
@@DrhmBlues always appreciate you tuning in!
I love watching these but it’s very quiet
Enjoy your breakdowns. Always learn something. One of the most enjoyable teams Duke in recent memory.
@@kevinprisant appreciate you watching man
I think the two biggest reasons for the improvement in Duke's offense are: 1) Cooper's improved shooting 2) Khaman getting more minutes and Brown getting fewer minutes Don't get me wrong, I love Maliq Brown's defense. But he's been a complete non-entity on offense so far. Having someone the defense can completely ignore makes everyone's job harder. Maluach's offensive role is simple, but just because of his size he has a ton of rim gravity. And that opens up the floor for the rest of the offense.
Maliq is an amazing facilitator. Not everything on the offensive end is about making baskets
Khaman becoming an option has helped the team, I disagree that they are better offensively without brown. He sets the best screens and is a great passer. He finishes well when he does look to score. They play a little differently when he is out there vs khaman. I do agree with #1 though because I think coop is obviously working on his shot and learning what is a good shot. The biggest difference overall i see is the players are learning to play together and getting comfortable in their offensive roles. This is super important when you are trying to play more motion with less designed plays.
The numbers show that our offense completely craters when Brown is on the floor vs. Khaman. But if you guys want to make things up, that's fine too.
@@chadphelps5809 Maliq makes like two passes to cutters a game. That doesn't offset what happens when he turns, sees no one within 15 feet of him, ignores the wide open lane, and pivots into a handoff that leads nowhere. Also, his turnover percentage is really high and he's shooting 36% on FTs.
Almost a flawless game. Fun to watch.
The possession starting at 8:10 is hopefully a good sign for Caleb going forward. There have been possessions recently where he’s seemed a bit disengaged. Not here, he’s calling out the play, he catches and looks aggressive on the catch and he’s calling out where the ball should go. Hoping he’s trending up
He had a great game in this one, I thought. He's actually been better since conference play started. 47/40 shooting splits in conference. He still needs to be much more assertive. He sometimes plays like he's afraid to make a mistake. But I've still got hope he can figure things out. He's only a sophomore, and he didn't even play a full season last year.
he just needs to make a choice, too many dribbles into nothing early this season
@@colebraunecker1236 good things happen when Foster goes downhill

Great breakdown as always man! This offense is finally starting to click in Scheyer fashion. Big one today on the road!
@@bentleyweeks05 hoping to start fast today!
Love the breakdowns! If we see that Tyrese the rest of the season, we ready
Love what I’m seeing from Tyrese this year!
This was such a fun game to watch offensively! The dunks for Proctor were HUGE, and that double screen for Evans which led to the Maluach lob was so good! I wouldn’t worry about the length of the videos too much because it’s fun watching all the plays again! 😎 Happy New Year, and let’s hope Duke has a good year too!! 😈 Keep up the awesome videos!
Thank you for watching!

@@carljackson3947 Happy Holidays to you!
Mostly good ideas here but not quite the solution. The answer is really pretty simple. It is the follow through. When he exaggerates the follow through he makes the shot. The follow through is key on every shot. In the examples you showed, every shot Knueppel made he had a solid follow through. Case in point. Flagg was an average foul shooter 2 months ago. His last game he was 8-8. Some coach found the flaw. Look at the tape. His follow through has changed. Another example is Seth Curry. His foul shots are a joy to watch from a technique standpoint. You can't be a great shooter without a solid follow through.
Um… he does the same thing with his follow through on the misses too
What do you think is wrong with Foster? He hit the top of the back board against Louisville but he shot 40% last year. Still great content as always man
It's called a lack of a set offense by Scheyer and good defense. Go Duke!
Awesome stuff brother!! Great breakdown!!
Jmann thank you dude. Kons shooting is something I've spent a lot of time thinking about. He is a legit sniper and I believe he is still one of the best shooters in the country regardless of the slump. I have noticed that kon shoots a lot better off that jab step but didn't realize most of his misses were of the catch and 2 foot plant.. I really appreciate what you do Jmann. Im telling you when kon gets hot and finds his rhythm its gonna be scary scary. It will change our entire offense. If we can get kon, evans, and proctor on the court at the same time (and hitting shots) our spacing will be absolutely ridiculous. Just a matter of time...
We might need to put him at the point and let him run the pick and roll with Coop and the big guy
GREAT BREAKDOWN! 🏀
Interesting no beard at the pitch, but has a beard after rolling over. 😂😅
Thanks for the analysis! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
I really appreciate the breakdowns Jmann. Its nice to watch someone with good basketball knowledge breakdown these games. Being able to see what we do well and what we still need to improve on is huge. I feel like we've been having mostly C+ and B- games.. when we have that A+ game it's going to get scary
Another great breakdown!
Appreciate the breakdown as always! Jmann is the Man!
I am a student at Duke and lifelong Duke football/basketball fan. This team is legit. This team is deeper than any Duke team I’ve seen since maybe the 2015 National Championship team, and this team might be deeper. The defense is awesome and the team is huge. The only thing is that we struggled to stop the 3s from falling in the first 10 minutes against Auburn and Louisville, but both of those starts felt a little flukey. I have been pretty critical of Scheyer’s offensive scheme and adaptations to the opponent over the last few seasons. I’m still not super happy with how our offense looks when Coop is on the floor. Obviously I still think Cooper Flagg is the best player in the country; however, it seemed to me that the offense played so much better once Coop got into foul trouble and sat on the bench for a few minutes. Cooper Flagg has the ability to make something out of nothing, but the problem is that when he is acting as the primary ball-handler, it feels like there is always nothing there. The team plays best when Coop is part of the supporting cast and others are making plays and getting involved. Defenses are scheming specifically to stop him. Why not use that to our advantage? The first time this happened this season was vs Auburn last week. They got into foul trouble early and they were clearly running some uncomfortable lineups. How do we respond? We take the focus off of Coop. We put in Isaiah Evans, a player that Bruce Pearl probably didn’t expect to play a single minute, and he proceeds to blow the roof off of Cameron. I’ve been to many games in Cameron, including one UNC game. I have never heard Cameron get so loud. Once our offense started focusing on getting him catch-and-shoot opportunities, the Auburn defense collapsed and the momentum killed them. This team genuinely has 6 or 7 players who can take over the offense. We need to continue to use the threat of that to our advantage. The team is super young, which is why we continue to see the huge impacts of Maliq and Sion. If Khaman, Coop, Kon, and Evans continue to improve and mature at the rate that they are currently, I have a hard time seeing this team losing in March. Obviously I am biased, but the potential of this team is insane.
Thanks for taking your time and sharing.
I agree with all of this. This teams depth is better than any team I’ve seen in recent memory and yes with Flagg at times it’s too iso heavy
