Look into liquid de-icing! Big tanks, a pump and some ez plumbing. My company runs liquid (excavation outfit) and sanders all season. Our sanders are just like these spreaders, always a pain in the butt and irritating. But liquid deicer is easy to deal with, spreading is fast, pumps are plug and play, and the piping also plug and play (we use welded steel that plugs into your receiver for the sprayer tips, plumbed into outlet-side of the pump.) Might be worth your while instead of messing around with granular spreaders.

Question if I may. If I was looking at two 1 ton trucks. One gas and one diesel. And I’m going to be snow plowing, would you go for the gas or diesel? I’m thinking gas because of all the SCR DOC DPF DEF diesel emissions stud and the soot burn off. And all the idling and low RPMs a diesel engine would experience with snow plowing. Would you agree? Or disagree? Any other valid points I’m not thinking off? Thank you. I own a 6.7L power stroke which is hard working with towing and such. Already had a DPF filter replaced under warranty, would’ve been $10k bill for labor and parts.

Spray all salter metals with fuild film

Spray some CRC QD electrical cleaner on your connections for the spreaders to clean them up after that put dielectric grease in the connections to keep foreign debris out. I do this to my equipment and have a lot better time with connections. Love the videos as well!

Always enjoy watching your videos. You really do need to get these guys to have more respect for you and the business and I only say it cause we really enjoy the channel but watching the way the guys treat the trucks and equipment is pure laziness and as the boss you need to set them straight. Some of these guys treat you more like a friend than a boss. You dumped those leaves and would’ve lost those tools if you didn’t notice them and I wonder if you said anything? The other guy standing in front of the heater with the door wide open and makes a wise remark, he doesn’t pay for the diesel so why would he care right? Hope you’re not being nice just for your videos. Only want to see you succeed, good luck 👍

Tom where you added the tinfoil, you can spread the male side of that connector apart with a flat screwdriver. It's a lot cheaper to pay an employee to spend a week washing and oil spraying equipment then replacing stuff all the time. Those plow lights are crap and everyone should be suing them. Douglas Dynamics bought all these plow companies, changed all the lighting to this style and they all break. $800 for a new pair in Ontario, Canada.

You might want to look into the boss salt sprayers That's what I got they work better you have to learn your listen man get the best ones you can get the boss in the Western there are the good ones

Congrats on the loader and new land! We've been at this full time since 2003 and one of the biggest regrets is not finding land of our own but the last two shops we've rented have been very convenient and a steal for rent. I have one request for the loader, assuming your putting a push box of some sort on is a longer push with it (something more than 200ft or so). We do a couple box stores and we've been doing it with our JD 310J with a 10ft push box and it moves a lot of snow but its getting up there in age and could use a body overhaul so Ive been looking for another loader and one buddy that plows for me is a Bobcat salesman so would like to give hime the business but they wont bring one in for a demo and all the other videos Ive seen is that I95 plowing smaller lots.
